Last night, some friends and I were playing about 20 minutes on a server, when all the sudden I went from third person to first person without doing anything. After hitting Enter on the number pad, I notice I am wearing a red beret. I look at my friends and notice that they are as well. When looking at them, I notice that they are both named Rocket, rather than their in game names. We decide it's probably best to log out, since we had some decent loot and didn't want to lose it. I joined a server tonight, and I still have the red beret on. My concern here is that me and my friends will be considered hackers, even though we have spent hours playing the game legit. Anyone know how we can remove the berets without losing our lootor keep them and continue going without being banned from servers or worse our CD Keys?

Now That It Has Been Announced, In The Standalone Please Have It So You Can Play With More Than One Account Rocket.

I agree with this thread. I play mainly with a group of friends once or twice a week for 3 hours at a time, but I would love to play more. I know I can take my character and use it between our sessions, but it would be nice to just be able to have someone I can be careless with and run through the streets of major cities and risk losing it all. My only concern here is that people will create mules for carrying stuff, rather than leaving stuff on a server, where it is vulnerable. -

I have watched most of this so far, and he hasn't used it to kill any players. -

Between seeing players as dogs, bunnies and cows, cows parachuting from the sky and every script kid having all the loot, running the exact same silenced layout, nothing surprises me any longer. Even though the kids are geared up, they can't shoot worth a damn. Took two out with a makarov. -

There was no admin listed in the player list. He was just a hacker. -

Nerfed guns and more zombies makes johnny something something
johnnylamerton (DayZ) posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So I read that the nerfing wasn't Rocket's doing. I think the company as a whole can use a little better communication system. This impact is amplified by the fact that zombies apparently have the best ears ever. I have seen the threads about both issues, one turned into a debate on the winchester rather than staying on topic, but I don't think they have been addressed at the same time. At this point, you are better off using a two shot hatchet, than any of the low end pistols. Hell, a crowbar might even be better. And the zombies that agro in town when a shot is fired is overwhelming. Starting out with a low end nerfed weapon, and having to fend off wave after wave of zombies is beyond difficult. Yes, I understand that if I don't shoot, I don't have to worry about the waves of zombies, but it's not always possible to completely sneak through a town. -
Stand alone DayZ. What does rocket need from us?

Let's be honest, they're not hackers, they're script kiddies
johnnylamerton (DayZ) posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Try not to give these douchebags more credit than they deserve. Hackers are much more powerful. Most of them are using other peoples scripts since they don't have the capacity to write their own. Either way, they're taking away from the game. I'd be surprised if they don't ruin the game completely. I guess that wouldn't leave anyone for them to annoy in the end. -
Joining a server is more frustrating than being killed by bandits...
johnnylamerton (DayZ) posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So my friends and I try and find a server to play on last night that would give us 4 hours of daylight. We start by going into servers with correctly listed GMT's or, the time on the server listed in DayZCommander is correct. Most often, it would sit at waiting to create character. After waiting for 5-10 minutes, and nothing loading it's on to another. The rare instance we did get in, it was completely dark. We almost decided to join a Veteran server, since we weren't able to find what we wanted on Regular. We spent an hour looking for a server, before we found one that would work, which is far too long. A few things: 1) Server admins need to be held more accountable for the data that is listed in their description, specifically the GMT setting. They should also be required to keep their servers up to date. If a new patch drops, and they haven't updated their server in a reasonable time, they should be removed from the browser list until they meet the minimum required version. 2) The central DayZ servers need to be improved. Several servers had less than 75ms ping, so it's obvious that the servers are responding quickly. Sitting at "wait for character to create" for long periods of time seems to mean that the server is waiting on the central servers to obtain location, gear, etc. There were several people complaining about this last night on the servers we joined. Either servers need to be added, or there needs to be a timeout so we are not wasting our time waiting to play the game. 3) I also think a combination of Six Launcher and DayZCommander is in order to get better results from the server browser. Six Launcher's update ability, and difficulty level are necessary, while the filters and time on server features on DayZCommander are awesome. I wish every server had the ability to communicate the time in game to the server browser, so it's not so hit or miss. This is just my two cents/rant. The game is one of the best games I have played to date, and I look forward to playing more in the future. I just hope I don't have to wait an hour to find something playable in the future. -

1) I understand that it's the owners responsibility, but it seems there are a few owners who need to get on the ball. There are far too many 1.61 servers and below out there. And the descriptions should be accurate and conatain all necessary data. 2) I understand that DayZ does not host the individual servers. It is of my opinion that the reason it takes so long to get into the game is not the servers we are joining, but the core servers that hold our player data. I believe these are being overwhelmed, especially since the Steam sale. 3) This was more a general suggestion. Although, if admins would keep their descriptions current and accurate, all we would need is a server browser, and not a better launcher. -
Server Tags Demystified: How To Find The Right Server
johnnylamerton (DayZ) replied to howichrgelazer's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I noticed several servers with listed GMT's that were incorrect. Was there possibly a config file that was overwritten during a recent patch? Also, I wish more admins would actually read this thread, and follow it. Far too many servers do not list GMT in their description. It would make finding a server much easier than load in and hope it's the time of day. I like where DayZCommander is going with listing the server time, but most often that information isn't made available.
