http://www.badasswankers.com is a multiplatform Gaming community running since 2005, we have supported DOD, DOD Source, TF2, Brink, Minecraft, BFBC2 & BF3. We previously had our DayZ server on the Public hive, but have moved to Private Hive to offer our playerbase greater custom features and protection against scripters. Connection Details - IP: 206.217.128.50 Port: 2302 or Search for us using 'BAW', '1979' or 'badasswankers' rMOD NOT required Server details; Dual Quad Core dedicated server hosted by Fragnet in New York - Ping to U.K. ~100 3 Hour restarts with automated restart warnings 30, 15, 5 & 1 minutes before restart 45 Slots Free to play - Unlike other private hives, we do not have a paywall to play on our servers. Level footing - We do NOT offer any sort of 'pay2win' system like other servers, where $$$ gives you a sniper/assault rifle on fresh spawn. Server Features Custom Weapons Custom and modded towns - Skalka (North), Kamenka, Cherno Custom Military installations - Klen mountain, redeveloped NE Airfield, Pobeda Dam Care Packages Instant loading! 80 Vehicles including multiple Huey's, Transport choppers, Scout Choppers & Bi-planes Side Channel enabled -TEXT ONLY Custom wreckages Experienced & helpful Server Admins - Our admins have a wealth of game server administration, they have proven over a long period of time to be able to keep their emotions in check and deal with issues objectively when making decisions. You will NOT be kicked or banned for in-game actions against our admins or anyone else, unless we have cast-iron proof you are breaking our (very few) rules. Back-ups every 15 minutes Rollbacks if/when scripters cause widespread damage 500 slot TS3 channel with public and private channels available Spawn with Hero skin (to prevent survivor/bandit skin glitch eating your backpack) Spawn with hatchet but no backpack Barbwire spawns replaced with Sandbags Server Events; We periodically run DayZ server events. Our first event 'The Fugitive' was a great success, we dropped a BAW member into the wilds with some great gear and provided everyone taking part updates of his location via twitter, the clues started off vague, but got more frequent and obvious to increase the fugitives discomfort. The fugitive gets no aid whatsoever from admin, who'se sole job during the event is to detect cheating. The server is whitelisted during events and prizes are offered for the winner(s). You do not need to be a BAW member to take part. We have many more event ideas in place Features under consideration 'Curfew Whitelist' - Turning on our whitelist (currently over 200 players added) overnight when admins are not around Additional DayZ server on a different map Server Rules No Scripting No picking up items from ammo crates/med boxes spawned by scripters No VOIP in side chat No racial or homophobic slurs No disconnecting to avoid combat, zombies or death Our server caters for pretty much every sort of gameplay; Base building, base raiding, banditry, counter-banditry, ambushes, counter-ambushes, carebearing, clan-wars, solo play. Basically whatever style suits you as long as is does not involve scripting or hacking. Whining about PvP is frowned upon, if you have a problem with PvP, take it up with Rocket. That about covers it, while our server is already very popular, we look forward to seeing new players and groups/clans enter the fray! -

Hey all, One of our server regulars noticed that youtuber RhinoCrunch had recorded his latest episode of Bandit Diaries on our server. I thought i'd post the video here to show you some of the server customisations in effect, and to give you a neutral party's opinion of the server. FYI, none of the admin or server regulars knew RhinoCrunch was in the server, never mind recording, so nothing is staged. Also, the players with red berets are members of the BAW gaming community, it's the only in-game perk they receive. -
Check out the features on our server, if they sound like what you're looking for then feel free to jump in anytime http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/108693-baw-us-1979-private-hive-chernarus-custom-weaponstownsmilitaryvehicles-more/

BAW US 1979 Private Hive Chernarus - Custom Weapons/Towns/Military/Vehicles + More

