So I was just thinking of something that would make water vehicles a little more useful, maybe if they added a hovercraft vehicle similar to the PBX size holding 2-4 people with an open top, it could also hold some gear, but not too much since the land water versatility of the vehicle is already really nice, the vehicle wouldn't be too quick and would be really hard to master turning n such, since there is so much drift on turns with hovercrafts. This would make island bases more accessible and usable, giving islands a little more use than they have right now, it would be a great vehicle to raid any of the coastal towns, and if you are really daring you could use it further inland too, but it wouldnt be as useful. making the vehicle hard to navigate with would counter act its seemingly OPness. please leave your thoughts comments and concerns :) thank you

So a hacker gave my buddy an as50 thermal, and then he gave it to me, the issue we have is even though we perfectly zero in the gun it doesnt hit anything. could it not work in game? i makes the shot noise and everything but doesnt hit

we'll call them ninja zeds or the drop bear zeds.
sgtcuddles replied to slartibartfast (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think it would change the whole A.I. theme the zeds have now. which is clueless until you provoke them with loud noises, shiny objects, or line of sight. so Im sorry but I do not like the idea of a creepin zed stalking me. -
Player Punishment Ratio Unacceptable

Well I dont think we will be seeing to much changing in physics, so good luck with that problem I've never encountered. -
I feel like a game like this one in standalone should utilize every terrain that presents itself. What a waste it is to have a body of water just for cruising around in a boat from coastline to coastline, lets see some SCUBA gear in the standalone. I want to be able to jump off my pbx fully suited ready to raid a coastal town from the harbor, or sneak up on an unsuspecting island camper, or steal someones boat as they refuel. If someone wants to experience a full on freeroam create your own story game, then I believe we should be able to experience every single terrain that presents itself in the game from mountain tops, high in the sky in a plane/chopper, valleys, rivers, and of course like I said underwater areas. If you can swim in the water why not be able to dive in it as well. New items introduced with this concept would be scuba gear, air compressor(tank refill), wet/dry suit(for survival in the waters, could also be used for just staying warm when swimming from island to coast), spear gun(could be used for fishing if they decide to add fish as a food source, and possibly as a land weapon for funny kills). Im just trying to optimizing the amount of options a player can have in this type of game. I would love to hear everyones constructive criticism

Thank you for posting that! thats going to be awesome if they decide to add it to the game

Id like to see in the new game a more in depth system on being able to tell the character of a survivor. Just like in real life, the things you do through out the day leaves its mark on you for the most part. like someone can tell if you are tired, stressed, or have been working hard. just like if you were to be a killer you would have signs of stress on your face. bottom line this game needs to establish a way of telling if someone is possibly safe to interact with and join up for awhile to safely loot a town, Ill be honest I dont trust anyone except my band of good friends in the game. If this doesnt stick with the game it will just turn into a senseless killing game. The fact that this is hardcore forces you to not trust someone, but if there was a way to do a risk to benefit when in encountering someone I would feel better about letting someone close to me. -
Thats good to hear. Its not like its a huge thing that needs to be added, its just another form of tactics and gameplay.the more options there are the better the game will become

Yeah, Im more excited to see extremely rough seas and thunderstorms. making the coast a dangerous place to be

I am sure the standalone game will have great environment changes and awesome weather changes. as far as in the mod Im not sure. but I love the idea, and if they dont add it in the standalone then I would say they failed big time in realism. Nothing brings realism more to a game than visualization.

I said before on another thread that food expiration would be a great way to stop food horders. can food could last longer of course, but you wonder how long has it been sitting on that supermarket floor? (if it was a real situation of course) I'd give canned food a few days and steak just half a day to a full day, food is just way to easy to come by and hold on to.

This could possibly be a good idea to somewhat limit the ability to respawn and run and get your stuff back, there could be a time period where there is a chance for the dead players corpse to reanimate and become a zombie.

