Why do people think there would be more civilian weapons than military?

If we are talking about the former Soviet Union, it is not an AK-47 or AKM, but just the AK-74 remain numerous. But again, not in all ex-USSR republics. From some of them, soviet weapons was moved onto Russia territory. -
Guns I Dont / Want To See In The Game

Imo, most common guns must be hunting rifles. Something from Benelli, Baikal, IŽ. Also some bolt action (maybe also more rare semi-automatic) hunting rifles for .223 Rem. From the civilian handguns i guess fit good Glock19, CZ 75 Compact, even old walther P38 and P08, because they use common ammo. Also some rare Colt1911 might be, they too are sold in Eastern Europe. About the military weapons I already wrote something, it becomes boring. -
And with changing a north-west international airport into old military airbase of heavies bombers, i also suggest to add there some long since thrown barracks. Like this

That's the point of DayZ - you will learn something about the people, and these lessons are relatively inexpensive, if compared to the same situations in RL.

If there is something, what don't make sense, then this, that so small country has the opportunity to maintain the several military airbases. The reality is different, mostly. I would assume that Balota's airfield would turn into the airport of agricultural Aviation. And there could be put a couple of AN 2. Also maybe one of the fire-fighting AN 2. Something like here. At same time i would suggest to change the North-West International Airport into Military air base, where once was a Soviet heavy bombers, and later some Chernarussian fighter jets. Maybe, if in future we will see capital city of Chernarus , it is logical to assume that the international airport will be close to it. imho. ....

Since the Pobeda dam is mentioned in DayZ Standalone Wiki as part of Crenarus+, is very likely, that it will be in DayZ SA. http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Chernarus%2B

Though i don't want many military weapons into game, there is some sense in this, that they may be also in residential buildings. Some ex-USSR republics have relatively large paramilitary organizations, which members holds its weapons and ammunitions at home. Mostly they use the Swedish Ak4 (variant of G3 ), and also M14. Depends by the backstory, is this suitable also to the Chernarus or not. -

IIRC, we don't know yet the backstory of DayZ SA. It don't need to be same as in mod. These M4 may belong to defense forces of Chernarus. -

IMHO, hunting rifles would be much more frequent, than handguns. It is in Eastern Europe. -
As we know, Chernarus is a fictional post-Soviet state. That mean, in Soviet times, there wasn't a state border between Russia and Chernarus. If we look at the map of existing, planned, and the unfinished Russian nuclear power plants, then we see how relatively close are some of them to ex-soviet republics borders. Also some ex-soviet states have its own nuclear power plants.

Also, developers could give some zeds their own faces. And even better, make the competition between players, maybe it's a lot of them, who want to see own face on some of zeds.

I still think, that for this is needed an additional part of map, on north. Something like this. Some passes through the mountains, maybe also a railway tunnel.

Some ex-USSR countries already use M16 and M4, though less than H&K. Also many of East Europe countries use NATO standard ammo . AK-74(5.45x39) though would be good to find in prison system, imho. I have heard, that dev's had plans about a prison.

I guess, this would fit, if dev's will prolong the map on north. Across the proposed mountain ridge. Somewhere to Russia territory. Now, there was a nuclear power station, where "something" happened after people have lost control over station.

Why you needs there more players? More stuff for you...Also, maybe Dean will later add several passes through "north Mountains" to Russia? Where would be more new stuff and another area to play..? :) -
I hope there won't come nametags. Though would be interesting, if some kind of "mouth" on a personage face would move, if he speak on in-game chat. I mean, a little more visible.

That was long time ago somewhere proposed - so-called spawning penalty. If this would tied with others suggestions, then it might work, at least somewhat. Than longer a character was "to live" in game, the close its new spawn (after death) would be to the green dashed line. Than shorter was its life, the closer its new spawn would be to red dashed line. Logically, this map is only a schematic "art", because I do not know how big will be the final map . -

I will to say, that based on a experience from some other games, i guess bigger problem is always - the game becomes steadily more boring. Especially, if you add to the long term players some different advantages. Most of them will lose interest. Though the idea about giving to long term players a little DISADVANTAGE seems too seditious, there is some point. Therefore beards and braids can give for those players additional layer of game - more fears. Fears is a feelings that sells. OK, they might have possibilities to hide braid, or even cut away braid and beard, if they fear too much. But sometimes you need to fear. At least from game. -

Female players? A some kind of long braid...
