What are the devs working on at the moment?
ZombifiedShark replied to TimTams's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
i love it! -
Yall stop freakin taking his words out of context he's had to say like 5 times in this thread that he means basic things. Yes this should be implemented, weight should be a factor and, noise should be a factor also.

if you do that you would need to make hatchets more common, because you still need something to defend yourself from zombies. it still makes zombie confrontation scary, and people can run away from hostile axe murderers

Cloth/Armor Slots and More Choices
ZombifiedShark replied to ZombifiedShark's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
i see what you're saying. what would you change about my proposition then? -
there should be a durability meter. like if you drive it in the dirt one of the wheels breaks of after a while.
-
john johnson, dont be so biased dude. and bukethead this could be implemented, but i doubt they would make it a priority, they have a lot of stuff to work on.
-
you should need a hunting knife or something to do the cannibal thing. it would be hard to eat someone without tools to cut them open and get you started.

Zig Zagging animals that run through walls? sounds wonderful! where do i sign up?
-
infected animals would rock so hard

im pretty sure that people with security and the underground bases that are hard to get into would probably choose this method if they got a bonus for it. like i already said. Dont automatically say that something is retarted because you don't agree with it. there are plenty of good reasons for the sleep logout.
-
also, im pretty sure rocket and his team thought about this. first, your base would be on one server. non transferrable. so again with the careful thinking. second, the world is not too small for a player sized trap door. mind you the underground base WILL not be easily made. so its not like every noob and his/her mother is going to make a base. third, someone earlier in the thread said that coding could clear up a lot of the memory/resource issues.
-
the sleep logout wouldn't be required, and there could be a message saying the consequences of sleep logout. make people think twice about sleep logout in the woods, or in the middle of cherno dont ya think? there would also be a lot less noob bodies laying around. with the sleep logout, you would have to log back into the same server. so that would also discourage a lot of careless sleep logouts.
-
underground bases are just a way to add more realism. you would have a home, a place to put things, a place to sleep. shelter. possibly a hq for your friends. its safer than a tent, if the entrance is a trap door sort of deal. Im also not saying that no one will ever find you. if someone does find your base. it would be highly rewarding, just like finding someone's tent. you can shoot the lock to their trap door, or whatever. steal all their loot. and kill the person. or not. leave them to deal with it. You can set traps around the door and use it as bait. So many possibilities with the underground area. Now with the sleep. im not saying that it should be required im saying that it could be an alternative for people who have security. There would be a bonus, because you were able to sleep better.

i was actually thinking a lot about this too, its a great idea. however, people need more security if they're going to have to do that when they log out. I feel like i keep on saying this, but i heard that rocket was going to try to give players the tools to make underground areas. so let him do that first, and then when people log out, they will have a place to do so. Guys please be more open minded, and try to find some common ground. also, the underground areas are supposed to be instanced, so goodbye to the server/resources problem. also, let them make locks and things so that you have another way to protect yourself.. maybe lock a house shut and fool players into thinkings its a non enter-able. there are lots of ways to fix the lack of security issue. also, give a benefit to the sleep. make a sleep meter, or give a benefit where wounds heal faster, or food wont diminish as quickly when you got to a sleep logout rather than a reg logout. you can also make sleep logout a non-requirement. to give people a choice.
-
i believe this would go splendidly well, with the underground areas i have heard rocket talk about. where he's going to give us the tools in the future to make our own underground areas. also combination locks, or keys would make the locks a better idea, so that multiple people can use something like a guild chest or something
-
this is an awesome idea. however, they need to fix the inventory first. Also, they should make different tents, and the different tents have different inventory. so a deluxe tent would have double the inventory of a single tent.

Lighting Buildings/Camps/Players on fire with matches.
ZombifiedShark replied to esham (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
i like this idea. maybe tone it down a bit though. or make the requirements excessively high = in order to burn down building you need 25 jerry cans. also, the forest fire idea shouldn't be so large scale. maybe if you leave you camp fire on, it will burn down surrounding area and your tent (if applicable) -
Realistic damage -> First Aid Etc.
ZombifiedShark replied to Xyphiom's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
make bandages have time limits. Wounds should have really long time limits (simulate healing). Maybe a pain meter, because people can get knocked out from too much pain right? Infections should be more deadly, like gangrene or frostbite. -
How to make the game even MORE intense...
ZombifiedShark replied to MRJOEYBON's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
i heard that rocket was going to try to give people the tools to create their own underground area. I was wondering maybe rocket makes the game to where if you logout, you just go to sleep and people can break in. Then that'll make the game more intense
