beans for giving the issue thought and effort but i fear, that every system will be "figured out" and abused, similarly how bandits farmed hero skin in the mod. also, i fail to see on what actions exactly your system bases its assertion of a personas character. if a bandit shoots at me, misses me, i shoot back in defense and hit him, am i the bad guy now? -
i wish people would stop using tinypic, its horrendous. i'd say its an anti-aliasing flimmer on the transparency edge, but thats pure speculation

dont die. spawn system is work in progress, and its current function is not to entertain players, but to test and balance spawns. keep spawning and playing while data is collected. welcome to feature testing. edit: solnichny is pretty rad, you can walk up to berezino, you can go to the dolina-polana-staroye triangle (my preferred area) or you can go south to elektro. its really one of the best places to spawn, as it offers so many possible routes -

my experience is that the amount of loot is just obscenely high, and many servers additionally restart every few hours thus refreshing the loot points. but i dont see a point is speed-gearing, i enjoy slow exploration, so maybe thats just me -

hey, the topic title is what we'd like to see - i dont care whats impossible :) - toxic storms that severly affect the health of everyone without shelter or special protective clothing - mutated wildlife string enough to rip apart an armed platoon - swamp and quicksand - floods - limited-time events revealing parts of the background story - limited-time events introducing special loot items for the duration of the event - ships washed ashore, decomposing over a timeframe of maybe two weeks, creating limited supply of special loot / special infected -
i walked from mogilevka to staroye yesterday - for two hours. came through mogilevka three times on my way. it was fun and i laughed on ts3 with my buddy who was waiting there - (i know, 3rd party VOIP is cheating..) see, i had no map, no compass, and a clear sky. i had the wrong landmark referenced twice, thus leading me in a large circle, until i finally found my error and managed to find my way to staroye. it was a (mis-)adventure, an anecdote to tell friends at the campfire, how i suffered the curse of mogilevka.. for the remainder of the play session, we joked about how the next settlement looming in the distance is probably mogilevka again, pulling my soul back in.. those are the stories of dayz. fuck dayzdb.

KoS you know i love you like the brother i never had, but this time you are Don Quixote fighting against wind mills. separate map parts make sense in two ways to me: one is that regional maps do not cover the whole area, thus you need several pieces, second is that due to mayhem and destruction of the apocalypse, only certain parts are readable and thus usable. to compromise for game mechanics, it is handled as currently implemented. i think it increases immersion, and it also resonates with that little collector deep in me i enjoy it much. even though i currently only can navigate the east half of the map. but thats cool - i imagine a goat has eaten the western part.

ya know, those threads are also great for postwhoring. new people wanna be bean kings too, eh? also, while it is repetitive to us, its new to every single new guy posting it. i'd rather give them the benfit of doubt. all that said, i notice myself becoming a condescending grumpy old man at times. -
DayZ is NOT fun for new players, which makes me worried.

Alright, I don't mean to be abrasive, but I am sick and tired of seeing people flame the new guys for trying to contribute. Can we STOP being elitist jerks again and again? if you're offended by repetitive threads, dont read them, stop your armchair moderation attempts and enjoy other things. if you want to help, point out that it has been suggested before, and what your experienced reaction to the topic was in a humble and polite manner #learn2forum #lessQQmoarPEWPEW -
generally, those are wonderful, immersive suggestions. but - as a medic carebear - i am against dictating or punishing a certain playstyle. the asshattery of vile sociopaths is countered by the unconditional love of enlightened humanists like me, and while murderous dickheads draw their satisfaction from killing others, i draw it from handing out transfusions and can openers. it wouldnt feel as good if everybody was a samaritan now, would it? also, every drama needs the potential redemption. i would like to think that evildoers can change into lambs on a moments notice if they so choose also, the fourth point of your clarification leaves me shaking my head, as there is no way to track motivation behind the actions of a player, and thus discern between punishable and legitimate actions.

put offensive content rules into the eula, hand out suspensions for breaking, and drawing dicks and swastikas will surely be reduced to a minimum. but i agree on the "realism" thing - we dont have color printers at hand in the apocalypse, so we should be limited to stitching crude shapes upon finding the required materials. +1

for dayz mod player , what do you love or hate about the SA ?

i am missing real environment improvments. grass and foliage that you can actually hide in for example, or grass that doesnt clip through buildings obviously missing features that are down the line to be added (again) like huntable animals, harvestable veggies (shrooms n pumpin stew would go great with grilled rabbit); vehicles, tents and stashes environment interaction is lacking, having to take 120 sips over a course of twenty minutes instead of choosing "drink until full" once is not realism but usability failure there are many little things that i miss, but those do not detract too much from the overall joy and fun. its rough around the edges, there are many palceholders, but you can see the potential already, and it makes me shiver with anticipation :) there are many little (or some not so little) things that i absolutely love, like the weapon attachment system, the extensive medical system, the degradation/durability system, multilayered clothing as part of the inventory system, the new sky and clouds.. i actually shat on all danger and stood in the middle of NWAF yesterday to admire the sun going up great fun alltoghether -
its a solution to the demands of the community for more fiber
