    About ending a match...

But I'm not only asking about my stuff, is the world also persistent, i.e., do they never reset the world state? (not including server maintenance) How do they avoid players to get control of some territory or resource 'forever' without reseting the server from time to time?

    About ending a match...

Yep, you're both right, I was asking about persistence, thank you. It would be so boring if the game wasn't persistent. I asked this because I thought Arma II multiplayer was like Battlefield or CS (match based game, quick rounds, no persistence), and therefore since DayZ is an Arma mod I was afraid it wouldn't have persistence.

    About ending a match...

I'm willing to buy Arma because I loved the aspect of freedom in this mod, I'm free to do whattever I need to survive. That makes a lot of sense for me in a singleplayer game, I would play for many hours through days (saving the game), to see if I can beat it (gather resources that would make me improbable to get killed). But then I heard the developers are focusing more in the multiplayer version (did they abandom the singleplayer?) and so I'm here to ask about this: is it more like a MMO where I can continue the game from where I stopped or is it a mod about surviving a match? I don't want my objective to be "survive until I have leave the match to walk the dog in real life", you know?
