I have noticed i am unable to log into servers with 0 players? Is there a reason for this. I will always hang at "loading" i have even waited up to 15 minutes a couple times just to see if for some reason it takes longer ... like maybe the server needs to wake up. I dunno. I have tried at least 3 dozen times over the last few weeks and never get into the game. I have little trouble otherwise as long as there is 1 person on the server. Anyone have any ideas.

I concur. I have been using the G17 for a few days now. Long as you have good aim on head shots the G17 is far superior and i have found the sights better as well so for me its a no brainer. Plus you can also use M9 and M9SD ammo. So while not as plentyfull as the .45cal 1911 rounds with the larger clip size u wont need to restock as often or can save storage slots. Flashlight is nice too if you play at night. I also like the PDW, large mag, full auto, great for spray and pray.

Some of them the 0 servers are ones i have played and marked as favorite so they have been good. I never play a ping over 50 and most times its below 30. The last 2 days i have been trying 0 player servers just to test the idea. If i am stuck on loading more than 60 seconds i know i am not getting in and move on. Thanks for input people.

Inland or Coastal Isolation?

I view vehicles and camps same as i do cell phones in RL. They are like a leash and slow me down. Gimme a Czech or Alice pack, a decent assault rifle and handgun (currently M4A1 & G17) and im good to go. To me a post apoc setting is a fluid situation and planting roots is unwise. If i cant carry it, i dont need it. -
If this is done legit then fine i have no problem with it. Folks who hack just to grief concern me. I want to see a study on on how much jail time kids like this accumulate by the age 40. As i have said before hackers have a much lighter impact on me in games like this because you can't get attached to the character/gear. After a month of playing i am already finding it too easy to gear up.

anger/jealousy are fear based emotions, revenge is an extreme and desperate act and a form of crying. In my book suicide is a bit less extreme and in many cases is also an act of revenge. But whats this got to do with dayz? Why am i here? -

Revenge is the most extreme form of crying. Stop with the excuses, have your cry and get back in the game. -
For me a game like this makes hackers less relevant to spoiling my fun because ... this is perma death, full loot everything is at risk at all times. Starting fresh is the norm and if you are the type of player that gets attached to your stuff then this kind of game probably isn't for you. I have been playing a month now and have gotten my moneys worth.

Yeah when i think of folks with tents i think of that hoarder tv show my wife is always watching. (how anyone can watch that show more than once is beyond me, yeah im married to a sicko) Anyway ... i am a lone wolf, if i can't carry it i don't need it. Found a tent once, carried it in my alice pack till i found a good stash of food. Tried to deploy it just to see if i could but it wouldnt deploy. My thinking is i would never put anything in a tent i couldnt afford to loose so why bother. Just gimme, a decent firearm, some ammo, food, drink, basic meds and a comfortable pair a boots and im good to go. -
Had a good run going last couple days and I log in to a some completly desolate place called wilderness. I see a message that i am dead. Is it a bug, or hack or just business as usual? I log out right away and pick another server , log in and even though i didn't go through the select male/female skin screen I am on the beach near Chernogorsk. Ok fine, look at my inventory and i have nothing not even a backpack. I also notice my stats are what they were before this mess started. Food meter low, blood level at about 10.5k and zombies killed/head shots were what they should be. I just wonder if there Is something i messed up or do i just chalk it up as shit happens.

First couple times i had one it would display the entire playing field. Last several times i get only 1 quadrant and if im lucky it will be the Quad im in. Sometimes i can zoom out and see more area but detail is lost and it isn't helpful. Is this a know bug? Working as designed? (most likely) Are my map skills worse than a 12 year old female? Any and all input appreciated. Side note: because of the above my land marking skills have improved so using the DayZDB map in conjunction has been working decently well.

Thanks for the ideas. Not sure where u refer to the "check local cache fies 9or something" The .exe file or where but i didnt find it. Dont usually run steam.

OK i guess im done playing with explosives. I blow myself up every time. I know the "F" key will cycle through what u have bot what loads them to be thrown. Again today i thought i was firing my handgun and next thing i know away (20m maybe) a concussion grenade. Then, realizing i had tossed it i turn to run and my movements are frozen. Had the thing gone off already? I never heard a sound. Any tips on using any thrown items or do i just stay away from things that go boon?

The game is ruined by cheaters if you allow the cheaters to dictate your fun. I don’t, never have. Chances are i wouldn’t even recognize a cheater or hack if i came across one. There will always be cheaters, always be ass hats. If they get to you they have won and you might as well go play checkers or maybe watch the grass grow. I take everything that happens in game as an opportunity no matter how odd or strange it may be. Shit happens in life as it does in game. Good news is ... in DayZ only avatars are harmed Understand the nature of the game and don’t expect it to be something it isn’t. Understand that the other player is not here to have your version of a good time.

Playing almost 4 weeks now and the "everyone shoots on sight" has been the exception for me. Has only happened once and i never even saw the guy. What i get for being complacent and not clearing the house first. Several other encounters (perhaps 6) have all been helpful.

If you are a player who is easily frustrated then this is probably not a game for you. Better they find out sooner than later -
Realistic expectations my friend. One has to understand the nature of the game and adapt or move on. This is a survival scenario where anything goes. The way i see it this is the core of the game and if you change it you might as well change the name to Hearts and Flowers Z. Open PvP is not for everyone. Myself im not cutthroat but i sure as hell enjoy the risk/reward thrill that this game provides
