It seems like those wooden cabin type houses never spawn anything. But the bi-colored houses with the yellow and stripe on one part ALWAYS spawns a shit ton of food, at least it seems to me. EDIT: I've found a few can openers in there too. Always the metal shelf is stacked with goods.

I just ran there from Balota; it seems its the lesser known and lesser populated base in Chernarus. I think I plan on going to Zelenogorsk, then to either Vybor and look for some PvP or NWAF. Any thoughts on Pavlovo? I think it's way more rewarding than Balota, providing you can make it there. Just because there is a hospital and everything is so close to each other.

I've made my journey solo. From Elekrto to Dubky to Balota to Pavlovo to Zelenogorsk to Green Mountain to NWAF. I am in the bushes at NWAF, should I join a high pop server and look for some PvP? Should I circle around to NEAF and Svetlojarsk? Cut right through to Berezino? Then back to Elektro? HALP

You are right about the rendezvouz point thing. I ran this loot route to gear up a buddy, and yeah.

I've met two people in game and exchanged steam ID's, the one dude hasnt been on in a while, but the other I speak to and play with regularly. He was going to backstab me but changed his mind lol

It isn't really a FIXED route. I use a combo of these. You can get by with any of these locations. I can survive when I spawn anywhere, anytime; this is just a tried and true method.

Also, you can do any variation of this route. If you get lucky in Dubky, you can run straight along the coast to Kamenka, and make a straight shot to Pavlovo, if it's easier on you for navigation or not getting raped in Balota.

Everyone is missing in action. Earlier, I tried to die at NWAF by joining a high pop server, ONTOP OF THE FIREHOUSE TOWER. I waited for like 20 minutes, saw one person, stood up when he was facing me to give him a chance to kill me, and I still killed him. Now, I've been at Balota waiting for my friend, like 20 minutes in overwatch position on a 40 man server. Heard one or two gunshots, no player activity whatsoever. The barracks doors were even closed.

I just want to do something besides kill players. It's not even like I can find any good old fashioned shootouts that last for more than 10 seconds and don't end with a black screen.

I've had 4 kills on DayZ so far, I try not to be KoS, but the urge just got to me the first time. First kill(s): I was being an asshole and camping the top floor of the jail building, I had full mil gear(insert: douchebag :( ). I was watching, and because I was so deep into that camping thing, I never noticed THREE dudes looting the bottom floor. I saw them run into the first hangar, my first shots hit the collision plane with the window, so I stood up, and got my first kill. Now there are two left. I circle about after some tense moments, not scavenging from the body.(I knew they were either in or around hangar). I found their buddy up at the ATC. I got him by surprise, it was really laggy. As in I shot him behind the atc, then proceeded to shoot at his animation running across the airfield(even though he was dead behind it), I didn't even know I killed him because of the lag animation. I go back to hangar and get into a mexican standoff. I should've taken my original position in the window, but I didn't. He out flanked me by going in or around the jail(I didn't see him very long). After about probably 15+ minutes of peeking around the corner and getting shot at(this guy was dedicated), and numerous attempts by telling him via DC that I would let him live, with no response(I meant it, too.). I came around the left side of the first hangar at balota, I was aiming inside the hangar cuz thats where he was the last like 5 times, my friend (irl watching me play) said : "to the left", I thought he meant inside the hangar, he meant the dude was in front of the jail, so I ran back behind the hangar and got shot. 2/3 not bad My next kill was accidental. I was looting balota and didn't think anyone was around in the jail because of closed doors, I think i surprised this guy. I had a magnum and bare minimum. The doors opened when I was just about to them. The guy must've been in 1st person or he would've seen me through the exploit inadvertently(he may have been doing this and friendly :/, just stupid). I had my gun drawn already, his was on his back. We just kinda looked at each other without moving for a split second, I panicked, he panicked, he went for cover, I took a shot. As fast as a flash. I felt like he was going to kill me. I still have his SKS and TTSKO Jacket. Fourth kill was trying to go suicidal on my current character, who quite frankly has been alive TOOOOOO long. I was going to die so I could meet up with another kid to play with but he was on the coast. I joined a 40/40 server and stood on top of the firehouse tower like sniper bait for a while, got bored. Went prone for a more rambo yolo KoS style. Gave the guy the edge(dummy circled the ATC platform up top. When he came around facing me I stood up; gave the guy a second to react, Shot him, shot him again, and missed, and shot him again. He finally died. I got bored and ran back down south. Now I'm back up north. Same character.

As the title says. I thought that you had a regular and a hardcore toon. I logged off my regular character at a spot, to stay there so I can meet up with my buddy when he logs back on. I joined a hardcore server to play as a fresh character to pass time, and i was surprised to find out that when I logged in, I was my fully geared character. What is up? Did it change? As far as I remember they were different characters.

Pro tip: use a spotter. In first person modes, having a spotter/scout on teamspeak is one of the most effective ways for looting high risk areas such as Balota. The hill behind and to the left(if you are facing the back of the hangars), with the rock formation, has a great vantage point for anything, regardless or not if you have a scope. Only has blind spots behind the jail and behind the ATC, you can watch your friend go down the mountain, into the jail and hope for the best, then have him loot barracks, with your scope zoomed in. Can see most of Balota town and almost all angles of airstrip. Run to the left a little and you can see almost the whole open field. It's a really long/tough shot from the distance with a PU scope, but it's enough to do spotting/engage an enemy combatant with suppressing fire so that your friend can either engage or escape. Keep the person pinned down long enough with proper call-outs to take out a target. TACTICS!

I didn't mean it LITERALLY. I mean don't overstay your welcome. If I must, I sneak around the side, hit the school, piano building pub, if im feeling brave office building, and then grocery store then GTFO FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAST! I do not like getting shot in Elektro.
