Seriously? I think you are missing the point of an apocalyptic survival game. If you want to play an easy game, try signing up for the warz alpha testing. That game looks like its about your speed.

I'd like to see more options. I'd also like to be able to wear a ghillie suit with the female character.

Wrong...I've played with people that tried this exploit. It was funny to watch them drive through all manner of objects. It doesn't effect the vehicle in any way. Also, it really takes away from the game play. Most of the guys I played with switched back to having objects such as trees because they lost the excitement of spotting survivors/zombies in unforgiving situations. Those that exploit hacks get bored with it eventually and go back to the original or simply quit playing the game.

Sounds like hacks to me.

It's a sign of a downed helicopter, not the ones you can loot, but one players crashed (hacked in or legit fixed). The flames stay huge til you actually get close enough to the helicopter to see it, but it seems to stay til a server gets restarted.

Just a few tips for a newbie... 1. Loose zombies by line of sight, bushes and pine trees are useful. 2. Join servers that say CH:ON. It means crosshairs are on so you can use those to practice. 3. While being chased, turn around (once you have a bit of distance on them) and hit the numberpad 0 key. It slows you down but also zooms in your view to better aim. Best of luck :D

Hey I'm looking for a friendly player or two. Must be mature. I am 33 and I have a family, that means I can't devote 4-8 straight, uninterupted, hours to game play (at least, not every day). I am willing to use a mic or text only. What I can offer: My experience is a bit limited at the moment. I bought the game a week ago, but I've been watching videos and learning about the game for a few weeks prior to buying. I can navigate with or without a compass and map (using map on my ipad). I don't rage quit or throw a fit when I get sniped, but I may take a smoke break. So, if your new and want to see a friendly face or seasoned and just want an extra pair of eyes to watch your back, hit me up on steam (hisjen). If you see me in game on any server it's bigmonster. P.S. I currently frequent 2-4 servers but am looking for a more perminant home.

Because the screen is black. Even with gamma up and brightness all the way up you can't see enough to make it without exposing yourself to bandits and zombies with a chemlight or flashlight. If you are lucky enough to get a pair of NVGs then you can do a bit more. Night time gives me headaches and it kills the experience for me. On a side note, if it weren't so annoying, it would be better to play at night.

I watched a few videos on YouTube before I started playing DayZ. KoS seemed to be the only way to survive the first hour. Now that I've killed 4-5 people on sight and died to many more KoS players I've realized it's just not worth it to act like a bandit. I try to avoid players at all cost and if I die, I just head back to trying to accomplish the goals I started before meeting my untimely demise. I tried the "friendly" chat, but that doesn't work. People don't really care. I guess the best answer to your question is there is no good answer. If your willing to die over and over in hopes of a good encounter, don't KoS. But if like most people, you just want the good loot and a car, KoS and you might get to do what you want quicker.

Hey, I'm new to the game. I would like to find a good server and team up with someone. I can use a mic but I would prefer not to. I'm a chick, got a family and it's a bit weird talking to people in a game while my family is around.
