  1. Kills the dreaded bambies and saves the bandits to earn their trust. But then gives the bandits HIV infected blood transfusion to watch them suffer a slow and agonizing death, atoning for the murder of bambies. Then sets off into the sunset/sunrise to do it again and again.

DayZ SA: One Key One Character

With one name per key it would make setting bounties a far easier thing to do. I am aiming to have a functioning town, a "safe zone" that functions as a trading hub and bounties is a thing I am hoping to achieve, with appropriate awards depending on what shit they've done on the same server. In the current way it all is, that is impossible. People can change their name if they wanna do "crazy shit", like run inside Cherno or Elektro with almost a guarantee of death and not have their reputation soiled and at the same time anyone else can use the same name and do all kinds of shit to tarnish a reputation that player has worked hard to achieve. So yeah, I would support that wholeheartedly. One key, one character, one reputation, one bounty. At the same time, I would love to get a way for bounty hunters to track down which servers a bounty frequents. Make it even harder to be an asshole, you know.

Death in DayZ and possible solution

While I can see it done, the problem is also that one can use dead bodies as a way to know there's been fighting and hostiles in the area. While it's close to impossible to know exactly when, you can somewhat know how "hostile" the area is depending on the bodies scattered about. Personally I would more like to see equipment being destroyed, damaged or just through pure luck pulls through after a player dies. Like, for lack of a better term, durability loss. You know that there's a big chance your shit got broken, why would you go all the way back? Maybe Zeds pick up the items on your body if it happened in a town.
  4. Depending on if he/she has seen me and what skin they are. First thing I do is lie low and see what they do from a distance. If it's obvious that they've seen me and aim in my direction, I back off to the nearest point where I'm out of any possible danger from them. Then I either back down completely or I start going after them if they are a bandit. If I'm severely outgunned and outmatched I run the hell away in the opposite direction. But, if I'm in a town, I avoid all form of contact until I can either shoot them in the back (bandit) or until it's clear for me to get away. If they go inside the same house, I sadly shoot them regardless of skin with the exception of Hero. If I'm lucky and only knock them out, assuming it's a Survivor skin, I bandage them up and then get out. If it's a bandit, I don't cheap out on bullets. But as for me, I get hella nervous, make no mistake about that. Rather close to shitting myself for most part, infact.
  5. Every single area in the entire map, every map, is hostile/unknown ground. Towns are just a bit more concentrated. While I agree that a group of zeds are nothing compaired to an armed player, you still get both the elements (zombies), other players and that player you're currently trying to suppress against you. Since your character doesn't feel any pain if a bullet happens to grace you, you'd be far better off making a run for it to safer ground, like a house or behind the opposite wall, than to start suppressive fire. Because other players play aggressively in towns, you have to do the same if you want to get in and out quickly. You will forever be at a vulnerable point if you actually do something beyond being sneaky sneaky. But, if you're there exclusively to KILL, then yes, staying in cover all the time is key. That would be common knowledge to pretty much everyone, it doesn't take a soldier or any military training to know that.
  6. You make it sound as Arma 2 and DayZ should be exclusive to army personell. I couldn't give less of a rats ass if a person I'm playing with/against is a soldier. It's a game. You don't have the same control of your character as you would have had. Your face value counts for nothing. Morals count for nothing. And supress in a zombie apocalypse? You'd announce your location to every single zombie in the entire town if you did that.
  7. Unless they are bandit skin, I won't initially shoot anyone claiming to be Friendly, but I will aim at their head and then depending on how they move, how they act and what they do, I might lower my weapon. Not saying I'm the best shot, but you don't have to be with an automatic weapon. Anyway, if the player then keeps ME at gunpoint when they were the ones that initiated contact I might well shoot first and ask questions later. A general rule of thumb for me is this; The player initiating contact is the one that should take the greatest risk and trust. I never wanted you to approach me in the first place, but I will not be an asshole and kill you. I give most players, that are not bandit skinned, the benefit of the doubt. If I die, I die.. but don't think you ever had me fooled, you just verified my suspicion.

So what are your plans for Standalone

I'm gonna make my own town! With blackjack.. and hookers! But really though, I do have the intense desire to make a tiny town, though I have no idea if something like that would ever be implemented. It just seems like a natural step to take if you survive long enough to actually do something beyond whine, cry, meaningless kills and die. What I'll likely do is make some sort of "trading hub". How it'll be safekept or guarded, I do not yet know.. but I do know the name of said trade hub; Junktown!

Have you ever been held up?

I've never been held up for gear, it's just snipe or shots without a word. I have held someone up myself, but not for their gear.. it was on Namalsk and my friend was in the same area with a broken leg so we couldn't get out of there fast. He was unarmed though, but with tons of weapon spawns surrounding us we couldn't let the guy stay unattended. Waited for my friend to crawl over and keep him at gunpoint while I searched for morphine. Found it in the end and then we let him go. Seems like the only ones that will hold you up are the ones that actually don't want to kill you nor wants your gear. You just happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. It doesn't really matter if you play on public or private.

