To Rocket and the DayZ dev team...

The constant whining on these forums are a sign you guys are doing great. Implement nothing they suggest as it will fail miserably. I'll make the distinction now, there is a huge difference between a well thought out concern for the game, and a post about how bad player killing/vehicle hording is etc. etc. You guys are doing great and i know i for one am looking for the finished product. Of course there are many things still wrong with the game but it is only an alpha and i'm more than certain all of these problems will be ironed out by the time it is released. To all the people who do nothing but complain and offer no viable solution to you're complaint, you're just making it harder for constructive criticism to be heard. Player killing is not out of control although it could be a bit lower in my own opinion, and i have no doubt in my mind that something will be implemented soon enough to make it so people group up to achieve a common goal. It just isn't there yet and people need to be patient. I've read a lot of threads on the issue and most of them basically said the same thing, at this point of the "alpha" there is more to risk than to gain by being friendly. Especially when you have better gear and more time played on that character, it just simply put, isn't worth the risk. Even if you do actually meet a genuinely friendly player how long does your alliance even last, my personal time was about 3 hours and we went our separate ways. Maybe as the game progresses further they will implement a feature that would make that risk worth while, but as it stands the game is fine, but i'll touch more on the player killing later on in this thread. I read a thread earlier about vehicle hording and how it is unfair. My question is, how is it unfair? Almost everything that spawns in this "alpha" is random. Yeah in certain places loot is going to be better, but as far as i see it the same goes for vehicles. If you have been playing on the same server long and haven't seen any vehicles at there spawn location, then more than likely a player/clan has hidden them right? Okay so where do we go from here there are a few options a simple option would be go to the NWAF more than likely if you spend sometime searching that general location you're bound to find at least one. (i know i have) Option two if you frequently play on the same server try stalking a few players every now and then especially on the NWAF and up north you might just get lucky and they might lead you to their camp. Shooting on sight isn't always the best policy in this game you need patience otherwise this game just isn't for you. To put it as frankly as i can vehicles aren't meant to be a common thing just like NVG's or Mountain Dew. (<- lol) Is it wrong for the player who initially finds the vehicle and spends the time to fix it up (which can take hours if he's by himself) to want to keep it and not let other players steal it? Let's be honest with ourselves here, do not pretend that if you found a vehicle fixed it up and packed it with goodies that you would put it back at its spawn. So i ask again how is this unfair? Immersion/realism is another big topic, i'm sure we've all read about how unreal the player killing is and how unreal this and that is. First and foremost...it is a game! A mod not even a stand alone game yet and its a mod in its alpha stages for Christ sake. An alpha in more times than not is not even playable it is more of an idea with some coding in these stages to get the basics down. With that being said let us touch on player killing and how it apparently affects peoples immersion in the game, i'll try to stay away from getting all technical with the human psyche and how it would be affected in a post apocalyptic world. I'm not going to spit a whole bunch of unsupported nonsense at you and call it fact like so many have tried to do on these forums. Simply put i don't think many people can rightfully say how they would or wouldn't act if the world were to end tomorrow. Let's get passed all the manly bravado of saying "oh i'd kill everyone with a smile" or "i would never kill someone on sight" the reality is in my eyes you don't know what you're capable of until it happens. Based on that logic you can't rightly say people wouldn't just go around killing other people for fun, although i will say this in my own opinion i wouldn't expect to see it as much as we do in Day Z. Again we won't know, none of us have survived the apocalypse so player killing shouldn't break immersion for you. I'm a bit tired i'll finish this post tomorrow as it is far from done. I would like to see some things that i haven't touched on yet in the comments and as long as it isn't trolling or whining i would be more than glad to have a conversation about it. To that end goodnight Day Z and let the trolling begin! Tl;Dr Stop whining...

    Worst Weapon In Dayz

Crowbar in terms of damage, but as far as ranged weapons i agree with you OP crossbow is terrible.

