I've been wondering the same thing as the guy who started the topic, and you helped me a ton! I know it won't count my stats and stuff as a non-steam game, but I can access the overlay and take screenshots now. Thanks :)

Where is the launch with Steam option in Six? I haven't seen it.

Screw it, this is complicated. I'm just gonna use Six. Steam would be nice but too much of a headache.

Meh, too complicated. I'll just use Six and wait till DayZ becomes stand-alone and hopefully has Steam there :P

Wow... you are even paying attention to The War Z? One screenshot shows the home, or customization screen, before you hop into a game. It looks exactly like that F2P Battlefield Heroes game. That's not a good sign for a zombie MMO. DayZ will always be the ultimate zombie experience.

One of DayZ's main feature is perma-death. Remove it and you have nothing.

About your story, I wouldn't worry, you knew you did the right thing. I don't know about how much it takes though. But it SHOULD work like this: if you kill someone within a small amount of time they kill someone else, like your kill, then it should count as a bandit kill.

Don't suicide... would you do that in real life? Unfortunately you probably are going to die, but I wouldn't suicide. Look for a hospital, get a blood bag, then post on the forums where you are and hopefully someone will come and do a blood transfusion.

Looking for a guy named "MicLovin". He saved me from a crazy hatchet dude and found me a crossbow. We got separated by zombies and haven't seen him since. MicLovin, if you're reading this, this is James. PM if you wanna play again.

On my first ever life, I spawned near a small coastal town (try'd locating it on a map on teh interwebz but I couldn't find it) and I met up with some other new guy, we were about to go in for loot, when a zombie starts chasing me and we get separated. I haven't seen him since. After a close encounter with some bandits who chased me into the ocean, (lost my patrol pack) I start scavenging. I found a hatchet and some Pepsi, which I drank to save my life (water was flashing) I look around some more and some zombie starts chasing me and hits me, I kill the zombie and bandage myself up (11000 blood left) and I kill another zombie unharmed, hoping there is some beans on him, which there is not. Another encounter with zombies brings me down to 9500 blood. I was just outside of the town with my food red, but not flashing. I have already survived about 75 minutes, above the average of 49. I left the game there. When I joined again the next day, I was in the middle of nowhere with nothing. It didn't save my game. I understand it's an alpha, so I cheerily went on another adventure that day from fresh, but that's for another day :)

Wow man... awesome story. Tales like these remind why this is possibly the best game ever. I am still in my first life, about 75 minutes lived and counting, and I have not killed anyone is self-defense or murder, although I had a close call. Me and this other guy met up at a small coastal town, he seemed really nice. He told me how to type, and for that I am ever grateful :P We were about to enter a building to look for loot, as a zombie starts chasing me. He runs with me, and as soon as we reach a corner, he prones right at the corner of a building, and the zombie keeps chasing me. I see a harbor with another survivor carrying a hatchet on it, and also a survivor in the water. It looked to me as he was trying to help the guy in the water, so I approached. At this point I have literally 5 zombies on my tail, and as I approach I start screaming "Help!" He replays with a simple "no". Not ready to die just yet, I jump in the water, and I make the sacrifice of my backpack. I start swimming with the other guy in the water. I lost the zombies on the beach next to the harbor. So we are swimming to the shore, and the guy on the harbor throws a grenade at us! It doesn't damage any of us, but as soon as I reach shore I start sprinting. I turn my head to see the guy with the hatchet charging the guy I was swimming with. The guy I was swimming with pulls out a pistol and as I turn my head I hear a gunshot and see a "player was killed" message. (for privacy I am not going to name him, although I remember his name). I am still alive with a hatchet and decent food. I haven't seen anything of the guy I met up with at the beginning or the guy I was swimming with. And for some weird reason, I feel remorse for the guy that was shot, even though he try'd to kill me. I guess it's just the reason that I talked to him, a real person I talked with. Yeah...

Thanks :) I'll probably do one last run through the town for food and supplies, then look for deer stands and farms.
