Best loot route(personally+map route)
Apocrypha8 replied to Apocrypha8's topic in General Discussion
Plenty 'O guns. On my loot route with a buddy(I was gearing him up, I already had gear). We found: 2 magnums, 2 SKS', 2 magnums, 1 FNX45 and a mag, 2 SKS 10 round clips(in the same damn building), a can opener, and lots more. We stopped at Veresnik, and we missed Pavlovo due to a miscalculation in my trajectory. -
IDK, I haven't had but two really friendly interactions. My best would be a friend I met. I was in kamyshovo at the well, fresh spawn, just had backpack and axe or crowbar or something. Was getting water and two guys came around the corner, both fresh spawns. Both nervous. Dude said he was looking for the well, I told him it was back here and backed up for him. I watched them drink, and they were sketched by me. Eventually I asked them if they wanted to team up, they did. We ran to elektro and geared up, then i became friends with him. He was going to backstab me, but I like to call it: 'forced cooperation via violence'. We got shot at, so we needed to stay as a team. Hence he became my friend.

As the title says, what is it about DayZ that keeps you coming back, or you really like. Personally, I'm all for the human interaction aspect of the game. Albeit nobody really does that and simply kills on sight. No games can evoke such emotion/physical responses like DayZ can. When you're playing COD or something, you don't get a mini heart attack(most of the time). When someone shoots you/around you or runs out in front of you. The dim prospect of losing all of your hard-earned(unless you're a server hopper .-.) gear is enough to keep you fighting for your life.
-
Both of you guys are 100% right. DayZ is unique.

In the future there may be no server restarts, I'm pretty sure Rocket said. I haven't used them yet, but, I was thinking leaving pre-wrote notes for firefights/ambushes/bluffs. Like you see a person, leave the note on the ground in the middle of the road in their path, you watch them go to the note and it reads something like: "You have a squad on you, hands up and drop everything you own". Or something like that. See if they look around, actually do it, or sprint up on them when they're reading it.

Friendly? Forget that, I'd rather beat you with a shovel

I'm usually the guy with the shovel, but instead of beating someone, I get shot at. -
You don't need to use voice, but having a designated voice, like when playing with a buddy or group, or if you have a friend over in real life, he/she can use the microphone whilst you play. I take it you have to know sign, so some of your close friends who may have the interest, and can interpret your sign, and speak it.
-
Were you on your way to Pavlovo?

Beat ya to it, found it yesterday. Didn't know about it til I stumbled upon it.

The Affect of in-game voice chat vs third party voice chat
Apocrypha8 replied to Owain1122's topic in General Discussion
Teamspeak for grouping up, If i meet a stranger and become friendly its gonna be in game for a while. Teamspeak for firefights where they are in close range. It does give away your position, and it isnt as immersive, but I dont want to die. -
I feel like I'm getting cabin fever! lolol I don't necessarily play only lone wolf, but it always turns out that way. I take breaks and try to find someone to talk to to give me ideas on what to do in game. Not that it gets boring per say, its just that I am void of human interaction for the most part. Especially when I play on low pop servers to gear up. What are y'alls opinion on the matter.

I have handcuffs and a burlap sack, so Its raping time ***WINK***

At this point if it were at feature release status; I would be building a base/campsite.
-
I was traveling to Pavolovo military base, and came across this Stalin-esque copper(looking) figure. Easter egg, I suppose.
-
Someone said that on google so I just kinda stole it. I think he/I meant the hat. My first impression was a Saddam Hussein tearing down the statue type deal, but obviously this is Chernarus and not Iraq.
-
I think you should be able to track players better, plus this would work better in winter. With snow on the ground, obviously you can see footprints. But regularly, there should be a blood trail if they were bleeding; pushed down grass isn't enough to track someone by.

In-between the coast and like Zelenogorsk are usually pretty friendly. The coast and anywhere usually past Vybor is KoS for most folks.

That's how my one kill has been. Look at my other thread. He scared me, but I got the jump on him and shot first.
-
So I was thinking, idk if there is it already, but when you shoot water the bullet doesn't go more than like 2 feet(google it), yadda yadda depending on the caliber. I went full camouflage by going prone in the pond near Elektro. If there are real physics, I'd be invincible and practically invisible. Good hiding spot.

To whomever I just killed, I am sincerely sorry. I had just logged on a server, in one of the barracks in Balota Airstrip. The doors inside were closed, I figured there may not be any people around. I'm already super sketchy/paranoid at places like Balota, because It's mostly KOS. I had a magnum. After looting the barrack, I took a quick peak to see if the Jail buildings doors were closed. They were; so I said YOLO and sprinted across the airstrip. I was hoping there was nobody there. I knew someone would likely be using the 3rd person exploit to look through the top of the doors. About 7 meteres away from the door, they fly open. It almost gave me a heart attack. Standing there was a fully clad camo survivor. He didn't have his gun drawn, but I was startled and unsure of his intentions, so I took the shot. Before he had a chance to pull out his weapon I unloaded two rounds into his torso with my magnum. I quickly took his SKS, and his TTSKO jacket and then the body disappeared. I feel bad, he didn't have his gun raised, but from all past experiences I was going to be murdered. I think I actually got the jump on him, because he took cover when he saw me, hence I thought he was going to shoot me. R.I.P Balota Camo-Survivor

THIS. I see everyone else do it, I didn't go full out RP on this, but this is another good use for my superb creative writing skills(no conceitedness intended). Other players do this, it just adds to the experience/immersion. What other games invoke this kind of responses from their players? This is about community *insert gang member voice here*

Risk vs Reward. You can go bare minimum, I'm kinda really tired so this may sound stupid lol. But like using inventory tetris and eating and drinking when you find it/not carrying it around, you could carry many 'o firearms. I think a sawn-off, a pistol, and maybe even a rifle? I can't do the math right now. But like the space the occupy in your inventory, blah blah you get the drift.

IMMERSION!

Congratulations. I wish in the future they will add major modifications like the Tapco stock, higher capacity magazines, other optical accessories. Don't get me wrong, I love the natural look and feel of older weapons irl, and in my video games lol. Other people have different tastes, so such options should be available to them.

'Twas a misinterpretation of my words. I meant that I am most likely deemed KoS by other players. I picked up a gas mask, I may take it off, but IDK. I made a thread about a friendly band. I have all camo to blend in and NOT get KoS'd. I look scary as shit, but that's only so I blend in. And ideal situation would be communication from a covered spot that they don't know where you are but are in range of DC. I have the problem of being 15 and sounding like I'm not 15 .-. I'm not a high pitched squeaker by any means, but I do not have an intimidating voice. If people automatically presume themselves higher than me for me not sounding 'manly' in real life, some 20 or 30 something adult won't listen to me in a video game xD
