Zombies are just to...unreal
Duskling replied to Gandalf (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree with everything said in the post above. A Major issue you forgot is that zombies run forever. -
It's called survival of the fittest. It's obvious that the game takes place after the infection has been rampant for a while. The people who can't run from the zed have died. The people who were strong enough and know how to manage their breath and run for great distances have survived. It's basic biology. Pointless thread is pointless. What you really need to be asking is are the zombies futuristic robot soldiers. You can hear that they breath, you can hear they have obvious lung issues, and they limp. They should not be able to run forever. Once a zombie starts chasing you and you have no ammo, you might as well call it quits and start a new game because you will not survive.

Was walking and died. Blood was full, food and water were full, I just died. Instantly. Not even unconscious. Lost alot of great gear. Pretty much stopped playing the game after that. I mean I can't get into a server anyway because the game is broken to hell but hopefully it will be patched up and I can try and like this game again.

Melee would not work, period. If you get close to a zombie they will instantly hit you and make you bleed. By the time you kill a zombie with a melee weapon you will be dead yourself. This should be fixed until zombies actually work, and stop glitching through floors, walls, doors.

It's a good game. But I am mad that I wasted my money. I can't even play it. I am either waiting for a server response that is non existant or running into game breaking bugs.

Vehicles are working' date=' you have an option to save it, then if server restarts it will save at the place you left it! [/quote'] Oh okay, so if I save my cars position and then log out, it will disappear until I log back in?

Post your best "how I outwitted those darn bandits" stories!

moar! -
So that's why he never showed up. I was waiting in elektro for cole to team up. You might have saved my life because he probably was going to kill me, I had quite a bit of food on me. But um, If you came to elektro on that same server at around the same time me and 2 other noobs would have been there ripe for the pickin' :)

What do you do with a vehicle? Can you put them in your inventory? Leaving them in a hiding spot until you log back on seems a little silly.

First off, just wanted to say that this is one of the best games i have ever played. It is all I ever wanted in a zombie game. So I spawned at the coast, during late day. I didn't know what to really do so I just headed inland and kept going through the forest. Eventually I reached a road, matched up the sign names to Elekro-> 5km. I started to walk, ignoring what everyone said about elektro being super dangerous, and I finally got to the city after walking a good 30 minutes. By now it was very dark. In the city there was a lot of zombies, and I just ran to the coastal area of the city where there are cranes and I climbed on top of one. The zombies didn't bother following me. So I chilled up here for a while. After about 10 minutes I hear gunshots and I see a guy run from out of an alleyway with 10 zombies on his tail. I throw a flare to signal that I am here and I start shouting Friendly. The flare distracts the zombies for long enough that I can get down and help out the guy. Sadly, he bleeds out before I can bandage him up. I say my condolences and take his supplies. I then walked a bit east, and found some sardines and some buckshot rounds. Then I climbed up on top of a warehouse, fell down one of the ladders, fractured my leg, and climbed back up again and went prone. 10 minutes later of me surveying the area, another guy comes running and behind him is a survivor shooting at him. I want to help out but I am to far to hit him with my makarov. I watch as this guy runs the other survivor to the edge of the docks, while he is bleeding like crazy, and he jumps off. I think he bled out soon after. The guy who was chasing him seemed to back off after I fired a couple rounds at the general area of his feet. He couldn't figure out where they were coming from but I scared him off. And then I logged out. Quick question: My leg is fractured( I think. There is a white thing that looks like a broken bone to my right ), and I don't have any painkillers. I have a morphine auto injector ( 3 actually) but I don't have the option to use them. What do I do?