    Server management & stand-alone

Thing about DayZ is that it's quite a different game from TF2 or any FPS. All are FPS, but you cannot tamper with the visuals or skins of DayZ too much before it could be considered unfair. The ghillie is just a skin, but if you were to freely give that out, it would give a very unfair advantage to whatever player had it. Or camo clothing, it would make you harder to spot. Weapon skins, it would be harder for opposing players to get a pinpoint on what weapon you're wearing and weapons are used for deciding if you should kill them or not. The game will feature, as far as I know, many different clothing options based on what you find. If it's there, you can wear it. So in a sense it makes it close to impossible and pointless to give out various skins for donations. In DayZ it seems that in order for a server to be successfull and live long, it has to have 24/7 daytime or Fullmoon every night, but once that is forcibly removed, all will be on equal footing again and people will play on servers depending on what people they meet.

    Dayz DB

I hardly believe any of us play this game to "save time". But with that said, I do use the map myself, not as much for loot as I do use it as a readable map, but I still do use it. But I used it exstensively for loot back in the day when I could never figure out what houses were enterable, it seemed to me that only one out of a hundred houses were enterable and even struggled finding them in Cherno before I knew what to look for.

    Trading Mountain Dew for...?

Awfully evil of you to ressurect such a long dead threat. Let the dead threads have their peace. Why the hell one would want to trade a life saving gun for a death inducing drink, if the legends are true, is beyond me anyway.
  13. Darkwater (DayZ)

So they promised they were not bandits but...

Yes, you keep the skin until your humanity is high/low enough. If you die as a bandit, you respawn as a bandit. Survivor, as a survivor and Hero as a Hero. Though it might refresh and give you the skin that fits your humanity, like if you reach 0 from negative and bandit state, you might respawn as Survivor.
  14. Darkwater (DayZ)

So they promised they were not bandits but...

Death of "unwilling bandits" is just one of those things that will happen when you hunt down bandit players. It's just too risky to let them live or believe their sob stories. There are no accidential Survivors or Heroes, so there's obviously more reason to let those live without using projectile justice. I'm sure some of the bandits I've killed are really actually good guys who have been in a bad position, but if you show yourself as a bandit you really should know and take into account that many people WILL not trust you and that you run a risky buisiness just being there. Don't whine and bitch if you die then. I've been there myself, and while I started that journey from -30k Humanity, I throughout that time stayed out of places I would risk gunfights, only going amongst where I would highly risk running into players when I had to get food and/or drinks, which I had to considering the drop from -30k took a loooooong time and no one trusted me to give them blood.. not that I blame them. Bandit hunters are just as merciless towards Bandits as Bandits are towards any other groud, including other Bandits. It's just the way it is. Don't wanna risk running into one, then stay/get the hell outta dodge.

    250+ vehicles and Max vehicles?

Basically means more than the normal spawn, I assume. Like 250 vehicles plus the normal ones? Max Vehicles is a toughie, since there seem to be an unlimited amount you can put in. I've seen servers that say they have 1000 vehicles. It's hellish. Don't play on those if you want an DayZ experience as it should be.

    Blood: Let's get this right

In a sense of realism there's two things I would like see implemented; Skills and bloodtype. Skills; I'm just one of those that feel a gradual increase in abilities would increase your desire to keep your character alive. Not levels, by all means, but efficiency. If you live long enough, if you do it often enough, you could call yourself a medic/doctor/nurse or something like that. To transfuse blood your character would require basic medical abilities. I also would f-ing love to see that high "level" docters were in need to remove projectiles from the body of people having been shot.. it's not exactly something you can commonly do yourself without more than likely dying in the process from bleeding out. They would really have to be removed even if not lodged in any vital spot because of infections. It could, for instance, hinder your characters gradual healing and/or make them more or less dependant on painkillers/morphine until removed. Bloodtype; Pretty obvious. I cannot get any kind of blood in my body. For sake of gameplay purposes, that would be something you knew right off the bat and not need a laboratory to find out, but it would make it harder to find the blood you need and would make it more valuable for trade.

    Day Z Urban Legends

I did go out to Skalisty Island a little while ago with fraps running the entire time to hopefully document any weird happening. It wasn't in the middle of the night, but it was early evening so it wasn't completely dark nor bright.. more grey-ish. The first thing I saw was russian text as I got close to shore coming from a player not on the server. It did make me reconsider, but I pressed onward. Sadly, that was the only scary thing that happened, however I DID die during exploring when I was underneath the boatdock-house thing, but I really just credited that to the water pushing me up against the floor above me and crushing me. I will be sure to go back soon enough when it's even more late in the evening. Hopefully something happens to me that will make me never want to go back.

Where will you take a dump in the Standalone?

Shitting on your dead opponents WILL be the new teabagging in DayZ now. I'm expecting to see a myriad of dead bodies, unlooted and with piles of crap ontop of them.

