Eh it takes time to add these sorts of things in. Plus the "get go" from an in-development piece of software is the initial idea for said product. People get mad when you mention "alpha" but it literally means that the game is being built, and each thing needs to be built by an artist or a programmer and then implemented in. The lack of spraypaintable helmets doesn't reflect on laziness, it just means the artist had something more pressing to do (like new weapons and whatnot) than creating a black texture for the helmet.

Those are bugs with the entire set of gun mechanics, adding a new pistol isn't going to magically fix them... a Glock with a suppressor and a light is going to act the exact same way. Also I believe the maximum caliber they manufacture the Glock in is .45, the exact same as the FNX pistol. So no it won't have better stopping power. Its from STALKER, all of their weapon models are backwards.

Looks like the exact same helmet just with different paintjobs. Probably be able to find the UN one, and paint the regular one green or black. Still patiently waiting for the Russian steel pots to show up.

I can make some pretty damned long distance shots on zeds with the SKS. Haven't had to fight with it yet, but I think I'll stick with it because of the semi auto capability.

You know, you aren't really helping your country's reputation all that well. It takes place in Chernorus, therefor you see signs in Cyrillic. Its not hard to figure out where you are anyway, even if you don't know the names you can remember what each name LOOKS like.

As far as I know the team wants these sorts of things to be player created. Once we can build fortifications, tents, etc I could see myself organizing such a thing on my own server. Having it raided by bandit groups from time to time could make for some pretty awesome gameplay.

History and personal experience dictates that people wearing the masks will kill you 100% of the time. I don't like murdering anyone, but I'll blow away anyone that approaches me with one of those things on.

Because they want you to actually play the game. I'd be all for it, I've seen so many MMO players that don't pay any attention with their autorun key on they'd be perfect targets to pick off. Dead before they drop their hotpockets.

I stopped going once the tents stopped spawning loot, because they were the best places to reliably find attachments. Plus I've kinda swapped out the M4 and piles of loot for an SKS and low profile gear.

Sometimes dumb admins accidentally switch to global. I've also heard it being bugged out before and happening randomly rather than a hack.

You're the reason people get pissed off when anyone mentions that the game is in alpha state. He STATED his experiences in the 100 slot servers, there wasn't a shred of complaining in that first post. Revert the punch back to your own face.

Uhm, you should just play DayZ to get the DayZ mechanics down, because they play quite differently.

Most of the time you can't even hear the gunshot. Once they overhaul the sounds and sounds systems it'll be much better.

The sound blows. Its about as loud as a suppressed AR15 using supersonic ammo. It doesn't have to be deafening but it should have a much bigger crack and rolling echo like a gunshot does. Hell my old .22 Cooey from when I was a kid sounds beefier.

That is one of the worst places you can log, lots of traffic on low pop servers from hoppers and timid looters. Plus you said you heard voices, clearly there were people around.

Looting the NWAF can take a bit of time, so someone looting all of it may even beat the timer.

I am actually quite surprised at the high population. Generally I don't see a whole lot of near constantly full hardcore servers, in my area anyway. Sometimes even have trouble joining it myself. If you guys keep playing on it, I will keep running it. :] I've met a lot of regulars already, and had quite a few people add me on Steam to say they enjoy playing on the server. Its pretty cool, I guess we'll see where this goes further into the game's development. Cheers! Edit: There's a Steam group as well if you like.
