US 1154 US 2373 (lots of teleporting and spawning other shit going on here too, and making large messages scroll across the bottom of the screen) US 3305 US 843 US 3749 US 1567 ... All of these servers have a large thunderome type structure in the middle of the NWA in addition to some other strange stuff going on.

Honestly, the only solution that's likely to have an affect on rampant player killing is making the zombies more menacing. They should do more damage, and touching a player's dead body should get blood on you and attract zombies. That's not going to stop sniping, but I think it'll slow down the Call of Duty bandit motherfuckers running around.

Shot at a guy who shot first in Elektro. He ran off and is now teleporting me over and over again off the map and killing me. I'm just letting him in the hopes that this servers admin looks in here and can catch him in the act. He's still doing it right now. Anyway, I've got other stuff to do so I'll just see how long it takes him to tire out.

Hey, what you know, ZIMOS logged off the server and it stopped. It was ZIMOS! Haha.

It's still going on and myself and one other person are the only ones left on the server and, surprise, ZIMOS is still on. I'm almost positive it's him now.

US 535 (64.79.106.136:2312). I'm not certain, but I think the hacker is ZIMOS. That name showed up on my crosshairs one of the times I was teleported and there didn't appear to be anyone else around. He's teleported all the vehicles to one location too. His still doing right now. I'm sure he's expecting me to log off, but I'm just going to let him keep doing it as long as he can. Hopefully an admin can check the logs now that I've made it known and there's a name to check against (I don't know how all that works...).

Most snipers are the biggest sissies in the entire game. Earlier this week I had a hilarious run in with just such a pussy. I was making my way into Elektro from the West, and starting taking fire from a sniper rifle. I manged to spot the guy in one of those crane things in the shipping yard/industrial Western most part of Elektro. I worked my way within 50 meters of his location and had a nice spot behind a wall where I could easily see him in 3rd person, but he couldn't see me. I had no weapon, but picked up some flares as I moved into position. I just started spamming his location with flares and he logged off. That's it. I didn't even have a hatchet. I literally could not have harmed him. But he was just too stupid to figure out what to do in a situation where somebody was doing something unexpected. Most of the snipers I've come across are just really dumb and easily frightened out of the game.

I took a heli down with an AK a few days ago. If you can land a good shot on the pilot then you can take a heli down with just about any gun. To elaborate, there was a heli with at least two guys in it that I could see and they were flying pretty low around Elektro shooting at people. It was a decently populated server (25-30 people) with a good number of friendly folks running around Elektro. I was in the school house and the heli was hovering about 20 meters or so above the hospital shooting at somebody on the coastal side of the hospital. I fired about a dozen or so shots at the gunner and got a confirmed kill. The heli started to fly away and I shot 6 or so times at the pilot, but couldn't tell at the time if I landed any shots. The heli flew over the school house and from a window on the other side I watched it fly low but dangerously sideways over the small hill at the base of sniper hill and then heard a very loud boom. I then saw the death message for one person. I'm assuming I critically injured the pilot with one or more AK shots, possibly knocking him out. Anyway, it was pretty cool to watch and was totally unexpected. I thought at best I'd run them off but at least give the guy they were shooting at a chance to get some better cover. The only other time I've taken a helicopter down was with an AS50 and those anti-vehicle rounds. It was one shot, and the thing practically dropped out of the sky.

Your humanity is still being tracked. Usually if your watch the debug monitor just as you enter the game world your actual humanity will flash for a brief moment before it is incorrectly shown as zero. If you like, we could arrange a meet-up where I'll let you lose all the humanity you could ever hope to lose.

Any other heros troll hostile non-hero, non-bandits with their high humanity? I do this all the time now that my humanity is approaching 50,000. If I see a player running around who isn't already a bandit and isn't a hero, I approach unarmed and instead of running away when they shoot I salute them in honor of their new practically permanent bandit tag. The more perma-bandits I can make the better for me, because then I can have fun shooting people without any consequences.

Same here. Ever since I got Hero my humanity always resets to 0. It reset to 0 immediately after getting hero, then I gained a couple hundred after a few hours of playing. When I logged in again on another server it was 0 again. After playing some more I had over 1000 humanity. When I logged in again the next day it was back to 0. WTF???

