There's a difference between killing people for their loot/fun and killing someone in self defense.

Wait what game are you playing? Also yes, hand selecting the best performing and most accurate hunting/service rifles and adding precision optics to them is literally creating a sniper rifle. Just because they now make dedicated sniping rifles doesn't change that. Edit: Also the Remington 700 is a hunting rifle that military and law enforcement adopted for sniping.

This the exact reason I'm happy it takes place in fictional Chernarus.

Just because there is a disclaimer doesn't mean criticism should be censored in any way; that's the entire point of releasing a game in early access is it not? That being said there are helpful and unhelpful complaints, and also unhelpful responses to those.

Definitely like the look of this one a lot. Although it's a little premature to start talking about fancy-ing up the UI its a nice concept.

Its an alpha, they are working on implementing features and getting everything working before going through with some optimization. Welcome to a real in progress game development friend, none of that publicity stunt demo stuff here.

After the patch I hit the "Play" button without thinking the server hadn't updated yet; and lo and behold I spawned where I left my old character just without any gear. I got really lucky with that dude, he will be missed.

Hello, Apologies in advance if this has been covered, I've been following the game for a while and did a search around the forums and couldn't find anything. I often find myself wondering what could be lurking nearby when coming across a body. From a distance I can usually tell if there is any gear or not on it, and a silenty surveying of the scene has helped me stay alive on a few occasions. However when you do aproach the body there really is no way to tell what happened to the poor soul. If he is missing his gear, was he murdered and robbed? Or was he mauled by zombies and simply picked clean? An interesting idea might be to allow the player to check a dead survivor's status (although with the ARMA action menu getting the boot it could add an unnecesary key to the mix). Walking up and checking their status could reveal if the body was still warm, cool, or cold; and reveal whether they had been hit with something, mauled, or shot. A warm body full of bullet holes could alert you to bandits close by, or even a cold body with all its gear could signal an impending ambush (in all fairness though its probably too late by then). I'm not sure what kind of ideas the team might have regarding player model damage and so forth, so features to come could completely negate the usefulness of it (and its usefulness in the first place could be up for debate). Feel free to discuss or tell me I'm an idiot, just a thought I pertaining to some recent situations I've had in the game. Cheers! HH Edit: Just occured to me that a lot of people probably bite the dust from thirst or hunger, so a check could reveal that there were no visible signs of trauma or something.

Kind of strange that I'm crouched behind a house and a zombie comes phasing through the walls and hits me. They phased before but it wasn't really as noticeable, but now that they can see you from a mile away I'm running into that issue a lot.

I usually find myself with extra can openers and end up giving them away to newbies. Just have to be lucky I guess, but you really have to look.

You can open a can by grinding the top of it against concrete for a minute or two without worrying about losing anything like you would by bashing it. How about a one minute, interrupt-able action to do so?

Did you go back the character configuration, make your dude, and click "Set Default" before killing her?

"Hey guys look at all this work we've done to improve the lighting system at night. Oh, nope we're just going to undo it all so you can't see at night again. :]" Can't see it happening (pun?).

I've got a friend on my list that just launched the game and is now running around and playing.

The only problem is that I've had servers bug out so I can't interact with anything and need to hop to a new one to do anything. The timeout would be preferable to simply locking you to one server.

Let me stop you right there. "Me and my group", exactly. You have a group of people to play with and work together with. Yes PvP belongs in this game, you need to be able to shoot people, I just wish people would be more discriminative with the people they shoot. You don't need to be that unarmed guys friend, you don't have to welcome him to your group or give him anything. Point your guns at him and tell him to go away, save the bullets for someone that has something worthwhile if you are a bandit, or for another armed group if you are just trying to survive.

Shooting a new spawn without any gear is a waste of ammo, but they don't care because they get decked out in empty servers/with their friends with enough gear to run back and forth with ease. I've met some fun people, even when we all had fully loaded ARs. I've traded food and medical supplies with geared up people in the woods, let a group of dudes borrow my can opener, been given a blood transfusion by a nice man with a Mosin. But I've also been shot in the face without any gear and then called a "faggot" over direct chat. There are fun people out there, but generally they become soured by bad experiences with people that get a kick out of it.

So have I been hording water purification tablets for no reason? I've always drank from wells/items.

So much more interesting and fun than simply shooting the poor unarmed sod in the face without knowing what he has on him. I like how you guys tried to do the honorable thing and give him a bit of food afterwards as well, almost like a blood drive where you get some juice and a cookie afterwards haha.

Especially since you can spam drink right from the fountain. Fill your belly damn near instantly.

Realistic or not it'd make the game more appealing, especially if you consider that most people play in the evenings when servers are dark.

I've noticed it affected me on one or two servers. I switched servers and doors functioned fine. :s
