Doing some cool stuff, hanging out, oh, and smashing zeds ofcourse!
-
Phew, that's a relief. Thanks buddies!
-
So it's still fun! Best answer I could wish! You made my day AND some beanz!
-
So it's two weeks since I left and couldn't play as my beloved hat-dude. Two weeks I could only read these forums, and I noticed it overwhelming with hackers/cheaters reports which made me anxious about launching DayZ now, when I'm back. So what do you think guys? Should I come back to our dearest post-apocalyptic CR, or would it be better to sit still and wait for miracle? Also, you got my beans for some hacker-smacker tips! Well, or at least hacker-survivor tips...
-
If you can remember, there were some missions in ARMA 2 whre you could build small bases in order to improve you survival chances against assaulting troops. Would be great to have a few walls and a couple of spotlights within your night camping.

Is there a COOP version of this mod?
Drey replied to sostronk's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, I kinda loved Domination. There's no issues like scavenging or player killing. It's all yours: grab anything you want on the base and roll into the battle with other guys, and of course, be good enough to survive. TAW servers always rock. Especially when some of these guys shows up and people start grouping and acting like damn commandos! -
How many of you are actually prepared for a real zombie outbreak???
Drey replied to zebra0371's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I got a cellar of cans, a hatchet, a fueled and fully operational UAZ, and a safehouse to hide. Hell, I live in Russia! We do have zombie outbreaks here all the time! Not zombie outbreaks but vodka outbreaks actually, but you get idea! -
Well sadly, yes. Partially because people may find some powerful guns and stock it with ammo and run around infinitely. If average survivor could only find a double-barrel or makarov and a couple of clips, and he knew that he'll get fatigued after 200m zombie pursuit, he would think twice before visiting major cities or even villages. Teaming up with buddies would probably be more reasonable. Also, adding something random into zombies behavior might add a little of fun.

Shooting every and each player = being a scumbag.
-
Oh, please. You may put it in any way, but there's NO excuse for being a scumbag anywhere, anyhow.

Yea, people are what makes this game playable. So the best part of it is related to human interaction. Instead of discussing yor experience, I'd like to share mine. So I played for like a week. Learning some zeds tricks, the places good to check and places to stay off. And so on. I always tried to avoid any players encounters. But once I've bored, I risked to message someone to play with and got answered immediately. After an hour of attempts to meet up, thanx to Skype, I found this chubaka guy with nothing but a hatchet. Once my backpack was stuffed with vehicle parts, we set up to find a vehicle to gear him up. So we were moving by the trees, searched villages, messed with zeds a little. Hunted down a goat for some juicy steaks when a chopper flown by. We were scared a bit, putted fires off and moved on. Stumbled on some ruins and decided to loot it for my lumberjackish buddy (name sponge-bob btw, played along with his wife;). So I went for the tower to check while he was looting the bottom. When I've reached the top, I got sprayed from AK by some guy laying in the corner. Sponge found a Winchester and sighted the stairs where my body was to prevent it from being looted. This server had side channel enabled so I could converse with the guy while finding my way back. I knew Winchester was no comparison to the AK so I tried to intimidate the guy by telling him that there's 3 other dudes who won't let him alive out that tower until I reach it and get my stuff back. It turned out he was scared too of the helicopter flyby and confused me with a bad guy when I was climbing to the top. After some skyping he appeared to be a nice guy, and by this strange way, our gang got a new memberXD

There's no holo sights on m16, m203 is obviously useless in 99% of situations, accuracy difference is only hypothetical thus impossible to notice because the range limited by sights. If I had to choose, I'd take m4 with no hesitation. It has holo, and if you're unlucky to have no nvg, you might be lucky enough to find an m4 with a flashlight which is superhandy to use.

Spent two weeks finding a vehicle with large coyote backpack stuffed with parts and jerrys, passed by a huge amount of cool stuff. Still, didn't found a bycicle.

There is actually people with morals in this game.
Drey replied to MXGStatik's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
By the way. I've never been killed on a russian server. Went out to some european server for some diversity. Piles of corpses all over around. No, thanks. Went back. -
So once I wanted to find a vehicle. On Monday I went up north and started to search through every single town and city. It took me a week of endless stalking on different servers and checking every single shack to find absolutely NOTHING. So my suggestion for the game is to have significantly more vehicles thus on worst condition. It will still need people to put some labor and cooperation to fix these, but at least having a vehicle would be possible in the game. Seriously, having a large backpack stuffed with all sorts vehicle parts for two weeks and finding no car eventually is such a pain.

So what exactly are willing to win? Ah, there you go. You know, I always thought that the uniqueness of the mod was the social interaction in overly hostile world. Like seriously, I know, you've spent the countless amount of time learning how to avoid zombies and find some good stuff by any possible and legal means in the fewest amount of time. Then you got bored. Without any clue of what to do next, you started to hunt people. Subsequently, you've came out with your "teaching noobs" idea as an excuse. I understand your concerns, but please understand the reason other people try out this mod. It may give you a unique experience of human encounters in a hostile environment, when everyone seems to be on the verge of their extinction. From my angle, you act like a conventional maniac. Rare and military items may create an illusion of in-game growth towards hi-rate hardware, but I believe it's not what Rocket wanted. I guess any military-grade items should be removed from the mod. You know, there is a lot of games where you can try your hand in. They are pretty competitive and really rewarding. You get new deadly guns and awesome outfits killing inconsiderate players. Just try out pretty much any modern day shooter (like BF, MW or something). Ah, you played them. Then I suggest you to STOP RUINING THE REAL FUN OF SANE PEOPLE AND GET THE FUCKING LIFE. Thank you so much, glad we found a common language.
