Altar mountain, need blood, bodyguards preferred as I am staking out a UAZ where my friend was shot - if any of you medics care not for the revenge kills, but to secure some of the loot stored in the broken UAZ. *Including a Bizon + Mags, 16ish SVD Mags, FAL scoped, RGD Grenades -
Getting incapped by a random zombie hit when under 9000 blood is ridiculous and the pinnacle of inconsistency. My other suggestion thread recommended a way to encourage grouping; and mates to protect you when KO'd would just do that (so take this pro-solo post quite objectively!), but this is obscene for solo'ers. 75% of health is no low amount of blood for a 1 in X chance to pretty much be sent back to the coast again. The randomness and extremity of the consequences is out of hand really - Make it 3000 blood but more consistent at a whimsical suggestion, but its terrible as it is. *I am aware a lot of you want zombies to be harder, an actual threat to be scared of, but this roll-of-the-dice-and-you're-fucked-if-alone should not be the way. Again this does not add to difficulty, I am not against that, it is a randomly generated restart for soloers. Also - you can get a spontaneous heart attack IRL (wouldn't be a bitch to code) - so why not ingame! -

That is not difficulty - it's a mechanic that forces a restart rather than make what you're doing harder. -

Hypothetically, but the zombies are pummeling/clawing/whatevering us not shooting us. If a realism boff trauma on this scale should not be incapacitating nearly as much as it is now - in fact it'd be such a negligible level it should be removed. Anyway, even if my realism related knowledge is wrong - does the situation not scream to surrender your 'realism' for game balance? -

It was admittedly whimsical i.e. flawed and nowhere near watertight. In regards to realism - yeah you can be knocked out by SOME trauma, but I doubt these zombies are making pinpoint shots to your head, or hardly breaking your flesh apart (consider the chance they make you bleed). If you want realism let the player be flailed about and senseless by zombie bashes rather than an instakill scenario. -

Zombies are both too easy and too hard depending on the situation; right now they can absolutely rape solo'ers - especially baring in mind it'll be harder for soloers to maintain that 12k blood without transfusions AND they also are helpless when incapped. -

After no response from the official guys, I was initially apprehensive as Tramlok sent me a PM, but persevered for an hour whilst we found a server, meet, and where the hell my body was! He had a bike and plenty to lose, whilst I was armed, so a recommendation for the white list! -

Living in an apocalypse and supermarkets will still have literally days worth of food for you, let alone robbing any old barn or residential. There is currently nearly no value in food since it's extremely easy to find more than you can carry for yourself. Limiting its supply makes starvation a genuine possibility, and would be a step towards making low scale trades feasible. Hunger/Dehydration times would be doubled to slightly compensate, though sustenance drops could massively drop past that. A disincentive for beans-related murder, and incentive to share would be splitting up each food object into multiple rations; which perish in time to deter soloing.

Of course, its not a massive leap that if you slim down food drops, then live animals become rarer too. As for water, I know that lakes and ponds cannot be scorched away - but hopefully that should drive people to actually use watering holes, maybe I'm not seasoned enough, but I see far, far more carrying pepsi than water bottles.

I don't see how your evidence in the first paragraph, is evidence. As far as I'm concerned its logic, an incentive or advantage to do one thing (band together) will naturally pull people from soloing. You completely ignored my latter part where I was explicit in saying that soloing is still feasible. Infact - if an absolute pessimist consider this - solo'ers mantain a status quo and difficulty has not changed, but groups get an advantage. As to solo play being gimped? Hardly: much more freedom without burdens of coordination; much harder to spot; much less supplies and meds needed; nobody to question the morality and wait of sniping...

Soloing and banding together are mostly mutually exclusive in a game like this, due to the forces that drive each, and to encourage cooperation, yeah, soloing had to take a hit. My suggestion never made lone wolfing impossible or unreasonably hard either, it is still manageable, I've just put some relevant disadvantage to lone wolfing
