Wasn't going to try it out tonight (had other games/tv planned) but seeing examples like this more and more, how can I not play? Can't wait. -
A lot of servers have time zones in their name, use them to figure out what time a server is running in-game. Even if you can't get your head around the time zones, a quick bit of trial and error will work.

I've seen (experienced to be more precise) ONE hacker in about 6 months. He kitted the whole server out with gear and it generally caused localised mayhem for a short while. -
I use Fraps onto a WD 2TB drive while fraps is installed onto C:\. The WD is plugged in through a USB 3 port and (with a good PC) it records on a 1:1 quality without a performance hit, whereas if I record it onto C:\ it does slow the game down. Fraps may be a hog, but it all runs fine and with good quality, so I'm happy with it.

Yeah, some kid tried to hold me and a mate up. I just kept telling him to give me a minute, and mumbled stuff about figuring it out, until he then offered us medical supplies, presumably to stop us shooting him. Then a guy on an out-of-control bicycle nearly ran me over while we were all talking on the side of a hill. EDIT: My mate was 50m away moving towards him, he thought it was me....... I had an M16/ACOG and the other guy had an AS50, apparently similar looking weapons to some. -
If I was working on a game that everyone was so hyped (and in some cases whingy) about, I'd be sitting back relaxing on my Christmas holidays, not working, exactly like I am now. Screw working when you should be on a break. I don't really expect the game to come out until sometime into the new year and it doesn't bother me. Big supporter of the whole "Quality over quantity" concept too. Looking forward to the release.

You can do this sort of thing in Arma2, there's plenty of missions like that out there. Patrol Ops, for example, is a good one. You don't need to be playing DayZ to experience mission orientated gameplay, and the Patrol Ops servers I play on actually attract people willing to play as a team. edit: However, something like that as a mission specific towards the DayZ environment that you could elect to complete with a mate, clan or whoever would be alright I think.

I've found 10 ghillie suits in my time, just one of them was on the ground, and it wasn't a usual spawning place for it, and one was in someone's inventory. The rest we're from tents. Most of the high-end gear I ever have is from camp sites.

Regardless of what was, is, or will be, everything is a step forward. Every time a new feature is added that causes a bug it's an opportunity for that problem to be solved. People can counter by saying that Rocket doesn't appear to be moving in any direction or solving anything, but I say give it time, let the problems arise as new features are implemented and let the to-do list grow sooner rather than later. They know what they're doing.

I was on an AU server (possibly AU1...) for a few hours last night, got legitimately killed during the session, didn't see/notice any signs of hackers. Then I went and played some normal ArmA anyway.

Equipping civilian clothing strange things happened. What does it all mean?

All your debug monitor stats get "hidden" when you put a new skin/clothes on. Next time you join a server your stats will be what they should be. The pack thing - equipping a new skin/clothes with a pack on kills the pack, so next time, take it off, put your clothes on, then grab your pack back. Each time I've done this though it's spawned a new empty copy of my pack on the ground while I got mine back. -

Just stopping by to register my run-in with this bug tonight. Just as a few people have said, I too subscribe to the "Lost all my hard earned gear" problem. First time for me though and I'm at day 31 so here's hoping I don't see it again for another month...... -

Unlucky, I was just on for a couple of hours. Found a bus in the bush, then saw a truck as I went to drive off. Crashed the truck a VERY short time later and got out of it as it exploded. Then I found a car on the way back to the bus. Made 2 pick ups for mates and we joy rode until it ran empty. -
Everytime i try to launch arma 2 or operation arrowhead it launches dayz instead.

I've used them before a few times to break away from a contact, and once as a reference to guide a mate to where I was waiting for him on the edge of town. Last time was 2 guys that got the drop on me. 1 smoke, and a frag to make them think twice, and I was outta there.

I got hacked and lost all the gear I'd been hunting for, which was nearly a complete list, and had it replaced with an RPK, 2 mags and 5 satchels. Ditched it all and went looking for more gear again. Seemed like a better idea than to stop playing. -

I think it's to do with how a recent update changed the way the server browser prioritises servers for you, showing you the best ones as far as it's concerned. But, I'm having the same problem. I do the same as Scrump to fix it.

Hero skin resetting zombie kill count?

No, I've only had new sets of clothing reset it on a temporary basis. After I reconnect to the game all my stats are there, updated to reflect the correct info in the debug monitor. Though I've only done this with a ghillie suit and civilian clothing, not the hero skin. -