BAW are delighted to announce our latest upcoming Whitelisted Community Server Event Our next event will be Stronghold, held on Sat 15th December 7:00pm EST. The event will be open to everyone who has played on our server (by the 15th) without using scripts or cheats. In Stronghold BAW members will have to hold off attacks on a specific map location. On this occasion the contested area will be the custom military base at Klen mountain. You should consider every BAW member to be heavily armed, extremely hostile and operating a shoot-on-sight policy. Your objective is to eliminate all BAW members (identifiable by their Red Berets) and retrieve the Golden Revolver. To prevent you all from having to walk or run for absolute miles (Kamenka spawn would suck balls for this event) we will be limiting the server to the one spawn point in Berezino. Our redeveloped North East Airfield offers high value loot that will help you gear-up. The server will be whitelisted during the event, and will rollback upon completion to ensure that you dont lose any progress from regular gametime. BAW members only live once, once dead, they are removed from the Event. The winner(s) will be the individual or group to retrieve the Golden Revolver from inside the base. We offer multiple public and private channels in our TS3 server. Prizes - Technical issues aside we'll be working on some sweet in-game prizes and provide an update shortly. We use twitter in all our events to broadcast unfolding twists in events, dont miss out on mission critical data and updates by following us @ www.twitter.com/badasswankers If you're interested in this event, our whitelist sign-up sheet is here - http://forums.badass...ST-Sign-up-here -
Clan Looking for a established private hive, know of any?
Vladivar replied to reggie1324 (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Hey Reggie, We have numerous groups on our server that like to engage in PvP. We have also decided to break up our community/clan group into smaller squads so that we dont just roll others over with weight of numbers, these squads will be hostile with each other even if we're wearing the same clan tag. Public and Private TS3 channels are provided. Server is heavily populated and has custom weapons, towns and military installations. Our advertising/discussion thread is here - http://dayzmod.com/f....vehicles-more/ It would be good to have another organised group for even more PvP battles. -

Any whitelisted servers looking for a small group?
Vladivar replied to Ganzor's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
We're opening a 'Curfew Whitelist' where we turn on the Whitelist when no admins are around to protect the server. We are encouraging groups of players to join and get involved. Server location is NYC. http://dayzmod.com/f...yvehicles-more/ -
We purposely host all our Game Servers in New York to provide the best possible ping for European players. I'm a Euro, and there are at least another dozen or so players from around europe on the server (that i've talked to in TS3), and another two from Australia... Anyways, you're welcome to join us, if not, good luck!
-
Thanks for the kind words Falconer. All bar one of our admins have a wealth of experience in admining other games, our community has been running since late 2005. We do our best to keep the scripters out, and on the occassions we fail, we'll rollback after mass teleportations/slayings. We've been considering a Whitelist for a while, but that comes with it's own issues, so we're looking at implementing a 'Curfew Whitelist', where we turn the whitelist on overnight when no admin are around. To CyanidC, you'd be more than welcome to play on our server and explore our redesigned North East Airfield, improved towns, completely custom military installations and other surprise features. We also have custom vehicles and weapons too. As Falconer said, we're private hive, so you may not get that script restriction message...

We wanted to try out our newly added NPC's on the BAW DayZ Server. What better way to do it than to pick up a couple of fresh spawns and have them duke it out with our militia.
-
Huh? These NPC's are active on our server as of now, this was us putting some fresh spawns up against them.
-
Footage from a 2 vs 2 heli battle. We get word of two choppers closing in on one of ours, we move in as support and battle commences.