I was just about to post a thread about this. Today I installed a new AMD 7770 1GB on another system I have in the house and tried DayZ on that card (surprisingly playable at 1080p with default "Very High" Quality Preference minus AA). But, I noticed that when looking at some trees from some viewing angles and distances they'd appear with lots and lots of little white dots within the leaves. The distance at which the dots appears seems to be affected by the aniso setting, but even disabling anisotropic filtering altogether doesn't get rid of the problem, it just means you have to be really close to the leaves for it to show up. The card I have is factory OCd a little, but it isn't running any hotter than some reference cards I've looked at and I have a more than capable PSU. I've swapped in an 8800GTX and a GTX580, both of which run quite a bit hotter and draw more power, and everything runs just fine. I am using the latest Catalyst drivers (whatever comes packed in the 12.8 release), so maybe it's a problem with this most recent driver release. Part of the reason I suspect that to be the case is that my MacBook Pro, which has a 6770m, runs an older Catalyst driver (from the 11.xx release package) and doesn't have this problem. When I get a chance later today I'm going to install an older driver set to see if that makes a difference.

That's strange. I haven't been monitoring my temps, so I can't say if there's a difference. By the way my fans get moving while playing DayZ I've always assumed it was running hotter than with most other games, but I've never bothered to check because I've never experienced any issues I'd typically associate with heat. If I remember I'll check into it next time I'm playing.

I've got a GTX 580 and on some servers (ex. US 811) I get like 10 FPS. It's strange. On other servers the game runs fine. I've got an OC'd Ivy Bridge i7 (4.2GHz) and 16GBs of RAM. I run the game at these settings and on good servers I've never seen the FPS dip below 30FPs. Quality preference: Very High Interface resolution: 1920x1080 3D resolution: 1920x1080 Texture detail: Very High Video memory: Default Aniso: Very High Antialiasing: Low Disabled ATOC; Disable (Can see through trees and grass better) Terrain detail: Very High Objects detail: Very High Shadow detail: Very High HDR quality: Normal PPAA: FXAA - High Postprocessing effects: Very High Vsync: Enabled I also run with -maxMem=2047, -cpuCount=4, and -exThreads=7. Edit: Also, unless I'm checking performance I run the game with my framerate locked to 30FPS via nVidia Inspector. 30FPS looks smooth enough to me and I don't like my framerate jumping around (which happens a lot when you're turning around and looking at different areas in this game), because it creates a jarring effect.

With broken legs I crawled from the South West Airfield to about 50 meters from the first hospital in Cherno. Somehow a zombie went agro on me as a crawled toward the hospital. I died.

Here's a short story. I found a loaded dead sniper in the hills NW of Elektro who happened to be carrying a satchel charge. I made my way into Elektro and was looting the schoolhouse. I knew there was at least one person in the cafe just across the street to the west and I called out friendly. There was a brief moment of conversation but it quickly became apparent that the other guy was trolling for a kill. And this is where it got fun. I told him I thought he was playing me and that I had just satchel charged his building and he had less than 30 seconds to exit. He subsequently started into name calling and threats of his own, but clearly misjudged the sincerity of my claim. In hindsight, it would have been more fun to walk in there and salute, but by the time that thought occurred to me I was already down the street...and the building was gone.

That's the first thing I did after hopping in the editor. It's amazing how much more fluid you can be with just a 360 controller. So, I'm just getting started in the editor and I think I've got unit placement, grouping, and waypoints down to the point that I can create the scenes I want. The problem I'm having is that I don't know where to find the player model from DayZ. Which model is is?

I'm afalamala on Steam. I'm just starting a new character and spawned near Elektro, and I'll probably head into Elektro and try to loot some survival stuff. Odds are I'll be killed by sociopathic bastards, but here goes! Edit: Already off to a bad start. Some fuck face wants to kill me as I leave the beach and is shooting at me with an AK or something like that from the hills, and then when I duck behind some trees to evade fire I start dancing. There's nothing out here. Just hills. Rolling hills. It's been a few hours since I was teleported out here. Thankfully I survived the mayhem. Or, maybe not. I'm pretty loaded up on supplies, but I haven't seen any animals in the last 30 minutes or so, so hopefully my beans will be enough to make it back to the map. Wish me luck.

Anyone want to murderer bait with me? I've got two computers with different Steam accounts and DayZ installed on both. Basically, we get a little group together, get into position, and use one of my characters unarmed to try to go fishing for murderers. When they kill me we rush in and administer vigilante justice.
