Zombies are now attracted to flares in both day and night. It isn't as powerfull as the smoke grenade though. A tip is to use chemlights since they are hard to spot from a distance, gives a good field of view and zombies don't react to it as much as flares. Otherwise grab a flashlight and use it in small bursts (if you have the military flashlight you don't really need to do this though).

It doesn't limit gameplay. It changes it. BTW if you can't play during the dark nights wait until around the 27th (+/- one day) because then the moon will be back.

Yeah I agree. But that is a part of the Arma 2 AI so its probably alot of work to change (if it is even possible).

isn't it currently like "some servers have the moon today' date=' others don't"? [/quote'] I only play on FR2 if I can help it and it seems like it follows the schedule. So I don't really know how it is on other servers. But they should all be the same.

Is this true? If so' date=' wow, just wow... [/quote'] Try it in the editor and you will see that it follows the schedule +-1day. Note that since Chernarus is based on the Czech Republic so I would guess it goes after its lunar cycle.

Tips for finding a friend when we've both spawned far away?

Always when I try to group up with my friends we move by the powerlines. Both the one from Elektro and Cherno Meets up in a large triangle north of Cherno. They are Easy to spot and the path is usually empty from bandits and other players -
NVG's just offer too large of an advantage. They have no drawbacks and offer a straight-up handicap to anyone not using them. NVG's, probably the most sought after and one of the most rare items in the game is easily counterd with one of the most common items, the flare. They practically makes them unusable.

Are there seasons? Will it snow when we are playing in January? Sadly no, there are no seasons. Though I think I read about such a mod project a long time ago. I have no idea how it would work though. Backpacks spawn as loot and are used to gain more storage. The sizes goes as: Czech vest pouch 6 Patrol pack (coyote) 8 Assault pack 12 Czech backpack 16 ALICE bag 20 Backpack (coyote) 24

1. Use the action menu (default scroll wheel) and click on the option you want. 2. The default keys are "." and ",". You can also change chat room by opening the chat and pressing up and down arrows. 3. The zombies sometimes spawn inside walls and sometimes they also see through them but that is rare. They can however always see through doors for some reason.

I have nothing against the common bandits that fills this game. They are a vital part for the games atmosphere. What I hate it the trolls that sets themselves up in cherno/elektro or up on the hills looking down at the beach spawnpoints and just kill people for the sake of killing people. Then when they get spotted and shot back at, they just log off and join another server. What respawning in Dayz feels like :P

You cant die while being logged out so nothing would happen, they would still just be blinking red!

What the hell is up witht he people in this thread?.. You dont need to log on every day to eat and drink. Hell you can stop playing now and come back in a month and your guy will still be alive (that is if it doesnt get deleted or anything). All you have to do is to have one can of food and one can of soda when you log out. It isnt even sudden when you log in. It can take up to 20 minutes before your character is going to starve. EDIT: Didn't mean to quote someone.