Suggestions for the DayZ standalone - thinking outside of the limitations of an Arma 2 mod.
sgtcuddles replied to ruarz's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I can tell you right now above ground bases will never be added. Instead I hope they add more tools to secure an abandoned building or even a town, I want more options for road blocks, house barricades, more options for storage in cities. -

Your body should disappear after death
sgtcuddles replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Dont get me wrong, groups hording gear is annoying as hell, I agree. BUT you cant get mad that a group of players were able to survive an attack from another person. they deserve to be able to re obtain gear. If you or the person trying to kill someone cant finish the job then thats too bad, ( the job being securing the body and its contents, or just destroying the body and everything on it) -
I agree. Also I know the whole zombie apocalypse thing is fictitious, but those zombies you listed are a little too much for me. I however do agree that there needs to be more than just hobbling zombies and fast runners. but I would however like to see zombies that are a bit bigger, smaller. etc.. with a much more diverse health system making a lot of unique zombies. just like in real life all people are different, so zombies should be a little different too! But I totally understand why there isnt much diversity yet in zombies, but once we reach a standalone game im sure there will be a vast amount of different zombies, instead of just military and civilian zombies. like Police officers, doctors, nurses, and a list of professions that would go on forever, since there is a fair amount of buildings in the game right now that could use more profession oriented zombies.

If the standalone game gets a much larger and diverse map i totally agree with a camper in game. It would be hard to hide, and you would paint a big target on yourself, but you would get all the amenities listed above.

Your body should disappear after death
sgtcuddles replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Let me guess Tom Cruise beams your body up after you die and runs off to planet X with your loot? AMAZING. The whole point of having loot on bodies is replacing the whole "Boss" thing all other mmos have with an extremely unpredictable human player, the ultimate fight for the chance to get the best gear. I can't believe you would get rid of bodies. Leaving a tent out doesnt give you top tier gear again, there is no guarantee that your gear will stay there with all the players running around. If you cant kill someone then secure the body to loot it so they or their friends dont get it, then you just wasted a life for no reason. You need to be the reason they dont run and get their gear back. Kill would be literally pointless then. -
Death needs penalties. Suggestions welcome
sgtcuddles replied to Rising (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
well if there shouldnt be a bounty system then there shouldnt be any penalties at all for killing, the only reason i suggested it is because thats one of the main topics in this thread. there just needs to be a more in depth bandit system, most people wouldnt look the same after killing people for the first time in real life, you would start having changes in the way your facial features look, you might look more tired, stressed, older looking, you would start looking like you have some miles on you, not just having a towel wrapped around your head. I dont expect a system like that to be added anytime soon or even in this mod. But i do believe it is a really realistic way to show you are a killer. -
I think like in real life you should be able to have the option to remove certain vehicle parts to put them on another vehicle. Mainly tires and engine parts. I also believe though that once you fit a part to a certain vehicle that it becomes unique to the vehicle type, an example would be you couldnt take an atv tire off then fit it to a Ural. this idea could go really in depth as far as making more unique auto parts in the game, so you couldnt just fit any engine block to any vehicle. this would make obtaining vehicle parts for certain vehicles harder. but maybe lower end vehicles would have parts that are easier to find or may be interchangable. Please leave your thoughts comments and concerns about my idea! Thank you

seems like a silly waste of time to sit down and lite a cig, when you can just pop some painkillers and get on with it. maybe you could make painkillers have a down side if you were to use them too many times in a short period of time, which would make sense.

The announced base building + Suggestions!!
sgtcuddles replied to Kniekehlenheinrich's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
yeah underground is really the only thing that makes sense to save the game from players destroying the landscape like you see when you join a public minecraft server lol. Im just curious to see will other players be able to access my underground base? will there be manhole riddled across that map because of all these underground bases? This will be interesting to see how Rocket makes it work, because I dont have a good answer for any of the above -
negatory, unless they add a big wheel

Death needs penalties. Suggestions welcome
sgtcuddles replied to Rising (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Rocket has already mentioned giving players more options and choices giving each individual player more value alive then dead. The only punishment that should be implemented is a bounty system, anything else would be plain ridiculous. You have to be held accountable for your actions if the other players deem it necessary, its getting a bit annoying hearing people complain about people just killing other people, if you dont want to die play the game correctly, there is a reason it is a survival game, that itself is most of the rush of playing the game. Anything else would just be changing the game too much and making it unrealistic and annoying.
