The number of sniper rifles in this thread is TOO DAMN HIGH. Do not put a bunch of sniper rifles into DayZ. Please. That was the lamest part about the mod. If you want giant maps where you can snipe people all day long, play Battlefield 4. This is a zombie apocalypse survival game. 1 or 2 sniper rifles is plenty. They should be rare, the parts should be rarer, and they should require constant maintenance to keep in working order so if you want to be a sniper, you have to troll around cities trying to find parts to keep your gun working. It should be hard to amass more than 5 or 10 rounds at a time.

Blurry vision after a fight. NOW FULL and no thirst or hunger. If I lay down in forrest will VISION GET CLEAR AGAIN?
bjason1 replied to venkman302's topic in General Discussion
Also you need to be well fed and hydrated to regen your blood. This does not mean fed and hydrated enough to turn off your warning indicators, keep eating and drinking then do it some more. It's nearly impossible to get full but you'll get warnings when you are close. I'd say 30 drinks and 30 eats to be safe. -
My version number is 113860, per the patch notes. I notice that many servers are running 113862. Is this intended or should we be cautious about logging into servers running 113862? I don't want to log in to a char wipe.

I've noticed since the .29 patch that in addition to the "Your thirst has been quenched" and "Your hunger has been satisfied" status messages being removed, it is no longer possible to get full. Can anyone please confirm? I ate 2 bags of rice and several cans of beans, more than 36 total "eats" and I was unable to get full. However, I believe my blood is regenerating.

Anyone else having issue with blank server list within the last 10 - 15 minutes?
-
Much less KOS right now. I agree that so far the Alpha feels like end-game is similar to that of the mod, but much slower in progression. It takes longer to get to the end game. That said, I almost never talked with anyone in the mod, but I've already had several player interactions that ended in just saying goodbye and not killing each other. I really like this new atmosphere. I hope it keeps up!

Can Helo Crash Sites Spawn Antibiotics?
bjason1 replied to bjason1's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Thanks for your help everyone. I made it into Berezino last night so I think I'm going to spend the day cycling the loot there. -
I am heavily geared out and have recently contracted the "cough". I understand I need antibiotics but would like to avoid Berezino Chern and Elektro (where all the main hospitals are). Does anyone know if helo crash sites can spawn antibiotics? Or, is there anywhere else to get antibiotics other than the hospital? Any help would appreciated. Thanks!

So I was just on US950 and I came upon a group of guys outside Komorovo. They were definetely hacking. Spawning all types of weapons, items and vehicles, including what appeared to be a silver honda civic. They also spawned about 50 bear traps and laid them all around their gear. I was sitting silently watching and pretending to be a corpse until a guy runs up to me. Turns out he was friendly. He filled my inventory with all types of stuff, including an AS50 TWS that has a scope that is insane, range finders, like everything I could possibly ask for. Very nice guy. Is this going to get me banned now? At this point, I've just about had it with all the hacking in DayZ anyway. Last night was the first time I've played in a couple weeks and about 60 seconds after I log on, in a Ghillie, under a tree, in a forest in the middle of no where, a guy appears out of no where and just blasts me into oblivion. So I got on today to start fresh and this is what happens. I'd rather not be banned but at this point, does it really even matter? edit: the guys also spawned cows on parachutes falling out of the sky. Crazy.

Check out the stream its full of excitement and laughs

I just watched you get owned in Elektro. Way to aggressive man. There was 2 of them and you just went guns blazing full auto right into both of them. This isn't left4dead. -
Fair enough man. I just feel really defeated at this point. It used to be so much fun surviving and fighting bandits in this game. I guess I'll just play knowing that hackers will find me and kill me eventually.

So I'm all geared out and I know if there's one thing you have to learn about DayZ, it's: Don't get attached to your gear. Respawning in Cherno and battling your way out is half the fun of this game. That being said, my char is now 10 days old, I have an L85 and an AS-50 and a Ghillie Suit and all necessary survival tools. I roamed the Chernarus for Dayz collecting all my stuff. Sadly, I am now too afraid to play. I logged in yesterday evening and hadn't been on for about 5 minutes when I got raged on by a script kiddy that teleported to me and started lighting me up with a weapon I've never seen from about 2 feet away. Luckily, I disconnected with about 2000 blood left. I proceeded to shrug it off and get on another server, where I played for about 30 minutes, killed a cow and got some blood back. As I made my way to Novy Sobor for some bandit murdering (I can't go to Stary because of the graphical glitch and most people are in the same predicament, so I've been finding them next to Novy instead) BAM - teleported into what I think was a tower of some sort with about a dozen other players. I think it was everyone on the server. I didn't bother to see what the hell was happening, I just disconnected again. I have not logged back on since. This is just yesterday, I could go on for DayZ with stories of the various hacks I've seen, from instant death for everyone on the server to some kind of Jets bombing Elektro. I am now too afraid to play, as I'll lose my weeks worth of gathering gear. Rocket, please do something about hacking. At this point, shouldn't you have some investors and the funds necessary to develop your own server side anti-cheat? What is going on? The population of this game is in rampant decline and LITERALLY every server has hackers on it running amock. Until something is done, or until I can make a secondary character to play with, I'm not logging on.

Sorry you have no real life obligations and you sit around playing video games all day. When you grow up a little you'll have to learn how to balance your life or you'll end up with a fat ass ugly wife, ugly children, and no money to buy a worthwhile computer to run the next cool game.

Hi Rocket, First off, props for getting another update ready to go so quickly (in relative terms) and even more so for creating one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played in my 20 some-odd years of gaming. I believe you are making an error with the implementation of the prevention for the disconnect problem. The solution you are proposing is over-complicated and will likely lead to further issues down the line. Off the top of my head, the first issue I see here is having to take a piss. DayZ is a game where getting up for any longer than 5 seconds to can lead to 5 hours of running around dodging bullets and picking up stuff. I’m not saying that part of the game isn’t fun, but I don’t want to have to put myself in that position to avoid taking a ‘reputation hit’. If I have to piss, listen to my gf blabber, play for 15 minutes, change the laundry, or any other of Real Life’s responsibilities, it is going to look like I’m disconnecting to avoid death and possibly defame my survivor. The real solution here is simple: Log timers. 15 seconds to log out will solve: PvE disconnecting and PvP disconnecting. I understand it won’t solve server hopping to farm gear, but let’s face it, that is dangerous in its own right. Anyone that’s been playing this game for a few months knows it’s easier to sit in the NAWF barracks and wait for players to spawn in than to actually switch servers over and over again to get gear. Server hoppers drop good loot. Thank you for taking the time to read this post and consider my opinions. Please consider starting with a very simple solution and working your way toward a more complex one.
