The connection rejections seem completely random. Sometimes they time out, most of the time just get a connection refused. Usually one out of 4--5 restarts works. -

The PBO re-packer was the issue for me. I believe I have it sorted now, thank you for your time. Will this fix be included in the next public patch? I sure hope so, it would seem crazy to allow vehicle saves in debug. Also, does ResetOOBVehicles = true have to be set under hiveext.ini for the cleanup routines to run or can it be left commented out? -

I found the problem for me. The PBO utility was leaving some files out under /system/ and causing script errors. I think defining the variable works, but I have to test further. So to recap: 1. Unpack dayz_server.pbo with a command line utility. 2. Find fa_hiveMaintenance.hpp under /compile/ 3. Using a nice text editor (such as Notepad++). Un-comment (remove //) #define VEH_MAINTENANCE_FIX_OUTOFMAP and #define OBJECTS_FIX_OUTOFMAP (if desired). Save. 4. Repack the PBO using the command line utility. Make SURE the files under /system/ match the original dayz_server.pbo Hope this helps. -

Hive connection died randomly today for my instance as well. Restarted several time and it seems to connect randomly, but most of the time I get a Timeout. -

Tried the command line method, no difference. The PBO packs correctly but when the server loads the missions but does not connect to the hive. It just says mission started and players get a blank screen. Replacing the dayz_server.pbo with the official release version works 100%, but obviously does not cleanup out of bounds vehicles. -

If I un-comment the definition. The server will load, the mission starts but the hive connection is never initialized and hiveext.log not created. People will see attempting to authenticate with server forever until they time out. On the console, the server never initializes the hive connection. Is it possible my PBO repacker is not working properly? If you have a specific text editor/PBO packer you recommend, please advise. Thanks. -

The hive had a problem earlier today but it looks like it is back up now. Make sure you have the latest @Hive files installed on your server.

Monitoring "Combat log" in 1.7.7.1

I generally agree, but I have personally seen instances of people who still manage to ALT-F4/CloserWindow/TerminateThroughTaskManager while in combat. It used to be a status update of "possible combat log" in arma2oaserver.RPT but it seems those messages are no longer being written into the debug info. Any other admins know if this is a change with the new patch or is the combat-log mechanic simply turned off for now? -
There is not a shortage of public hive servers. Most are never full and the rest are sparsely populated on any given afternoon. The problem is that many player prefer the PvP/vehicle focused private hives. OP, are you saying you can't find public servers by sorting "Hide unofficial" on DayZ Commander? Or is your complaint about the lack of player density on the remaining public hive servers?

I have to agree, allowing random public hive servers to create random rules (such as no-pvp) is absurd. There is a baseline standard, if they refuse to abide they are free to setup a private hive. The server instance should be revoked. New players will be even more confused, considering the number of private hives and various mods already out there. Edit: accidentally a word. -

Yep, the anti-teleport system was causing many players to get stuck in debug when they spawned. This included some vehicle objects. Many server administrators did not re-create/update their mission file properly and it caused a lot of issues when the new patch launched. We rolled back to 1.7.6.1 the first couple of days until it got sorted out. I am not sure if EU just has much smaller number of servers or if the server admins are just not checking the forums as frequently. Script kiddies are way less common on public hives now, and they are usually fairly obvious and quickly banished from individual servers. -

Yep, the scripter will cause everyone to get kicked. You can find the originator of the command in remoteexec.log Strongly suggest you ban the IP address and GUID. Try joining a server that has the teleport-preventing script disabled, try my server (US 1257) to see if you spawn in correctly. You can also try creating a new profile in Arma 2 AO, that fixes issues for some people as well. -
Vehicles not respawning after being destroyed on my 1.7.7 server

I have noticed a single instance of an ATV that exploded right after the 1.7.7 patch and re-spawned back broken and empty (no gear) after I downgraded the server to 1.7.6.1. It is probably a hive DB cleanup routine issue again, will keep my server on the older version until this and debug spawns are fixed. -

Same problem here, many players spawning in debug and murdering each other repeatedly. Rolled back to 1.7.6.1 until this issue is addressed. The BattleEye filters provided with the patch kick for Publicvariable, rolled those back to the old community banlist version for now as well. -

Good day all, I have a problem with random vehicles on my server instance flooding my RPT at insane speed. I am talking about 10-20 KB per second log file growth, which is simply not sustainable. I have attempted to keep the server offline for at least 1 week in hopes of the broken bikes resetting and getting fixed, but no dice. As soon as the game starts, the log flooding begins. I believe there is more than 1 bike, which probably got teleported into the ocean. The server is not usable in this state. Have any server admins ran into this issue before and found a solution? Any insight greatly appreciated. Thanks for you time.

Yes the guy was running around as an animal trolling players and probably spawing random ammo boxes. I saw this on my own server with my group of friends. I find it funny but still a ban due to ammo/item spawning. -
