good tutorial and i really appreciate the work that went into it as well as sharing it with the community. sadly, in my humble personal opinion, the arma server browser plainly sucks.. i stick with dayzcommander - everything i need in a proper, modern, usable interface and can launch through steam too..

at least its no battleship...

creating redundancy within the supply chain adds resilience to the enterprise. i am glad to see that many concurrent initiatives emerge to help those in need. my current approach is to deliver med supplies in person to the medic in need, just finished my first run yesterday, from elektro hospital to the sabor area. I would gladly offer to drop supplies into both your depots and Survivor-Kyles network in future, with whom i already been in contact. Add me on steam

finding rare gems among a sea of frustration is, what makes it so rewarding. this is both true for that sweet military loot and for the great friendly encounter. dont give in to frustration. In the end, i rather die once more than killing potential friendlies on sight and thus contributing to the general distrust.

Today i finished my first supply run and thats how I met +Ben+. I sat in Novy Sabor with my backpack full of med supplies, and Ben and Lynx replied to my offer. We three planned to meet together, hang out and pool our supplies, but Lynx wasnt able to make it, as he was too far away for the wee hours in europe, and his bike was sadly gone. Ben supplied me with dearly needed food and water and quickly dispatched the intruding Z with his badass silenced gun. He was more than happy to throw away the excess weaponry in his backpack and stuff it with medical supplies for the good of his patients. He is definitely one of the good guys. So while i head back south to get more meds, i do it with the good feeling that there is one more committed medic roaming the highlands, equipped and willing to help those in need.

Medics bored? this cant be! I break my legs on purpose if need arises, lol. No, just kidding. Actually, i could use one of you medics in the Sobor area. I brought blood bags and a pack of antibiotics for those in need of restocking and took shelter in Nowy Sobor. Cant travel further since my blood level is dropping rapidly due to starvation. sorry for late report, real life interfering :D First of all, many thanks to MikaelM. He sprinted to my location to patch me up, and not only did he that, but also gave me some of his medical supplies and a spare assault rifle + ammo, plus a pat on my back :) Many thanks also to sya - he was available as backup and also offered to cook for me! I am such a lucky bastard :D continuing my way up north now in the hope to supply medics in need..

hey guys. since I recently dedicated my game to supply runs for medics, i went into elektro today. seems it wasnt a lucky day to do so, shortly upon entering the city from the west i was attacked by an evil door, which broke my legs without even closing. i crawled through the whole city via railway-station and church to the hospital, where i found a few blood bags, epi-pens and painkillers. trying to escape to the hills in the north, i found morphine in a residential building, so could walk away. the occasional zed wasnt much of a problem, and so i managed to escape the city with only a few scars (~8000 blood). walking straight norht, killing a wild boar on my way, i was careless enough to check out the fort in Rog. where i was backstabbed by a ladder. The one-story drop luckily didnt break a bone, but cost me some blood, and attracted the roaming infected. Hatcheting my way out of this miserable place, i dropped into the foliage with barely over 3k blood. barely seeing anything, i tried to get the supplies further north before contacting a medic who might need them, and so finally landed at the gas station on the outskirts of Staroye. Inside, i thought it was a good idea to turn around while prone, and broke my legs again between the wall and the counter. So there i am, 3k blood, blinking-starved, legs broken, in the gas station at Staroye. I wouldnt mind walking (well, crawling) out into the open and valiantly dying while killing a few zed, but i would love to give the blood and antibiotics in my backpack to some medic first. would break my heart to waste the stuff. I tried contacting Aggroschnarre who was in need of antibiotics but he seems away in steam, so i post it here. I'll be available for the next half an hour and need to be off for afew hours then due to real life appointments. Contact me on steam if you're in the area. ok, i say it even if it could get me empty tin cans thrown at my head: 1. its alpha. be prepared that the game may be disrupted anytime without noticce, be prepared that core game features might break anytime without notice, be prepared that there might be rollbacks, loss of databases, character wipes etc anytime without notice - so dont stress yourself when there is actually a downtime. game is fabulously stable for alpha stage. 2. its OA Maintenance, not DayZ dont shoot the DayZ team, its beyond their control. As far as i read on the Bohemia Interactive forums, its also beyond their control. that said, chill out, eat some beans, read the announcements, read a book, watch a movie or troll on the internet, i am sure the guys responsible are working hard to bring the servers back online ASAP.

this morning, i broke my leg. this wouldnt be much of a news in chernarus, but for me, it was an epiphany (thats a smartass way of saying: i got it). a day earlier, my life was saved by a combined operation of two brave and committed medics, who teamed up across continents and time zones to make a loong and dangerous travel to save me from certain death. despite all their efforts, my life now came to an end. and as i sat here, i realized, that as thrilling as surviving the first minutes on the beach may be, as gratifing as getting your hands on that particular gear item may be, what matters in the end is what we do with this (mostly short) life in chernarus. WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH YOUR GEAR. WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF TERRAIN. WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH YOUR EXPERIENCE. (sorry, i felt that this is one of the few times when capslock is appropriate) medical supplies are rare, and demand is high. the highest demand for meds have - you guessed it - the medics. and they need them for all the right reasons. so my endgame, my goal, my meaning of life in this forsaken place now is to gather medical supplies, and to bring them to medics in the need. a high goal, and my first successful gather&deliver mission is yet to come. but i have hope - and a goal to strive for. what is your endgame?

I am absolutely a fan of weapon variety. BUT - i absolutely with the concerns regarding military weaponry. I would far more love to see more melee weapons, and military weaponry decreased. i love my hatchet, and occasionally, theres nothing more fun than going all Gordon Freeman with a crowbar. I advocate the addition of large axes, bludgeons, makeshift maces and polearms (like street signs or fence poles) and similar. Increased focus on melee weapons (and reduction of the overabundant firearms ammo) would also make Zeds more of a factor. I am a total noob to the game but i dont fear Zed - the only real danger in this game are bone-crushing doors and trigger-happy players. of course, thats just my largely unfounded opinion, as i am new to the game. guns are always fun, so i kind of understand the OPs approach. I just think if you are forced into melee combat more often, game would gain. Also shooting accidents among friendlies might decrease :D

i tried 'ninja-friending' some medics through steam, but i understand thats not necessarily the best or most efficient way :) i am currently down to 3,3k blood with legs broken, could crawl through zeds to a settlement and sit tight in a house in Mogilevka, north of Prigorodky. its just 2 days ago that i read about the dedication and commitment of the medic movement inspired by doc wasteland, telling my wife that maybe i can one day meet one and serve his cause as courier or guard - and now i sit here, clinching to whats left of my life, not ready to give up - hoping to survive another day. my steam name is: elementfortyseven - in case some compassionate fellow happens to be in the proximity ready to patch me up.