Wouldn't want to run into a Tunguska :D

US 1979 will be closing and replaced with a Private Hive server
Vladivar posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Hey folks, We at www.badasswankers.com have had a bunch of fun running our DayZ server [uS 1979] on the Public hive, however scripting/hacking is out of hand and the controls we have are too limiting. We're not done with DayZ though, no way, however we feel that for the enjoyment of everyone on the server, and our own sanity, we will be relocating to our own Private Hive server. US 1979 will be removed in the next day or so, any gear stored on our server that you want to keep should be picked up ASAP. We hope that our regulars will consider joining us on our private hive server. What is a private hive server and what does it mean for people playing on one? A "Hive" is database that contains player character data, your location on the map, your inventory, your health stats and your Zombie/player kill stats. The public hive is run by Rocket and the DayZ development team and is accessed by thousands of servers (like US 1979) which means that you can play on thousands of different servers and your character data will carry across to whichever server you happen to be playing upon. On a Private hive, your character data is saved locally by the server you are playing on, and does not carry across to other servers. This means that whatever you do with your character on our server, your progress for that character will only apply on the BAW server, nowhere else. That dosen't sound that great a deal, why should I stick with your server and limit my choices, the Public hive sounds like a much better idea. The Public hive set-up by the DayZ team was done so with good intentions, and, technically, we find it a really innovative approach to gaming which we would like to see developed further. By playing on our server, you wont be make a definitive, long term choice between BAW and everyone else, just that any progress you make with a character on our server wont show up should you play elsewhere at a later date. The public hive will still be available to you, as will other private hives. The benefits of playing on the BAW private hive are; No Server hoppers - As no-one else will have access to our hive, server hopping will be eliminated No 'Ghosting' - No-one will be able to disconnect mid-battle, join another server, relocate, reconnect to the BAW server, then shoot you in the back. Increased protection from hackers/scripters - By vetting who joins our server before they can even connect, we will be able to better filter out the non-legit players Server Rollback functionality - If hackers/scripters do make it past our vetting process, we will be able to undo any widespread lasting damage they do to the server AND your character. Experienced Server Admins - Our admins have a wealth of game server administration, they have proven over a long period of time to be able to keep their emotions in check and deal with issues objectively when making decisions. You will NOT be kicked or banned for in-game actions against our admins or anyone else, unless we have cast-iron proof you are breaking our rules. Teamspeak 3 server - If you'd like to communicate with other players on the server, find people to play alongside, play with your buddies or need an admin, we offer a 500 slot teamspeak 3 server which you are welcome to join. Our TS3 IP is 206.217.128.50 – If you would like a private channel for you and your friends we can arrange that, just contact one of our admins. BAW server events - We will be hosting DayZ events which we hope will be enjoyable for everyone, details to come! What we are doing here is offering you the chance to play DayZ on a server maintained by an experienced, structured Gaming community that is over six years old and knows how to provide the platform for great gaming experiences. We want a return to the DayZ we all loved before it became overran by hacking scripting douchebags. All types of gameplay will be catered for; Base building, base raiding, banditry, counter-banditry, ambushes, counter ambushes, daytime play, night-time play, clan-wars, solo play. Basically whatever style suits you as long as is does not involve scripting or hacking. Our dedicated, dual quad-core server hosted by Fragnet is located in NYC, so is suitable for Euro players. Okay, it sounds worth a shot, what do I need to do to join in, do I need to become a BAW member? We will be starting an open testing period shortly, we will be tweaking the server configuration for performance and vehicle balance, as well as testing various admin tools and features. We are considering whitelisting the server in the future, if you are interested in our project then all you need do is look for us under BAW on the server browser. To sign up for future whitelisting register on our forums and notify us of your interest in this thread, please include your GUID and steam profile page and we will contact you with further details. BAW membership is not necessary, however, if you come to enjoy our server(s) and the people playing on them, we have an open membership application process. TL;DR - Wanna play on our private hive, open testing up soon, search for BAW in server browser, also we may be whitelisting, register on our forums and notify us of your interest in this thread. -
You're digging a deeper hole for yourself with every post, time to quit while you're behind champ.

Should we remove barbed wire in the next update
Vladivar replied to mattlightfoot's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Hey Fraggle, Perhaps my choice of words could have been better. I would consider the ablilty to barricade or fortify any location in the game environment to be a 'huge element of the game', it is the Zombie apocolypse after all. Barbwire, at the moment, is the primary object used for this as the current game mechanics make it so readily available and offer the greatest coverage when deployed. It is simply extremely OP compared to the other fortification options offered. Take it out and what is left; Sandbags - I've been playing this game solidly since May and haven't seen a single legit sandbag, other than deployed ones. Aside from their merits and demerits as fortification tools this is ridiculous, what would be realistically be more readily available on a coastline map with military installations? sand and bags, or rolls of barbwire? Spawn rates obviously need buffed. Tank traps - Not terrible but not great coverage compared to barbwire, and thus they are often overlooked, spawn rate seems reasonable too. No real issue with these imo. Aside from scripting douchebags, the results speak for themselves only because the initial choices made in implementing these features has been a) poor and b] pretty much ignored thereafter. Read through this thread, there are plenty of people putting forward suggestions on how the current mechanics could be tweaked to improve these features. I think underground bases sound like a great idea too, however, what if the feature is added, turns out to be hugely flawed or simply broken, do we have a vote a couple of hours before a hotfix to remove them? It's all well and good adding features, however, if you make poor choices during implementation (which is understandable on a game of this type) and then dont listen to your community with regards to their application, make changes then re-guage opinion, then whats the point? -

