on your current laptop, got to video settings - advanced settings and select low details, turn off post graphics etc etc etc.. this will give your fps a bump until you get a new laptop/pc to play on.

great suggestions. i think using things already in the game would be great, ie filling up all those empty whiskey bottles with petrol to make molotov cocktails, maybe have bats but than combining them with barbed wire for added damage etc. i also think if melee weapons are changed to secondaries, they should have an animation before being able to use them, ie placing main on back before drawing out the melee, just to avoid the potential of 'panic knifing pvp'

the whole point of having lethal weapons is to force you into a situation where you have to make that tough choice, ie i dont want to kill this person, but if i dont i will probably die.... its one of the many things that makes this game amazing. if you dont want to kill someone, shoot them in the leg and move along.

agree with Viles, its DayZ, you were going to die sooner or later (and yes it sucks when its a result of a hacker, scriptkiddy) but the only thing you can do is suck it up and start your next adventure. also - the game is x1000 more fun if you are playing with in a party

cheating to kill people in a videogame will probably be the highlight of his pathetic life. only thing i can say to you is, sorry for the bad experience, but its DayZ, you were going to die sooner or later. Nnow its time to leave that lonely beach...

if you are asking whether the gun is worth picking up/ using, than i would say yes, as its still one of the best available. if you are asking about how common they have become, than i would think due to the abundance of hackers/ duping etc than they are not as rare as they used to be. i think the loot spawn % has also changed in the past few updates as when i started playing, alice bags and decent guns were very hard to come by, now you can usually find several alice bags during a normal cherno/electro run

i think it might be safe to say that many players have died as a result of hacks/scripts without being aware that the player who killed them was cheating. As someone said earlier, hacking it not limited to the mass killings/teleportations etc, it can be just a douchebag spawning in leet gear or using ESP to get the drop on unsuspecting players.

agreed. i think the point new players dont recognise is, this MOD was not created for the casual gamer and by that i mean, the game is based on ARMA2, a military simulator and an established niche community. using that source engine, the MOD was created with a specific vision of gameplay and experience, which in its essence is brutal and tough. you are dropped without gear, without assistance or instruction and the solepurpose of surviving. nothing is given to you except resources that you might explore, scavange, fight to find... this is why the game is so unique..... because the rest is up to you.

it depends on the size of your bag and the rarity of your gun. you will be able to find more ammo for weapons, ie enfield, AK, AKM, Makarov, M1911 etc so its not always necessary to carry too much of these, however if you have a rarer gun, it would be prudent to pick up every clip you come across as you neve know when you will find the next one.

similar thing happened to me last night (forgot the server) after joining a server, i lost all the gear on my person, including primary/secondary weapons and my alice pack was replaced with a coyote pack will max equipment, gps, toolbox, entrenching tool etc. after this occured, i left for another server and had my original set up. fcking hackers ruining the game for everyone.

similiar thing happened to my friends and i the other night (forgot what server but i have a recording of it somewhere). we were outside cherno when we got teleported to NWAF along with everyone else on the sever, we logged out to avoid the mayhem. sad that these so-called hackers (who probably know nothing about real hacking without step-by-step internet guides) take it upon themselves to ruin everyones elses gaming experience.

same thing happened to us on another server last night. we were walking around cherno when all our gear was replaced by elite stuff (large bags, nvg, etc) i posted a topic earlier today, hope this gets fixed because if items are being handed to you on a silver plate, takes the fun out of exploration etc.... fcking hackers

Friends and I stumbled accross a weird hack when we entered one of the buildings in Cherno. Our gear was replaced by elite loot so we now have gillie suits, sniper rifles, NVG, GPS etc etc etc.... we will be dropping it and replacing it with what we originally had when we can it again, there is no sense of accomplishment if things are handed to you on a silver plate.
