A moment or two of fiddling with the memory size option clears them up a treat for me. -
I think there are going to be a lot of disappointed people when the standalone releases and it's exactly what the title suggests, a standalone release of the current mod. Where everybody has got this idea of a second coming of christ like, entirely new game with entirely new engine from I have no idea.

Randomly spawned clues as to the cause of the infection and ongoing stories of non player characters could easily be scattered completely randomly around the world. It might even promote more conversation and less killing everyone in sight too if you could hunker down round a campfire and share these snippets of info with other players. -

There's something deliciously annoying but also hilarious about stomping round the wilderness with a Coyote backpack, ghillie suit, sniper rifle + assault rifle + pistol, full medical supplies, and still jonesing for soda and beans because the loot gods haven't delivered you matches or any water bottles. -
While the point is being made in a ridiculous way, it still does stand. Common sense would have dictated releasing a hotfix ASAP so people can actually play the game take precedence over adding dogs.

I'm not entirely sure where this idea comes from. If the standalone release uses an existing game engine, there will be 0day hacks. If it uses a newly created engine, hacks will appear within the first week. -

I've never personally seen oxygen, yet I'm still alive. -
I'm pretty sure the problem is that many people suffering from game breaking graphical artifacting issues were waiting on said hotfix that was estimated to be out already. Then rocket already announced on the Machinima live stream that he had fixed the graphical artifacting issues but the hotfix was being delayed regardless.

I fiddled about changing the memory size option a few times tonight and managed to get rid of the artifacting of death at least.

Probably not the best example, the Bloodlines early build Source engine was in such a terrible state it makes Arma 2s engine look like poetry in motion. -