Hey guys, Noticed your members on our server today (US1979) and recall playing on the same server as you guys in the past before we set up 1979. As our group is fairly big, it would be good to come up against some organised opposition like yourselves from time to time. Consider this a welcome to our public server, and our private hive server once we have it configured and running smoothly. If you have any issues, feel free to jump into our TS3 channel for assistance, IP is in the MOTD. We can also set up a private channel for you if required. Keep an eye on our forums at www.badasswankers.com for server developments. Also, we encourage players to register and contribute your thoughts and ideas for the direction of our servers. Enjoy -
Should we remove barbed wire in the next update
Vladivar replied to mattlightfoot's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Wow, what a weak-assed way to gauge community opinion, "Hey guys, we've got a hotfix on the way in an hour or two, do you want us to remove a huge element of the game based on a handful of opinions?"How about actually interacting with your community to try and fix a game mechanic that is buggy and easily abused in it's current form? This is an Aplha is it not? Aren't we meant to be working towards fully working game mechanics in the long term? If everything in DayZ/ARMA II that is bugged was removed rather than fixed it would make for a very barren 225km2 landscape. Did'nt Rocket say this would be about 'trial and error'? Additionally, offering no alternative other than a Yes/No vote on the subject just polarises debate and draws out the lowest common denominator. On one side we have "OMG, barbwire, what? I have to go find a toolbox to remove it? No, i'm far too lazy for that, TAKE IT OUT PLS" and on the other we have "lulz, my barbwire has funneled everyone into a killing ground while I sit up on my barbwire-protected silo no-one can reach, while i'm sniping teh n00bs, KEEP IT FTW" The saddest part of all of this is, unless i've missed it, there has been no comment here from devs either directly or indirectly on any of the suggestions posted in this 45 page thread. A simple 'That could be workable/Sorry we can't do that' on any of the comments here would give encouragement to the community that their thoughts and ideas were listened to. [/rant] Thankfully, some people have taken the time to put forward sensible ideas on how barbwire could be changed in order to make it a more functional game mechanic; 1. Stop respawn of removed barbwire on server reboot 2. If item one not available, make barbwire have to be saved/interacted with in order to remain in place. 3. Toolbox required to deploy 4. Tweak spawn rates of barbwire and/or toolboxes 5. Tweak spawn rates of other barricading devices 6. Remove the glitches/artifacting 7. Make them shorter 8. Barbwire currently blocks vehicles, but not Zombies, this is the wrong way round. Here's some other suggestions; A. Make barbwire take up more slots in the inventory, would people be so keen to pick them up if it took up three slots like Jerry cans, four like Fuel tank parts or even six slots like Engine parts? B. Want to promote 'Hero status'? automatically add a toolbox to the toolbelt of anyone who achieves Hero status. C. Provide a server side tool/facility to enable server hosts to have barbwire/tanktraps/sandbags disappear on either server restart or after 'X' number of hours/days. Our server has recently been spammed with barbwire by a scripter (we found it in the logs) who came in when the server was empty and set up a Cherno killing ground funnel. Rather than whine endlessly about how crap barbwire is, we're polling our DayZ community as to whether or not we restart the server mission and basically start from scratch. We don't want barbed wire removed from the game as it is an interesting game dynamic, we'd much rather that there were some basic modifications that would develop the feature, allow some server side control (for dealing with scripted in fortifications) and stop it affecting server performance. It would be most encouraging to hear the feedback of a dev either directly, or via a forum mod. -
ARMA X owner stuck on loading screen tooI tried 1.7.2.1 got loaded in and my entire inventory was replaced with a box of painkillers (bye bye M4A3 & AS50). Anyway, thought that may have fixed the problem so I re-installed 1.7.2 only to remain stuck on loading screen while my friends watched some douchebag called Vinnie friendly-fire kill me over and over.

US327 kicking non clan members
Vladivar replied to NobleWhale's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Omg aren't you being a lil dense here :D ? Of course I'll play on some other server. And of course I'll report this server as it's clearly breaking the rules set for hosters. Admins have no right to kick anybody to restrict access to their server. Why? Stop being dense and come up with few reasons yourself :D . if i was paying for a server. i think i should be able to do whatever the fuck i want with it. you should be thanking every admin that is hosting/renting a server for you poor bastards to play on. the fact that you can't password protect the servers is complete garbage. whine all you want about locked servers giving "clans" an unfair advantage. locked servers would keep the hax out' date=' which is a bigger issue that's destroying the community. [/quote'] Here's hoping that you're never in a position to admin a server, never mind host one. No, individuals/clans/communities should not have their own private servers connected to the hive. The reasons for this are pretty easy to understand for anyone who cares to engage their brain. Locked servers facilitate unimpeded loot-farming and vehicle hording. This in turn allows the host to transport huge amounts of loot, that they otherwise would'nt have had, into other servers, as well as the ability of ghosting with vehicles. The rules are clear, hosting a server is a donation to the project and development of the mod/game. If you want a locked server, develop your own mod. -
It's so darn inconsiderate isn't it, all of these people barricading themselves in!?! I mean, when the inevitable REAL Zombie apocalypse happens, or, my country descends into civil-war, i'll be sure to operate a 24 hour 'open door' policy in whichever facility I take for shelter or refuge. I'm sure i'll be able to share some good old japes and chinwagging with the local zombies and militia over some afternoon tea.
