I don't think the problem is as bad as you think it is. Even if there are lots of kids noobing up the game, they will soon get bored. This game rewards those who are patient. Most kids aren't patient.

I disagree dude, Chernarus is HUGE with massive open areas that were made for sniping, lying in wait (or camping) is perfectly valid in day z. If i was forced to choose between abolishing sniper rifles and every other type of gun in the game, you bet your ass id keep the sniper rifles.

Sounds like he was terrible, if you were fleeing and i had already basically wasted more than a full clip of ammo, id just let you go and save the rest of my ammo.

At least you aren't 100% butthurt over it. He could have killed you for gear, to protect the hospitals gear from you or for fun. Banditry dude. Why do so many people have this mindset. A bandit means they have 0 honor, a bandit kills for their own gain and they decide what 'their own gain' means, it could be genuine provisions to survive, it could be to make sure you don't kill him first, it could be for the sheer hell of it. The bandit doesn't care what the victim thinks the reason was as hes bleeding out on the pavement, he just moves on. A bandit doesn't lose any sleep over the methods he uses, posing as friendly then stabbing you in the back may be annoying but it is a totally legitimate way to play. To disallow/punish such methods will just ruin one of the main cornerstones of day z.

i wouldn't have classed it as roleplay at all. More like a pvp challenge, but message received, it was just a thought.

Why not i kind of like the idea of these guys holding all the cities so i can be challenged into attacking. I may grab some friends and form a guerrilla group. This is all assuming they consent to such a challenge.

Find two bushes close to each other, run through them as close to the centre as possible without hitting the centre or you will be stopped. As soon as you exit the second bush dive with 'z'. you have about an 80% of losing your pursuers if you've done it correctly.

Ive killed about 6 people so far with 1 shot headshots with the CZ, unlikely that all of them were on deaths door

You are right but you can never prove it 2. You are wrong and you look like a total jackass Maybe OPs group looted their way south and decided to do all future looting on the coast. The assailant started dicking around and crawling , op was apparently unarmed so he did not cause this. You define this as serious combat? Even though i agree, we don't get to decide that, this is just our opinion.

What spinacher said, assuming OPs description was accurate, this was not combat, this was random chucklefuckery. I am strongly opposed to alt-f4'ing in combat and have never done it. Like you OP i dont discriminate. I kill for stuff and feel no remorse. However if i was in the position of the guy you helped out. I would have been eternally grateful and would definitely ask to group up with you

My philosophy (assuming you are alone) 1. You are unarmed? then i wont shoot 2. I will kill you for food and ammo 3. I don't want you running around with guns that could kill me As for the whole 'don't shoot newbies' thing, i am in a grey area. You guys don't know the mindset of the killer. Personally if it is griefing/target practice, then i think that is a foolish waste of ammo. If the bandage/painkillers are needed and ammo is plentiful then i see no problem with parting with 1 round for these medical provisions

No, a slight twinge at first but no. 3 point to illustrate my thought processes: 1. If you are unarmed, i wont touch you 2. I kill for food and ammo, going into cities is risky, i will wait outside these cities and snipe you from a treeline. I am surviving just like you 3. Kind of joined with point 1, if i see you running around with a sniper rifle for example, im not going to ask if you're friendly, i don't want to have you running amok knowing you could pop my head off when i take my eyes off you. Started new character, decided to screw the coast idea and ran north into the forest. I found a barn with a sniper rifle. sweet! Hugged the coastal treeline headed for balota airstrip, found 2 corpses with more beans and cola than i could carry and a .45 pistol. Hugged the treeline again still heading east until i see a guy with the same rifle as me trying to point blank a zombie. I figure i dont have much ammo for my rifle and i would like his (dick move i know but hey its day z, plus im not taking the risk of allowing a sniper to spot me first) pop his head off and BOOM motherload, 4 tins of food, 3 cans of coke, the CZ ammo i wanted and a makarov with 2 spare clips to replace my empty .45. Head north again after that, and logged out. I think im near Zeleno. Good day
