I'm liking what I've been hearing. (for the most part) But people have to get that banning willy nilly is just stupidity at its finest. Reading some stupid div commenting that its guaranteed he dc'ed on purpose is stupid. Unless he's your mate sharing a flat and you turn over and say. 'Dave what the hell I was shooting you' and Dave turns and says "I disconnected I didn't wanna die' whereupon you smack him upside the head. You can't be 100% positive. So stop with the amen to banning people who dc. Jesus the amount of times I've been playing and just connection problems that disconnect me. Or times the game becomes unplayable during a desync patch. I've had to dc so I don't die from something I can't see. (Zeds, never players) And again unless you can have some surefire way to know when a player force dc'ed don't implement something where the player stays where they were for thirty seconds. I have been chased by zeds I've had connection problems. I would flip a shit if I died because it forced my char in game to stand there and be devoured for thirty seconds. But I do agree we could use a timer of some sort. Last thing is that you have to be sure they know the rules. Not everyone reads these forums and the rules. E.G the people that are buying Arma exclusively for this mod.

Question about characters and different hard drives.

O.k so earlier I was playing with a few friends. We have been surviving for quite a while and have collected some nice gear. We unanimously decided to stop and play later on tonight. I just a few hours ago fixed my main hard drive (long story short it wasn't working I fixed it. It had been giving me problems for around a week) I've transferred my profile data from my second hard drive to my main. My question is, will my character be safe, is that stuff kept on a server to that profile name or what. I can switch to my other hard drive but I would prefer not to. Thanks in advance. Hunter. -
My first experience was a short one. I spawned walked literally (I shit you not) fifty feet. Turned to my left, oh look a fellow survivor. Blam, blam, blam. Shot to death not thirty seconds after starting.

Ok people here's what you do. Follow what some Counter Strike servers do. When you enter the game some servers will have a pop up message that lists the rules. Put at the top read before playing. Then they can't claim ignorance As it is right now, unless you have 100% concrete evidence someone is DCing on purpose and are 100% sure they knew the rules, then the whole thing is a pile of shite. If I don't know the rules it wouldn't be fair to ban me outright, give me a warning and if I do it again, fine. Then it goes back to 100% evidence. E.G how do you know their internet didn't go down, or their power or something else. You can say. 'Well look at the situation. I was shooting at him and he DCed.' That doesn't mean it's accurate. Unless he's your neighbor and you know there was no power outage and his internet didn't go down, then you don't know it wasn't some freak accident that happened at a time that benefited him amazingly. Plus the whole if they DC keep their character there is crap. If my internet takes a dump, or my power goes out, I would be mighty pissed if I go back to find I died because of that incident. I would say a twenty second logout clock after you either fire your weapon or take damage would work. Well that's my two cents anyways.
