When you see someone type or ask them with caps lock if they are friendly. Stay hidden and keep an eye on them. What I usually do is watch them for a bit before approaching or saying anything. If they have friends they will most likely kill you since most groups are on skype or team speak talking about you. I have come into this game being shot on site so most likely, I will shoot you on site if you have a weapon that looks threatening. Also pay attention to the weapon, most sniper carriers use them to kill players because believe it or not it is hard to kill zombies with a sniper rifle (not 100% of the case when you see a survivor with a sniper).

Do ammo crates spawn in the world? I found a one on a shore but it was empty. Does that mean a hacker has spawned it or they randomly spawn sometimes?

Yea If that was me and a friend who you snuck up on like that I would have shot out of surprise. Also You should have checked the rooms before hand before directly going in. I always make sure buildings are empty before entering. You could have simply looked through a window and asked them if they were friendly from outside the house. Never assume someone is friendly and never assume that buildings are empty also.

Every MMO I have played and even PVP games you have to wait a certain amount of time to log. Such as WoW you can't log for like 10 seconds, but when your in a safe zone you can log immediately. They should put in a timer when logging such as a 10 second timer, but while they DC they must sit or lie down and cannot use their weapon. I feel that is a fair DC process.

Yesterday when i logged on, I thought about this forum and I logged into stary (logged in a field and ran to stary). I always come from the woods to see if anyone is camping the tents, of course I see a guy. I slowly approach him and ask him if he is friendly. He turns around real fast and starts shooting immediately. I killed him and I guess he had a buddy in the woods also because I got hit some more and died. Lol and this is the reason why I just shoot anyone I see unless I know them off hand.

Yes it happens when you log off too fast. Lets say you find a downed chopper and you find a box of medical supplies, so you grab some blood and morphine. If you directly log off with-in 1-3 minutes after taking those then sometimes you will log back in to nothing. It happens a lot to people who log in confrontations such as at the air fields. You shoot at them they log off and they log back in with no loot because the server did not have time to save them.

Me and a friend was in the barracks and we found a M4A3 with Holo and M203. Wouldnt seem adding a silencer would make much of a difference but I guess it does :P

I started about a week ago and this is what happened to me while playing. I was always shot on site no matter what I had on me, could be a hatchet and I would get sniped or shot. In return I have pretty much got the game down, been to the airfield 4 times and stay around Stary for downed choppers (found 3 so far). I have become hardened and shoot on site with anyone I see. There are a few players I have met because they were unarmed but I literally almost shot because most people wouldn't have done me the same favor when I was new walking up to geared players.

I have met two players who were pretty nice to me in Stary. I do not take chances so I usually will shoot you if I don't know you. Only time I do not shoot is if you are unarmed or have a hatchet/crow bar.

Today has probably been my best run in dayz so far. I have looted 2 helicopter crashes and been to the air field twice without dyeing...of course we killed a guy because most people at the air field are hostile. Probably been playing it for a good 4 hours so today my best so far.

Yea me and a recently new friend found a guy in the middle of know where killing zombies, we help him and he says friendly don't shoot. I turn around and we continue to our destination and he fires at us while we are getting ready to enter the woods. I found two friendly people at Stary because my legs were broken and they gave me morphine. Probably the only two friendlies I have known so far on here.

If it means that you have to go and collect them...elektro and cherno have so many hidden snipers they do not even look into the bodies they kill. They do it for game.

I always shoot first if they are armed...lol I was tired of being killed as a newb so I have a zero tolerance on anyone I see that can be a danger to me. Also most people lie to me when they say they are friendly.
