    Sure, that works. Really only want this for those times when you all start fresh, for whatever reason. Beyond that, its the same rule-sets as before. .

    Um, if we all spawn at the same point, spend hours moving inland, and one of us dies. Other than I got to play with my friends. What part of the difficulty changed? They still have to now find the group, and all that comes with it. .

    I do not believe I made that assertion. Simply that map knowledge is not something we have. I was describing the elements that make finding friends, friends you may have even invited to play the game with you, take a long time.

    I'm sorry you feel this suggestion is BS. I do not feel using my evenings playtime finding my friends to be rewarding, especially as then, my playtime is over. I want to play with my friends, its quite fun to play with them. I enjoy the harshness of the game, with exception of this. Let it be harsh, while I play with friends. It impacts little. .

    That may be your experience, but its not mine. We are not ArmA players in the sense we know the map. Figuring out where we are, to even tell others, THEN figuring out what direction to head in to meet up takes a long time. Why change this? Because the game is more fun with friends. Obviously, this suggestion is for Coastal spawns only. The ones we already have, or change them away from major loot centers, just let us pick for reasons of playing with friends. The alternative is constant suicide until the random spawn point matches. This does the same thing, but puts strain on the hardware, it also takes quite a while with all the spawn bugs and whatnot.
  7. The speed of the current zombies do not match the speed of actions implied by the ARMA 2 systems, like animations, or gunplay. Hence we have warping, hard to hit, walking through walls and delayed "death" non-zombies. I would prefer slower, but more varied ( like a corps that springs to life on looting ), or exploding type, or belching type ETC.. Lots of stuff to pull from. Sprinters should be more rare than they are now.

    I don't personally play games to be punished though. I feel, in the tradition of roguelikes. The death is enough. No need to complicate it when it does not seem to add any value. You will just loose players.

    Re-spawn time adds nothing to improving game play. In fact, your theory is already in play, due to the Receiving data meta game of excitement and Bio breaks. Re-spawn system needs to be improved in terms of responsiveness, and ease. I should not need to "disconnect" 3 times to Re-spawn. When the "you died" screen comes up, I should be able to hit Re-spawn. It would also be nice if the death screen had a "time survived" timer.
  17. Its not that its too hardcore. Its unplayable and not very fun. At night. I think people are only asking for a small adjustment to dial it in. Black screens are no fun.

    I really like the concept so far, but I wanted to express some things that hinder my play or could use improvement, I have no idea if they are mod issues, or ArmA issues. That's not too relevant to my post. First thing, logging in takes a long, long time. This goes for re-spawning as well. I can go smoke a cigarette and read some news in the time it takes to re-spawn/receive data. Second. Zombies are too fast at times, and also, quite frequently, feel like I am playing against hackers: [ul][li]They do not run, they pop in most cases.[/li] [li]They hit through walls.[/li] [li]They do not care if a door is closed or not.[/li] [li]There seems to be only one real type. ( 28 days, rage type )[/li] [li]Shots do not register until seconds after[/li] [li]They run in what seems to be a forced curve, but never go where predicted to be.[/li] [ul] Third. Grouping with friends is near imposable with out serious time commitments and threat of death before even grouping up. The mod seems very focused on grouping and forming survivor bands, ALA Walking Dead like groups. Some way to spawn with friends initially would be great, and really improve that factional struggle between groups. Fourth. Melee should be a default option. As it is now, you run out of ammo, you are done. There should be some way to fight off the zombies, even if not nearly as effective gun-play, available to every user. Fith. It is very confusing at times that junk piles can not be searched. Sixth. Would have been ladders and door interactions. But it seems that ladders are being addressed in the last patch, however doors need some work. They are hard to target, and at times, its difficult to even tell that you can interact with the door. As for the usefulness of doors, see the zombie section above. Those are some things that my friends and I think are areas that could use some love to improve the experience for all.

  20. It's near unplayable at night, and really, not much fun. Also, the Flair corona and smoke REALLY needs to be adjusted. How you hold it as well. All the current night features seem to want to tell you to just log off. I work during the day, so once i am done with home life, and have time to play DayZ, its already night on any local server. The lack of populations should be a really good indicator, this isn't working.

    I know its alpha, That's why I am giving feedback and initial impressions. Do not use "Its alpha" to suppress feedback, that does no one any good.

    I'm glad you have been able to overcome the flaws worbat. The piles of junk comment was referring to; Its a pile of junk, one would think that's a prime item to search through in a post apocalyptic world. Its confusing as to why that's not a feature.
