PvE is against the rules for the time being. You'll have to stick to the woods and play squirrel until private servers come about.

Like I said, if its against the rules then they'll get shut down so why make such a 'holy crusade' about it? When you see a server with "no profanity" in the title do you join in and start cursing just because the game's dialogue contains profanity? This thread is no better than QQing about the bugs in the alpha, just report it and get on with your life.

You said you understood what the alpha was, but this statement clearly shows you don't. The point of Q+A and testing is to find those bugs and fix them, so that they do not happen in the long run. Generally it would be someone's job, as in they would be paid to sit there and play the game. They find the bugs, write up the reports, and shoot them back to the appropriate development members. Recently, developers have found that our instant gratification generation are willing to pay to play the games as early as possible, and ultimately end up as free+ labor. Think of it as someone paying you for the opportunity to check for leaks in the pipes under your home. They have their own in house tests, obviously, but this early access stuff is the perfect way to test what the product will ultimately perform like on the grand scale of release (iirc, the main idea is stress and scale testing). Now you are not obligated in any way to bug-hunt the game. You bought access to an early version with nothing more than a pinky swear to deliver a completed version at... sometime later in the future. But you really should not be involved in early access projects unless you are committed to the idea of the project, and want to help it improve and be the best damn product possible. The early, unfinished product labels aren't big enough. They should lock up your computer until you type out the entire statement in big red letters and read it back to the computer twice. As someone that has tested games in a very strict and stringent environment before, this format is very bizarre. I think it could be a beautiful thing, but there has to be a way to make it abundantly, face slapping-ly, fool proofing-ly clear EXACTLY what the whole idea of it is. Please, in the future, when you find a bug in an early access product (even though I still strongly advise against participating in the future) that could annoy players and hinder gameplay in the way it affected you, report it properly. Don't make a thread complaining that you won't be playing the game anymore, claiming "I know its alpha but..." Report the bug, through the proper channels, and if it stops you from playing so be it; don't play anymore. But save the headaches and the drama. This early access thing could prove to be either one of the best or worst chapters in the history of our still young entertainment medium.

So a bug caused you to stop playing an alpha where the idea is to test for said bugs. Definitely refrain from participating in early access in the future if you can't handle bugs in the proper manner.

Actually the people paying for the server can kick you for literally any reason they like. Just don't play on it and you'll be fine, if its against the rules it'll be gone soon anyway so why do you care. You knock them for trying to control how people play without realizing that you are doing the same by trying to control how they want to play.

East of the military base at Zeleno is a nice treeline with some thick evergreens to hide in. Its far enough away from where most people will be to safely spawn, with a great overlook and cover to survey Zeleno before moving in.

I like Zeleno. You have the military barracks at the southern edge which contains lots of nice goodies, and then you have a fairly large town with a good mix of big and small residential buildings.

Every story needs a villain. I just wish people wouldn't get so soured by being killed. Its nice when you run into someone with nothing but a wrench that doesn't automatically hate you on sight because they've been killed before. A real bandit would bide their time and use you to get themselves stronger instead of sprinting and flailing their wrench like a madman lol.

As annoying as being murdered for no reason is, this is pretty funny. One thing I've loved about the new DayZ is the emergent gameplay; from roaving bands of vampires to disinfectant spray finding a new use. I just hope you guys "RP" via direct chat and don't just giggle along and internet high five in your 3rd party VOIP. Otherwise it just kinda ruins the whole RP angle here.

I've amassed a fair collection in only a few days of running between larger towns and military bases. Not quite that big, which could be due to hopping but either way: you murdered him and its yours now.

Yes we should definitely give players the ability to create suicide bombs because that isn't going to be exploited or game-ruiningly annoying in any way.

Just add delays and limits, don't lock characters to servers because people do have legitimate reasons to switch servers. Add log-out delays and number of server switch limits. If I'm going to log off or switch servers for whatever reason I run off into the woods and hide under a pine tree, so I won't mind sitting there for 30 seconds or so. And I'm not going to find a laggy or bugged server so many times that I'd run over a daily limit of a couple switches.

If you want realism I can think of multiple ways to be able to carry multiple ARs on my body with a backpack, especially presuming they have slings (how else do you carry it on your back?) Yes its great that you can't just shove it in your backpack, but the idea that carrying only one M4 is realistic is ridiculous. It's a gameplay decision.

Try the military bases. I am not very well versed in the map yet but my go to ones are at Balota (although that is very dangerous), between Kamenka and Pavlovo, the fires station in Elektro, and the one at the south end of Zelenogorsk. I am not sure what other ones are out east by Elektro. Once you develop a pattern it can be pretty easy to amass a large quantity. I have never been able to find pistol mags though.

You're a very angry person. You're also someone who doesn't seem to understand that this is an alpha and you probably shouldn't have bought it. There's a difference between reporting issues and acting like a petulant child, I'm sure its obvious even to you which category you fall under. Take a deep breath, and consider coming back when the game is in a better state. I'm sure you'll have more enjoyment then.

It's not really a good idea to change the way a game plays when you are trying to test it for function, but hey they paid for the server I guess they can do what they like.

Not hard to find a water pump, you can spam drink to your heart's content.

I often let people borrow my can opener, if they tried to steal it I could easily "get it back"; but most say thanks and drop it for me. If I have another I'll usually give it to some friendly survivor. Just remember that you can always use a screwdriver or something, just put it in your hands and right clicking on the can should come up with "Open can with Fireaxe/Screwdriver/etc".

If you put the screwdrivers/pliers/etc in your hand you can use them to open cans of food. Most of the other clothing stuff is cosmetic aside from storage space at the moment, but in the future will add protection and boosts and stuff.
