    Cover at long range

    Anecdotal I know but yes - that's what it does. You see grass in front of you, through an enemy's scope (depending on how far away you are) you will appear to be sunk into the ground. As such only a sliver of your head may be visible to him. Imperfect - but if you are trying to land hits at extreme range it is effective enough. In terms of the mod it helps, but grass is at best only concealment. It is wiser to observe from, and rely on, some form of solid cover e.g. trees. They're good enough to stop incoming rounds.

    [Video] DayZ so far

    Since 1.5.7 players aren't so much of an issue - the few that shot at me drew EVERYTHING. This is a dry look at life surviving up north so far. I regret not catching a cock up at the airfield on another visit that saw 10 minutes or more of non-stop zombie mowing. Maybe next time...
  3. Resupplying on the NW airfield only to end up with a bandit ~100m away. Both froze. I had M9 SD and he had an AK74. I rolled to cover (doubt the M9 would've landed a hit) just as he opened fire...Yeah he made friends with ALL the zombies. I was planning on lobbing a smoke grenade at him to achieve the same goal but I guess some people just have a helpful nature.

    Wouldn't hurt it to be tweaked slightly I think.

    I hear what you're saying (snapped a twig in town, 30+ dead zeds and no ammo later...) though quite frankly I don't know if ArmA can be twisted to make it happen. I wouldn't be surprised - we have this after all.

    The New Zombie Count is AWESOME

    I love the masses of zombies, don't mind having less but the terror factor of having to deal with 20+ of them going nuts on the airfield was pure adrenaline yum-ness.
