    Known bug ?

    That is the infamous rubberbanding bug, it is known, probably worked upon (they tried kinda hotfixing it, whioch didn't work so well). It is basically the desync bug of doom or so.

    The Russian Sleep Experiment .

    Sleep deprivation alone can cause seizures, let alone for that amount of time. It is a common torture method, and if continued long enough will lead to death by itself alone...or suicide by the victim, if possible. Also, responses may vary...a more sane individual might just attack the oppressors like a wild animal, if given the opportunity...guess not a good explanation for an epidemic, but for a local scenario...gruesome, though!

    So, how about crossbows, and bows?!

    Hey fellow survivors...as we are expecting to see a more refined version of the game during development, handling weapons like the crossbow or a bow, which also could be crafted by the player, should be easy in the Standalone. I would like to see these weapons, and maybe the possibility to craft your own wooden arrows for them, in the game. It would be very much fitting for the survival elements of the game, and could add to the playstyle of some crazy loners out there...who might or might not just shoot you with their bow/crossbow from the nearest hedge which they have been hiding. And keep in mind: This would be an almost completely silent way of shooting... ;-) Anyone else want a crossbow? ^^

    Wells

    I think implementing wells the way they are is much intended by the devs. Thy are like the watering holes of the desert, where the antilope will meet the lion... There are some regions, notably in the north, which do not have many wells. But I agree, some areas could use a few less of them maybe. I am very much against a basic infection chance from wells, but if another, sick player has used it before, maybe it should spread the disease? (edit: The water purification tablets do not seem to work properly, it always uses the whole stack for a single use)

    How to make the map more engaging.

    Some really nice suggestions. Especially the city up in the northwest +1000!! you have my beans. I also like the cinema, or the fortified house or the survivor camp out in the woods. They also stated that they wanted to include some kind of small docotr's office in the north and western towns, so you wouldn't necessarily always need to go to Cherno or Berezino to stock up on medical supplies.

    Stream Sniping A Huge Problem

    JP McDaniel was streamsniped, or so it seemd, yesterday. But he's prtty nubby too... ;-) still like his style. But really, more than "pls do not streamsnipe" will never work...it is just a matter of manners. Many guys would just love to battle Sacriel's team. I think it would be legit to find them via stream...but to use it to gain an unfair advantage? nah! I say NAY

    I think the map is too small for cars. Am I the only one

    I want to see Choppers, I mean BIKES, and by bikes i mean not BIKES, but the ones with an angine! Secondly, I want torn-up vehicles that look like Mad Max drove them around, and I want them to get stuck in the mud on an uphill drive through grass when it is raining, beacuase fu** you that is what my car would do IRL, as long as you don't have a 4x4 you should be 75% fu**ed! That should even the odds a bit. sticking to the roads for the 2x4 would be mandatory. And noone cmplain about that, try driving your car through 5" deep mud in a field...see?? NOPE. The map will get bigger, once they add stuff up north. That WILL make a difference, and you basicvally NEED a car around there ^^

    .357 op

    Have you ev er seen the test shot of a .357 magnum through a block of ballistics gel? The damage is not just where the "canal" of the bullet itself is, but maybe around 1-2 inches around, by tearing of tissue. Even more tissue will be lacerated by the hydrodynamic forces exerted by the bullet, organs like liver, spleen, kidneys, or your aorta are most prone to it. And damage to your aorta means bleeding to death in about <1 minute. Source: Forensics & being a doctor. That shit is extremely dangerous!! I agree though, I do not want a one-shot-kill wepaon handy all the time. Sucks pretty much. Nerf! (omg it has begun!) But nerf because of balance, because soimetimes, just screw realism.

    I see that the guy in the grass is actually lying around in rendered foliage, not in a bare square as he would be in dayZ mod/Arma 2. That is nice! :-)

    Just sit down and rest awhile...

