Better PC gets worse performance. (FPS)
kristoferen replied to evox91's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Then tell us your current game settings, driver version(s) tried, driver settings tried (vsync/aa/etc), what your CPU usage, GPU usage and GPU MEM usage are while running the game. Have you really read all the performance threads? -

"YUP" is not enough info. I'm giving up on you, sorry, but if you can't put in the effort then neither will I. -
my 1.83ghz i7 never gets fully utilized so I dont see why your CPU would. Open task manager and look at the CPU usage of each core Use a program like MSI Afterburner to monitor GPU usage + gpu memory (and gpu temp! arma2 is a gpu temp killer!) Check the RAM usage of your PC during arma2 (shouldnt really be an issue unless there is something else using a lot of RAM, arma2 usually uses ~1.2GB of RAM for me)

Can you disable one of your GFX cards? My buddy had an issue like this while running crossfire. -

And you've read the other FPS/performance issue threads? Such as game settings, AA/AF/FXAA/PPAA settings, Driver updates, driver settings, etc? -

Or simply use this website, which will tell your specs AND tell you if you can run the game. http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx Just type in DayZ in the search box there and allow the applet to run :) -

LIke Evictus said, post your full computer specs; but please also post all the things you have tried already including all the other threads you've read. There are 50 suggestions already posted multiple times and nobody wants to post them again, but as long as you've tried everything already we'll be glad to help :) -
I'd ask if you've followed all the tweak guides here on the forums, but also say that: it might not get any better. Your graphics card is a pretty low-end model and may not be up to task.

HELP - screenshots are just black
kristoferen replied to SoWeMeetAgain's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
either use Steam's built in screen shots (F12 key) or take screenshots from running the game in window mode -
POLL: Graphical Glitches and YOU, a poll that all should take.
kristoferen replied to The_Uprising's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Other: Changing Shadow Detail from High to Very High and then back down to High again fixes it most of the time, although sometimes I need to restart the game or sometimes it fixes the major flaws but leaves dead soldier bodies looking like a 6ft brown blob instead of a body, although this I can deal with. It occurs in any military camp (south airfield, stary sobor, NW airfield) if I alt-tab the game 90% of the time. It occurs randomly in military locations and sometimes other locations randomly, although less seldom in non-military (elektro twice, cherno once, novo sovor once vs. NW air/stary about a dozen times) -
Feature Request: Dent Puller & Screw Driver
kristoferen replied to jubeidok's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Learn something new every day :) Althought I doubt you'd need to go through that trouble for a 1980's Skoda. Heck you could probably start the ignition up with any key or screwdriver :P -

Why would you need a dent puller to steal a car? -
Can someone please tell me if my graphics are normal?
kristoferen replied to cleveden8's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Perfectly normal. If you have a very high end PC Anti-aliasing could help with that, but it WILL lower your fps/performance. -
I just popped in regular ol' ARMA2:CO as I've not played it yet, so this is not a DayZ issue.. but I'm not on any ARMA2 forum so I figured maybe someone here can help. My issues is that in a radius of about 10 feet around my character, the shadow quality is VERY VERY good, while anything further away than 10' is much worse. This is no matter what graphic settings I use. This exact same distance is on High or Very High shadows. My problem is not that the distant shadows are ugly - in fact, I'd be fine with how they looked, if it ALL looked like that. What really bugs me is that there is this "line" at 10' where shadows transform and it is VERY annoying. Any suggestions?