    Antibiotics are bugged

After they go north of Stary Sobor, a player is no longer a bambi in my opinion. Anyway, people sniping for shits and giggles deserve the worst in my opinion, hope it goes a step further and your character has a severe allergic reaction and dies. But as far as if it's a bug.. never had it happen to me, but that doesn't mean a whole lot. Logging and relogging didn't work? Is the cough as severe as before? You could have become sick again, since you aren't immune from the infection after taking antibiotics, it just goes back to square one.

    The Walking Dead and DayZ

The player versus player aspect is a very important part of the game. The zombies are sadly far too weak to even be considered a threat and effects they have on your player are miniscule, even a newbie armed with the Makarov is more dangerous than a horde of zombies as it is right now. To some extent, that would hold true in the real world aswell, a gun would have a far bigger effect on your life expectancy than a horde of zombies would, since you cannot outrun a bullet no matter how hard you try. However, it's the attitude of the players that has proven to be the big threat in this game. People kill indiscriminately, for fun, for excitement, just to be a complete asshole. Because it is a game, there is no immediate threat or moral qualms , nor would you be hunted down because you can hide your identity should you be seen, and after wrecking havoc on one server you can just move onto another and start all over again with no one being the wiser. All in all, I feel that the zombies in DayZ need a massive boost and change in mechanics to see any kind of change in gameplay. In every other zombie setting (movie or game) the zombies seem to be more prone to wander around in search of food, not just stay in one place as they do here. Also, they are far less willing to actually give up on their pursuit of your fresh, delicious meat. So what I would like to see for DayZ is probably impossible, but the only way I can imagine the game to start "working as intended" again; Zombie spawns in forests, wanders in groups all over, harder to kill, generally a massive threat in massive numbers, infection and diseases, things that force you to keep moving. And add to that all the natural threats you would have, and in the end I would think random kill on sights would lessen, atleast by snipers and long range, and in towns people would be forced to think further ahead than after the bullet leaves the barrel.

    Server US 845, hacker admin

This should really be posted in the "Server reporting" section, not the general discussion. I'm assuming it will be moved soon enough anyway.

    Day 65

I survived 3 weeks multiple times and only once was I killed legitimately, and that was to a hero of which there was a misunderstanding. A real misunderstanding that is, the voice chat didn't work for neither and it was dark, none of us could see eachother clearly (both hero skinned) and someone fired in our direction, causing us to both open fire at eachother. I got all my loot back after but it was sad to see my character go like that. The other times I've died to hackers in a myriad of ways, from being turned into an animal and subsequently offed or been taken control off and then been snuffed while saluting. If my character survives past 1 week, I always get killed by hackers, since by then I'd like to consider myself smarter than to wander around in Cherno and/or Elektro while carrying a lit flare.

    Modded Dayz is dull because..

What I feel about the cars is not the cars themselves nor the number of them, nor even the amount of fuel, but rather the ability of any survivor to be a fully capable MASTER mechanic and fix them at a moments noitice. Like.. engine parts? I wouldn't even know where to start and when to stop with that kind of stuff and that is the case for most people, even people claiming to know that stuff. Windows? Are we all fully capable of cutting a sheet of glass into perfect shape so that it fits? And not to mention the hull.. does the toolbox carry a welding tool to weld metal bars and fix the structual integrity or fix holes in the door/trunk/roof/hood and so on. I'm one of those that feel DayZ need a more RPG side to it, not levels, but skills that increase over time. Only skills that are useful for other things than the act of shooting and killing. Skills that would give you reason to want your character to survive for as long as possible. And that goes for both modded servers and "vanilla" servers.

    Everything gone, except ghillie suit

It was all really earned through dishonest ways, not your own doing neccessarily so I won't point any fingers and say "HAH". Some of my own gear is probably hacked or duped in too since I've got it off bandits I've killed through my time, but really it shouldn't have been in your inventory from the very start. You still have a ghillie suit, so just praise tha lawd for that one and use it but find the rest of your equipment in a honest way. The reason why you kept you Ghillie is probably because it was on your character instead of in his inventory, the server had a rollback and/or sucks balls and didn't send every piece of information to the HIVE and in result you lost equipment that you just looted since you logged on, but your character and what he is wearing is obviously one of the bare essentials it sends and thus it saved the Ghillie. I've had the exact same issue as you on a public hive server back in the day, only I wasted about two hours of gathering loot. It's a server side issue and nothing you can do about it.

    Heli Crash Sites help

Have you tried logging onto another server hosted by Multiplay and asked on side/global chat if they have the same issues? It's a vague answer, and I apologize for that, but it would be the best thing to do in this situation. As far as I know, helicrash sites are not controlled by the admin, it's a static variable, changing from 2-6 sites with each reset and being everywhere on the map that's open fielded, and some even in the forests. If the other servers don't share the same issue, then it's just gotta be a case of very bad luck and few spawns in very remote parts of Chernarus.
