Survival is the ability to loot and store items and loot again, its thanks to the ability to store things that increases survivability... I believe the real issue is just the duping as with normal tents even if you do lose your gear and can go to a tent and re-equip the gear tends to get more sparse and lower level which is the point, with duped items this mechanic is eliminated completely from the game. Some people like to go with what they got, others, like me, prefer to have somewhere to store excess gear. What's the point of looting if you can't even hold everything you find? It might go more towards idiots running around and shooting like CoD players simply because they don't have the RISK of needing to get their new found loot to their safe haven and then they still have to worry about protecting their gear and making sure no one is trailing them... Having tents and camps adds a new level of intensity to the game.

Well after you fix the duping, then whats the point of deleting all the tents? That hardly makes sense. You say its so people have to scavenge for new guns rather than just pick it up from random tent in the middle of nowhere. You forgot about the person who owns that tent and now lost his endgame gear? Chances are that gear isn't even on the same server anymore so he'll need to go scavenge again. Its all about the realism... you seem to want to make it harder for everyone with no real bonus or gain from it... no real fix for anything..

Yes, it really depends where you put the resources... it might be personal choice but I would want to target such a game breaking bug, but taking out the respawn button seemed like a better problem to solve! And who knows, maybe they're working on it, it would be nice to tell us what they are doing and not just add it to a bucket list and kind of HINT what is going on...

This is the most idiotic response, yet the most common i seem to find on these forums by little fan girls. Their last standing material to use as defense for their beloved mod. The developers have not fixed such a serious bug in the game yet the fact that its in Alpha seems to have something to do with it? Well lets make it beta! Well we made it beta and still no change in the bug. It's a developers job to fix bugs like these as they ruin the game for us and in turn ruin its popularity. Whether its alpha or beta or gamma or whatever the fuck, it makes not a lick of difference. Bugs like these should be fixed IMMEDIATELY, not when the game is tagged with beta.

How can a problem like this be allowed to go on so long unfixed? That is horrible care from the development team...

I believe you can use the respawn button if you have a broken leg...? It said it in the update log( if you guys bother to even look at it )

Yea, some people don't realize that in 3rd person their gun can easily be blocked by some object so its a good idea to check in first person to make sure the barrel is clear... good tip for you new guys ;) Edit: I record with Fraps, this video was about 3 gigs until I cut out like 1/3 of it and then used Sony Vegas Pro to process it into a 200mb file which I then used an automated uploader to add the watermark and intro and upload to Youtube, a feature of GamersFused network for directors ;D

I won't lie, that guy is kind of an ass, he has the mindset of a 12 year old COD player( I think he's 13 ) so it gets VERY annoying playing with this guy especially when he rage quits and uninstalls the game....... only to reinstall it the next day lol

I already have a server picked out but compromises can be made based on location and varying pings. Would like to get a consistent team of 5+ guys to start off and maybe we can look to expand :D. So i've been checking the stats on some servers and so far everyone runs on Windows? Can you only host Arma 2 servers on Windows? I read up on it and thats not the case. Server admins might have better luck running on a linux box as even Windows will hog up a little ram and other resources from the computer! Also what's up with some of the server hosts? From what I have read it seems most of them to be shady and are using illegitimate copies of windows for their servers, hell, maybe even multiple servers on the same box. So someone should really look into making the conditions for just running a server more strict, possibly blacklisting shady server hosts! Thanks, would love to fix my FPS Hit from shittie servers! :D

People seem to celebrate the commoness of AKM rounds are the larger number of bullets per magazine. It has more bullets per magazine because its expected to miss more than a Winchester so arguably they are on an even playing field.

I've stopped with the friendly stuff... usually kill anyone who has a gun.. or hatchet.. or atleast attempt to. If im at a distance I try to scare them away with random fire too! :D

How are they hacked? Like you know for sure they were hacked in or is it obvious they are modded with like infinite ammo or something... I would believe you could only RISK getting banned if you know its hacked and still use it but if some hacker just spawns it and a passerby picks it up unknowingly...

Arma 2 can be put on linux, I don't know how its done exactly but the wiki for setting it up says you can but since they don't cover it really probably means its a bit of hassle. If Arma 2 can support linux servers than this sounds like a DayZ issue... please correct me if im wrong tho :)

After setting up our base we got attacked by some invicible script kiddie with a hatchet lol. One guy down, but me and another survived. You can hear his voice for like one sentence... very comical scene! You have any encounters with this rare beast? Why not share :D

The most fun I have ever had at night is when i was in a group of 5, including myself, and we decided to rough the night. We had a tent set up but it was boring so we decided to take what we could and make a run from Elektro to Stary Sobor... We had two players with chem lights to lead, I was one of em, just in case a sniper spotted us the others could retaliate in the darkness.... well we ended up dying at the second town we passed by due to hordes of zombie and insufficient lights. It was awesome. Try putting HDR to very high, might do the trick ;)

How complicated is the server? Does it need to be completely rewritten for linux use?

I guess some hacker teleported to us in our newly set up base and he just chased us around with a hatchet screaming about the US Rangers or something. One of our guys died but the other two of us just decided to quit... after trash talking a bit... Hahaha, my team mate is such a pussy lol :) We also have a video, it shows more of the end of it and has NO ACTION. Wish I had gotten the video of the dude chasing my friend out of the trees yelling... pretty funny! Have you had an encounter with this rare beast? Yes? Then post up your experience :D