    Epic stuff. Most people forget that the Arma engine has been designed to do all that. gradual morning for 1 hour...realistic stars at night...clouds...etc.
  12. The way better interaction with the world and the objects in it will add a LOT, even if they are not fleshed-out yet. I don't like base building, but temporary camps with tents, and maybe fences and stuff should be possible. It takes away a bit from the survival aspect initially, but rewards you with group-PVP, so "base-Building" really factors into the "rewarding PVP/PVE" section imho. I also like the roleplay/social interaction component (I play the game to be a postapocalyptic survivor)...but at the end of the road, what will make the Standalone better than any of the mos of the mod, is its system of organizing objects, crafting, rearranging, and the many possibilities that arise from that (spreading disease, disinfecting stuff, writing notes for others to read, making an IED to blow someone up, set a trap, ingame talk via radio...this will make the game all the more immersive and cool. I mean there is the possibility to orient yourself at nighttime by using the constellations of stars?! That's fu**ed up deep, man! (I know it was in Arma II too).

    server hop ghosting SOLUTION!!!

    Given the momentary state of the game this would be bull**it, straight out, couldn't call it any less. Who has fu**ing 15 minutes as a wait time to waste? I sure don't. After having disconnects very very often atm, this mechanic would get me into the proposed waiting line after about one to two hours of playing. And please nobody bring up breaking point, that thing is crap right out the box. All your suggestions are nice people, but it needs to be implemented nicely, so you get a warning to not change servers, and then eventually - not after the 2nd change - get a slight delay, that would increase with every new serverhop, until it maybe is at 15 or even 30 minutes for the determined serverhopper.

    Most common ways you guys die.

    The first two lives I died while taking on Zeds in melee without having the hang of the system... Third time I get axe-murdered with no reason on the coast by a guy sneaking up behind me... Fourth time character database wipe... Fifth time had low blood and saw only black and white, being ambushed by a guy with a Shotgun north of NWAF in the middle of nowhere... That's it so far. Had at least 2 friendly encounters with guys who had a M4...

    Rocket in holiday doesn't mean nothing happens

    "They sell this mod for 30$?" is extremely dumb and ridiculous of an exclamation/Question. And I'd say, yes, after getting out the Alpha, doing 2 patches in the first few days alone, they have deserved, and well deserved, their Christmas/New-Years holiday. It is not like they are doing something so important they could'nt operate on a bare minimum team, or even have a general holiday, around Christmas. They do not deliver the electricity our civilization runs on, they are not the firefighters, or have to keep a hospital for the sick and injured running. They just have to tend for the released game. Be content with it people. If they have th next patch due next week, kudos! I would not have expected a patch before maybe Jan. 9/10...
  16. Guys, just let us think of the following: The Standalone was kinda delayed a long time. Many people stated that they had no interest anymore in it. Many even stated, that it had outlived its hype and it would fail. The wailing and whining of those people did surely add a feeling of uncertainty for the developer. BIS is a small Indie-studio. If they dump several million $ into a project, and then it sucks because nobody is interested in it anymore...they are dead, they lose their jobs. And with all the complaining on the 'net, that seemd to be a possibility. Not one that I could sse, because everyone I fu**in' knew said they were going to get the game some time or another, but hey. So I think it went this way: Resources for the Standalone were not as much priuoritized as we would have thought they should be, and maybe BECAUSE of the whining of this wonderful community (mostly on reddit, though). What I guess, they really only tried to reach an Alpha state for the SA, which they in my opinion even failed to do by now - and put it out for sale, along with a warning that it is early Alpha stuff. To see if the fears of "OMG noone will get it, Zombies are soo 2012, and it is late and has outlived its time blabla" were justified, or if they could really dig into the project some more. And hell, the game is kinda unfinished, with Zombies WIP, lacking a lot of weapons, and the crafting system...but it is damn fun to play still! After all, it IS the basis for what the mod should have been. That being said, I think they will ramp up their efforts to finish th game features and deliver a nice end product now. Because the risk is lower (aka there is none, as the work-to-do has already been paid for), and the gain in profile and user trust by this alone justifies throwing millions at the project to keep it going. Earning >15 million dollars is something that doesn't happen often within one month for a small developer like BI (ok, selling an additional million copies of Arma II because of DayZ mod was nice, too.)! So, well played Rocket, well played indeed. Love the game, and how deep the mechanics of it seem to go now.

