Time for a lesson in medicine. Look at the contents of a crash cart, epinephrine, atropine, nitroglycerine, etc. The complexities of using an AED or whatnot are far beyond most players scope. An AED(defibrillator) is used to treat someone in V-FIB; Ventrical Fibrilation, or V-TACH. Ventricular tachycardia; rapid heart beat in the ventricles(bottom chamber of the heart.) The idea of using an AED on an unconscious person is stupid. If someone goes into V-FIB or V-TACH, you should be able to attempt a Precordial thump(an outdated practice of basically jabbing someone in the chest in lieu of an AED(no defibrillator)). This can have the risk of making their situation worse, causing more damage or just plain old not working. Basically DayZ needs a crash-cart, or the supplies scattered around. When someones heart actually is stopped they use atropine/epinephrine/Sodium Bicarbonate. I'm not going to give you a full on lesson, so here is some from Wikipedia: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) drugs such as epinephrine, atropine, amiodarone, lidocaine, sodium bicarbonate, dopamine, and vasopressin First line drugs for treatment of common problems such as: adenosine, dextrose, diazepam or midazolam, epinephrine for IM use, naloxone, nitroglycerin, and others. As, I said, It's a slippery slope of realism. Say if you give them too much morphine, they become unconscious. For this situation you would administer Narcan(nalaxone), it counteracts the affects of opiates on your body so you can breathe again. Your lesson ends here, but seriously, just think of the complexity of this system that would be needed to make it fair and adequate. What civilization has been doing for millennia. Gold and silver, that should be implemented. As the other said, government controls the value of money usually, but that is fiat currency. Paper money. Gold and Silver will always be money, because they are physical, sound money. Would be more like, find an ounce or a few of silver carefully hidden under a bed in some random house, or in a well hidden spot in any residential area. Like someone who was stocking up on SHTF currency but got killed before he could use it.

I think we need to work on something like this as a community. This is a suggestion really, but this is general discussion about a suggestion. So, there is so much KoS; and a lot of people say that 'friendlies' wear brightly colored clothing. That is just impractical, because you are a complete target to KoSers. Now here is where people might say: "you have to compromise if you play friendly". I think the compromise should be something different, like bands of a specific color like UN blue or red. The reason I don't say white, is that along with the brightly colored clothing thing, when people use the gamma exploit any color besides camo is just glowing. Now, there is the UN beret, but therein lies the problem of sacrificing head protection. I would always rather have the ballistic helmet, Back on the bands thing, I'm thinking like different bands for parts of the body, mainly a band of 'friendly' color that is like a headband on your helmet. And then an armband, like up at the bicep area. Now for most people the Oompa-Loompa 'friendly' dance is mostly recognized, but if the other person isn't friendly, you're dead. Now my suggestion would be like, you can see that they're friendly from a distance. Of course people would be douchebags and pretend to be friendly, but that already happens. Along with maybe some sort of humanity system with this, would tie in well. Any thoughts, fellas?

I wasnt really talking about a humanity system. More along the lines of: "Do I trust this survivor wearing a friendly band?" *proceeds to watch player behavior and make decisions and calculate risk vs reward on player interaction*

Well, they would have to have complexities to the feature. Like adrenaline. If you're running for your life, you're gonna be hopped up for however long. Just like your body never utilizes all of its muscle fibers when working out/flexing. It's just too much. It would be more like, your character gets scared as shit fight or flight reflex when he gets shot at, and you can just Usain Bolt it for about 20+meters and then have the shakes like crazy. But for flat out sprinting, I can't sprint irl for that long at all. When I run, its more of a run/walk intervals thing. So, idk what the devs will do.

I'm not familiar with it. Why would you want your player to have such conditions? Is it a random generate per character thing, or do you invest into having such traits? Fill me in, please.

I've been playing mostly solo, so especially for me. It's higher risk vs reward, in real life. I'm spending my time in a damn video game to make it so far and dedicate myself, just to get killed by a hacker or some KoS newb. Not that it's really a huge deal, just an example. Most players don't have the patience to even make it to Balota, like I said.

I've had that happen plenty 'o times. Most player traffic is starting to head more towards Berezino, NEAF, Svetlojarsk, etc. Most spawns are far east. It takes some serious dedication to make it even to Balota. Let alone Pavlovo. It's either dedicate one direction and usually die, or run straight north for most people.

Whenever I go there I never find anyone in the open. Always snipers or getting surprised by full mil-gear bambi killers inside the jail

Speak of the god-damn devil. I was in the barracks, only 2 other people on the server. The other names were user and owner, so i figure this dude mustve been an admin or someone was hacking. Because I was in the second room, just about to play inventory tetris with a hunter backpack lying on the bed. I heard rushing and someTHING ran past in the hallway. Didn't even see me. Scared me shitless, like I jumped IRL. I was just starting to play tetris, i wouldve been toast. I did it fast, then just called it quits for a few minutes lol.

Yeah. Also; I would've tried maybe robbing him because i got the jump on him, but i didnt have my mic in, he didnt scream friendly, and I'm 15 and lets just say I don't have the most intimidating voice for holding people up .-.

I wish my story ended sweeter, but it's still epic. So I got DayZ'd and lost all my stuff, fresh spawn. Spawned in berezino* on a full server, was thinking there has to be players around. Was gonna suicide but i decided to run for the construction building looking for an act of god(M4A1). I decided to look behind me and sure enough a dude with a mosin was running up on me. I turned around and waved to him, he drew his gun. I patronized him, saying: "Youre cool, killing fresh spawns" "Is that all you do, kill bambis?" "you must be great at this game" " Don't worry, I won't Mike Tyson you"*put my hands behind my head*. His buddy comes by and I say: "ohai". No response so far. They put their guns away, but then they pulled out an axe. Before I could pull my fists out they are running at me. I took off running up the hill doing a serpentine maneuver, and they pull out their guns and can't hit me.Either they were terrible shots or I was a bawss(both). I get to the top of the hill at the road and go prone using third person exploit(im a douche) to see if they follow me up the hill. They didnt. I wait for them to turn around, and I start stalking them, hoping to surprise Mike Tyson one of them and take their gun then commit vengeance. Sadly the story didn't turn out that way, I lost them at Solnichniy, they had a 300+meter lead on me, last I saw was a hunting backpack going into some thick woods. I think they went north whilst i went along the coast. I wish it would have ended with me sneaking up on one of them, one hit KO'ing him, quickly grabbing his gun and shooting his partner before he could react. But it didn't :( Epic nonetheless.

So, as my previous thread stated, i just had an authentication problem or whatever. NBD, I was fully kit'd up and in elektro. Authentication failure thing happens. I join a different server and I'm unconscious, and I was in the middle of the ocean when I hit esc to see where I was. Now I lost all of my shit, ugggggggggggggggggggg

im fully kit'd, just got authentification failure, tried to join a diff server and got a 235 sec respawn timer. im in the middle of elektro and will most likely be dead. if i exit during timer do i die and lose all my stuff?

I don't know about you, but every treestand I've looked in has no weapons. According to the DayZdb map, there is a high probability of finding all sorts of ammo and the rifle + shotgun. I've looked in not a whole bunch, but probably around like 10ish, and never have I found even a damn hat! Is this for everyone or just me? All treestands are usually empty. Even on low pop servers.
