Friendly fire is a part of real life too. Yes, people have different shapes etc, but due transience in battle you have very little time too see those "body shapes, colors". I don't even mean different weather conditions, time of day, different types of light, circumstances when you don't see a face of the "target" as you see it only from a back etc. etc. That's why why I recommended in this theme more headwears with different shapes, because just headwears are most distinguishable part of person in many circumstances in battle. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/166954-some-variants-of-headwear/#entry1693942 ..

Chernarus needs much bigger forested areas, to implement plausible hunting, imho.

The Community's List of Suggested Weapons for Dayz Standalone (Version: 1.29)
gregor (DayZ) replied to alexeistukov's topic in Suggestions
In Russia, to obtain the license for the weapon with a rifled barrel, the person has to be connected by profession with hunting or to own at least 5 years the license for the smooth-bore weapon. And yes, as here already mentioned, not AK, but semi-automatic variants - Saiga, Vepr, Tigr etc. -
There is even more drawbacks, like temporary blindness from oncoming light and even from muzzle flash from own weapon (some NVG can get even malfunction, depending by intensity of light source). Sure, exist some possibilities to reduce this, by filters, muzzle compensators etc, but they have its own drawbacks. PS. I'm not a fan of adding NVGs.

As well luggage carts near the train stations, which can be pushed by hands or can be towed by some vehicle.

I wish that military gear/weapons were really rare
gregor (DayZ) replied to JAGTAG9606's topic in General Discussion
I hope, that the old bolt action rifles stay more frequently in game, than modern automatic weapons. Make even them a rarity, would be, a mistake, in my humble opinion. I see it too so, that "something" happened some months ago, and now is time to be gatherer. Although here is room to more hardest survival game. Something so - Chernarus+ (South Zagoria) needs a western part - wild area, thick forest, bogs, lakes, ponds, some very rare small villages, rare forest huts, narrow dirty roads, etc. A place, where hunting rifles would be way more prefered, than military weapons. Presumably, it would also be an incentive for the old-timers, try the game again, even if they are tired of the old map. Only question, is that possible... -
Logically AKM are common in third word. Also in that part of Eastern Europe, what was outside USSR the AKM isn't uncommon. I talked about ex-USSR, where mainly people have seen only the deactivated AKM (and an earlier version) in schools on lessons of basic military training.

Yep, crutches would be needed. More widespread simple wooden crutches and less frequent folding crutches. IIRC, this is in progress...

A soviet chainsaw "Druzhba", which weight 12,5 kilograms, would be appreciated.

I guess, if in game will be decently implemented hunting (with animals, maybe some birds like ducks, wood grouse etc), it will be replacement to any sports.
-
Game isn't set in Russia, but in former USSR. And again - in ex-USSR wasn't used name of AK-47. But simple Avtomat Kalashnikova. Even so, it was very long time ago obsoleted. Even AKM is very rare in use, most of them are at military depots.

update 0.36.115535 - disappointing!
gregor (DayZ) replied to timedance's topic in General Discussion
Imho, would be good to have a separate subforum for the experimental branch. -
Possibility to play cards, maybe also flying disc games (i've heard about existence of Fight Club), gathering of mushrooms (very rare truffles). As here was mentioned, lockpicking. Example - the safe, not more than one per server (but always exist possibility, that less). In random places. You need to find it, and after that to find the proper tools to open it without damaging contents. Though is hard to imagine what it might be, that would be interesting and at the same time do not interfere the game. A Radio-scanner, golden Desert Eagle, crown of Miss Cherno for GF or what?

Although this isn't much about a loot itself, but more about places. Firstly the luggage chambers. Here are a few pictures. One is from the medium-sized station, and others are from a small station (though seems abandoned a long time ago). Can only be opened with a crowbar or by axe (but then need much longer time and would be more noisy). Secondly, wagons and carriages..They can stand at the stations, on a siding. A luggage car... A postal wagon...There may be some packages and parcels. A prison wagon..(maybe some Makarovs and a cheap food, also there would be zeds-prisoners, who are locked in its chambers and accidentally any door might be unlocked...). Also so called fire train (widely used in former USSR), which consist from some carriages with equipment for fire fighting and without locomotive. They may stand on some medium-sized stations/hub, in railway single-ended sidings. More as immersion and authenticity, though may be also some loot, like food and clothing from sturdy material. Maybe for current map this would be too much, but exist a hope for the much bigger map.

That would be awesome, though i guess, it would be very hungry feature...In Arma 3 I play already mostly without PiP.