    Is clothing just for looks?

    This would be quite interesting. They said they would include that system. It makes the game more authentic and immersive. Temperature plays a big role. "I feel cold" "I am freezing" "I can't feel my toes anymore" etc. as a message, a statur bar in the inventory like for food and drink. I guess as long as you cannot make a campfire amongst other things, the system is disabled. But I sure HOPE it will be fully decked out sometime in the future.

    Night time exploit

    Some people stated that you actually see better with clouds on max. settings. I love playing at night. Especially on a low pop. server, with only a few people online, while it is past 11pm in RL, too. You meet a lot of friendlies then...

    Guess we all need to learn Russian now? dafuq. Chernarus is suppoes to be a place on the Black Sea coast...I guess? Also, someone stated, that you could tell exactly at what °N it is situated by looking at the night sky?

    Why is Podeba Dam gone?

    I don't care about the damn dam, but they said they wanted to include some new towns up north? There are currently open fields, a few farm buildings, and dirt roads en masse. What's up with that? And what about the occasional doctor's office they promised to have as an alternative to hospitals in the little town up north...so you don't need to go to Berezino/Cherno everytime a rabbit bites you. I guess it is really WIP. I guess Ivan Buchta also stated something about a whole year he needed to complete the revamp. Might see map updates in the future. Along with character wipes all over again?

    Very Low FPS with Good PC

    Follow the tips Frankie gives on his Beginner's video...basically, put everything you don'Ät actually need to low or disable for best resuslts. i have a GTX 670 and a nice Quadcore with 8GB of RAM, which easily runs Cryengine with 40 fps no matter what, DayZ/Arma2 and the DayZ Standalone are literally the only games that give me between 11-25 fps on max. settings. Turn on fraps and adjust stuff, look at the fps counter. I tried lowering resoultion from 1920x1080 to 1024x768, gave me exactly 1-2fps. But there are options that should help. Turn objects detail to low. Antialiasing and the other stuff in the same menu off (gave me 8-10 fps). The game is not as optimized as we had hoped for. But hey, alpha. choochoo

    Lost in the mountains

    You are in debug-land. If there are literally no vegetation or other landmark indicators, then you are outside of the "real" map. The f***ing clouds do NOT always go from west to east straight away, at least not if you have them on ultra high quality, I can confirm this. Sent me to a voyage I almost starved on...but I do actually know the woods to the west, I recognized some trees or something...so I kinda know where east is...can someone work out orientation using the night sky constellations in the Standalone? Because I guess that's what saved me, when I came to a clearing! SEEMS to still work like in the mod!

    Yes Rockitt give campfire plzzz! Had to join this...somehow it bothers me, I should be able to create fire! Aye! The master of fire. Setting buildings on fire would be on the to-do list I guess. But the flames...so shiny... ;-) Guitar? I can't play guzitar <--sad panda

    Consider prioritizing this in upcoming fixes.

    Concerning OP's points: 1) NO! 2) Well, a bit maybe, it does make little sense now... 3) NO! 4) NO. Too Simple. Basically, again someone asking to simplify the game. As I am in no way opposed to making melee actually work better, the steps mentioned to make life easier should definitely not be taken, given the outlook and vision for this game... And you shpuld spawn with a flashlight dammit, I lost mine somewhere...now night is a nightmare! edit: They should definitely fix the animals-making-zombie-noises! Happens most often at night and ruins gameplay utterly and totally...and should be very easy to fix (remove all animals, they are no good for anything atm!). That being said, I want to be able to make a campfire in the backwoods. Don't need to cook something on it, but we were promised better-looking campfires. Where are these? Fix that! ;-)
