About Jia

    Scavenger
  1. It's a change that was introduced with a recent patch. Survivors used to spawn with a Marakov before.

    GAME MASTERED

There ought to be a "I beat DayZ" t-shirt for you! ;)
  3. I don't have Android, but this looks very nice. Well done!
  4. He just wanted to use a big word. ;)

    Is DayZ realistic?

Another thing to keep in mind is that survivors don't really "die". A bandit can go on a killing spree, but effectively he's not reducing the survivor population at all, because a killed player will simply respawn on the beach. Survivor lives are disregarded because their numbers never dwindle - we know that there are thousands of DayZ players out there who keep coming back. There's nothing special about a survivor, he's not the "endangered species" that he should be during a zombie apocalypse. Players would act differently if they knew that the guy/girl they're watching who's scavenging a supermarket might be their last tie to humanity and civilization.

    The Water Bottle?

    I really like these suggestions!
  7. Since 1.7.1.1, I haven't found anything edible at all, and I must've scavenged at least six supermarkets by now. Thank god the flashing food icon stops flashing when you log off and back in again (is that a bug?), else I would have died a long time ago. As someone has already pointed out, there was a tweet about this just recently:
  8. NO, unless... ...you introduce a system that triggers a reaction to people with a high humanity score as well. A newly spawned character shouldn't have a high humanity score right from the start; as a counterpart to low humanity, high humanity also needs to be the result of specific actions. A character with a high humanity should have an effect on other players as well, something that marks him/her as "friendly". (Sorry, more than 20 words...)
  9. YES Though I would prefer newly spawned characters to be stripped of most (if not all?) their gear. Perhaps this would discourage bandits (griefers are a different matter) from killing people on the coast, because their loot is just not worth the hassle.
  10. You can run a marathon in the winter and you won't get sick because your body generates enough heat. If you're jogging or sprinting in-game, dropping temperatures shouldn't be an issue. You could try laying still outside while it rains - I'm sure your temperature will go down then.
  11. Perhaps the people who jumped into the game to play it like a Cherno deathmatch arena have slowly adapted to surviving in DayZ. Some of them may have left again - no achievements, no K/D ratio, no PvP leaderboard might not seem appealing to them on the long run.

Taking a break from Day Z

Knot what I expected, this thread.
