It has many different purposes. You can defend the house that you're staying in. You can use it to make a camp. Most of the time people us it to troll other people in servers. But if you got a toolkit then you can remove the barbed wire. He most likely use it as storage but most of the time they go in the woods. You can't place a tent in a house i think so he can't storage anything there (If you think different please tell me) It also cool be a trap.

Download these files: http://www.battleye.com/download.html (Put these files into a folder called "BattlEye" in the "Expansion" folder of your game install directory) Know you can play again. Other fix: Update dayz with DayZ updater/loader.

This is a W7 issue. Go to the speaker in your right. Right click on it, and choose: Sounds. Than go to Communication. Than choose the option: Do nothing. -

This was my first opinion. This game needs to be played with friends. I joined the game 1 week ago, the only thing i found was bottles and got attacked by zombies. I was searching on forums for teams and i found few friendly guy's who could help me. Thank you Physmatic ;) They told me the basics, and we teamed up. They found guns etc. They found a gun for me so i had a Makarov. Killed zombie's with them and survived. That how you need to play it. Last time i played COD was few weeks back. COD is nothing compared to Arma 2. I wish i could run this a little faster i got low fps. (My CPU sucks bad ass)