Oh absolutely i guess i misunderstood your first post. It's gonna be one of the things i'm going to touch up on tomorrow as well. One of the things i wanted to talk about would be a viable solution to make it a bit more beneficial to be friendly instead of holding on to the KOS policy which most veteran (for lack of a better word) players, myself included have taken up. I'd like to see what players can come up with, without putting restrictions on banditry.

Oh, and what would you're definition of productive be? Please do tell i'm interested in you're opinion. ;)

To Rocket and the DayZ dev team...

That was one of the points i was getting at. Is it shouldn't break a players "immersion" simply put because there is no way to tell what you're capable of or how it will affect you until you're in the situation.

I understand what i wrote was long but if you took the time to actually read it all you would have read in the first paragraph i said "I'll make the distinction now, there is a huge difference between a well thought out concern for the game, and a post about how bad player killing/vehicle hording is etc. etc.". Also i have been playing this game for 3 months now do not make the assumption that because i only have a few posts that i'm new to the forums or to the game. I rarely join forums i joined these forums because i wanted to throw my 2 cents into a post i saw. P.s It's a good life lesson, don't assume as it will only lead to trouble.

vehicle "hoarding", what the hell is it?

So you're saying every noob who spawns at the coast needs a vehicle. I honestly can't even tell if this is trolling it's that laughable. If you need to get to you're friends walk like everyone else does what makes you so special? I think you should read my last post about being entitled, why do you need a vehicle more than a clan with 10 members, (just a random number) when in all actuality they probably would use it for far better uses than driving around Cherno honking the horn and getting shot at. Tl;Dr Stop whining... P.s. No i'm not in a clan, i play by myself and sometimes with one or two people. I have no problem stealing vehicles from hoarders whether when they're offline or not. L2P...

vehicle "hoarding", what the hell is it?

You're a clown. I don't even know where to begin with you, lets start with the whole immersion factor that you kiddies seem to cry about on a daily basis. If this were real life (as a lot of people like to think it is) then in all actuality this is exactly what would be happening. People who banded together would scavenge all the workable vehicles in an area to their own camp/town so that they could better their own odds, keep other possibly dangerous people from having them, etc. Next let's go with the pretty simple point L2P, it's not hard to stumble onto a camp with a vehicle or two there. Especially after the patch that respawns them if they're outside of the boundaries. The entitlement of this community has been coming increasingly unbearable as of late. When you don't have something that you want you work for it. That's the way the world works, stop expecting everything to be giving to you. If a person/clan is hording vehicles on a server you frequently play on then stalk them and find it. It honestly isn't all that hard. I'll end this by saying the world owes you nothing (in this case Day Z) work for it or quit. Tl;Dr Stop whining...

    Fake or idiots or both?

...Really?...Having a gladiator match will get it banned in multiple countries...(sighs)...really?

TOP 10 things that ruin immersion for DayZ

Top ten things wrong with Day Z; 1-10 Stop whining... P.s. You really think you would have a vehicle if the same vehicles spawned in every server. That would basically be what 10 vehicles to 12k+ players...seems legit.

Biggest bunch of poofters the world has ever seen

To OP, If you think this is bad i bid you to go check out Diablo 3 forums...
  15. lilirishboy90@aol.com

Why does it take so long to enter server now??

No, because this has been happening all week. It seems to have started with the last patch.
  16. lilirishboy90@aol.com

    FUCKING BULLSHIT

I've been having the same problem. Ever since the latest patch joining servers takes extremely long. It's been driving me crazy, what makes it worse is that all that time you spend "waiting for character to create" you're actually in the world basically bait for bandits and zombies alike. This is a pretty big issue and i hope Rocket fixes it soon.

    DayZ Disconnecting my internet

I have been getting this error (if that's what to call it). It seems when i am joining a server my connection disconnects and reconnects. I have no idea why it may be happening, it started with the last patch. It now takes FOREVER to get into a game because of this error. I'm talking anywhere from 2 minutes to the longest which was 20 minutes+. I don't even know what could be causing it i've never had this problem before. If anyone could help out it would be appreciated. P.s. I have Verizon Fios and a Netgear router. The router and modem are pretty outdated but like i've said i've never had anything like this occur.
