  1. It's a change that was introduced with a recent patch. Survivors used to spawn with a Marakov before.

    GAME MASTERED

There ought to be a "I beat DayZ" t-shirt for you! ;)
  3. I don't have Android, but this looks very nice. Well done!
  4. He just wanted to use a big word. ;)

    Is DayZ realistic?

Another thing to keep in mind is that survivors don't really "die". A bandit can go on a killing spree, but effectively he's not reducing the survivor population at all, because a killed player will simply respawn on the beach. Survivor lives are disregarded because their numbers never dwindle - we know that there are thousands of DayZ players out there who keep coming back. There's nothing special about a survivor, he's not the "endangered species" that he should be during a zombie apocalypse. Players would act differently if they knew that the guy/girl they're watching who's scavenging a supermarket might be their last tie to humanity and civilization.

    The Water Bottle?

    I really like these suggestions!
  7. Since 1.7.1.1, I haven't found anything edible at all, and I must've scavenged at least six supermarkets by now. Thank god the flashing food icon stops flashing when you log off and back in again (is that a bug?), else I would have died a long time ago. As someone has already pointed out, there was a tweet about this just recently:
  8. NO, unless... ...you introduce a system that triggers a reaction to people with a high humanity score as well. A newly spawned character shouldn't have a high humanity score right from the start; as a counterpart to low humanity, high humanity also needs to be the result of specific actions. A character with a high humanity should have an effect on other players as well, something that marks him/her as "friendly". (Sorry, more than 20 words...)
  9. YES Though I would prefer newly spawned characters to be stripped of most (if not all?) their gear. Perhaps this would discourage bandits (griefers are a different matter) from killing people on the coast, because their loot is just not worth the hassle.
  10. You can run a marathon in the winter and you won't get sick because your body generates enough heat. If you're jogging or sprinting in-game, dropping temperatures shouldn't be an issue. You could try laying still outside while it rains - I'm sure your temperature will go down then.
  11. Perhaps the people who jumped into the game to play it like a Cherno deathmatch arena have slowly adapted to surviving in DayZ. Some of them may have left again - no achievements, no K/D ratio, no PvP leaderboard might not seem appealing to them on the long run.

Taking a break from Day Z

Knot what I expected, this thread.
  13. Molotov cocktails. It'll attract zombies like moths to a flame, ^^
  14. You create a movie that, in order to continue the linear story, prompts you to hit a button on your remote control every other minute. If you get the timing wrong (this depends heavily on the genre), you'll have to rewatch the last scene and try again.
  15. That's a really good point I hadn't thought about yet. Kicking it up a notch, I don't got to bed without brushing my teeth either. I'd be thrilled if there was a spot for a toothbrush and toothpaste next to my compass and matches - brushing your teeth should be mandatory after every meal, failing to do so (especially before logging out) will result in your (new) tooth icon flashing red, meaning that you'd better get some treatment or you'll only be able to drink smoothies for nourishment. If you haven't managed to complete your dental hygiene set while scavenging through the cities, you can also eat an apple (a day) to slow down your tooth decay (much like food helps replenish your blood). It would add a whole new layer of depth to the game! Speaking of, has anyone touched the subject of clipping one's nails yet? Shaving? Calling your mother regularly (finding and fixing a phone turns into a whole new adventure) to tell her that everything is fine, and reassuring her that you have enough clean pairs of underwear with you? A red flashing mother icon means that she's about to board a ship and seek you out to give you a proper scolding while you and your bandit mates are trying to bully a survivor into giving up his eye mask (another new piece of gear that helps keep your beauty sleep icon in the green). I also noticed some of the survivors are wearing glasses - wouldn't it seem realistic to add a feature that prompts you to clean your glasses with a spectacle cloth often (which, of course, you need to find first), or else your vision goes blurry?
  16. I don't understand the necessity of this feature either - it adds nothing to the game, aside from a recurring annoyance whenever you log in. Please do remove this "bug".
