  1. Died trying to vault barbedwire. A damn shame. I also lost my feet to an Outhouse. But I got binoculars!

Is there not some sort of global illumination system that Rocket can edit? (I'm not familiar with the ArmA Engine)
  3. Along with the others ITT, an IED would be a great addition to the game, as the mod already has a very basic crafting system. Since I still play solo, cars aren't in my leauge, and when I come across scrap metal and jerry cans, I feel as though they could be used for something else. Building an IED out of scrap metal, scrap electronics (new addition, maybe?), and maybe gunpowder/some type of unarmed C4, would be awesome. And I could also lay an IED in a doorway and wait for players to come, or even Zeds! Please take notice, Rocket, maybe you can add this as a test in the next patch? I could also be pushing all of our luck.
  4. I like to play DayZ solo ('lone wolf') which was possible in the 1.5.6 build but is all but impossible in the 1.5.7 build (which Rocket has suggested has a problem with zombie spawning numbers and frequency' date=' anyway). I would like DayZ to return to a more equitable balance of zombie numbers/spawns to ensure those who might still prefer to 'lone wolf' the game can at least try, but this entire notion of playing DayZ solo is also utterly dependent on re-looking at the game's blood system. If a player suffers long-term blood loss it is my understanding that only another player can provide a blood transfusion. This seems to me to be a fundamental (actually, a fatal) flaw in any notion of playing the game solo..... [/quote'] You don't know about blood packs and blood from meat do you? You can find blood packs in hospitals, and cooked animal meat will give you blood as well. Next time, try looking around the New Player Discussion, as it can help you with other stuff as well. Don't worry, we all learn new protips and features everyday about Day Z.
  5. What he means is that there shouldn't be females in the game. Not only do they not belong in ArmA 2 itself, but they would stereotypically be killed/flee first. In my opinion they dont belong in the game, and they shouldn't be added.
  6. After spending about an hour carefully raiding Elektro, getting in several firefights, and being chased by a 27 zed mob, I noticed that there was a ladder that went up to the hospital in Elektro. I climbed up and surveyed the area, only to accidentally double-tap W and fall to my death.
  7. Yesterday, after raiding a grocery store for some really sweet loot, I noticed a military base in the distance. I still don't know the name of the base, but I ventured inside. The control tower had it's front door barb-wired, so I attempted to step over via "V." There were two sets of barb wire, and for some reason they were VERY low into the ground. I stepped over the first one fine, then as I tried to step over the second one, I died. I had broken my foot, and my blood was -1000. ^^Took place during Dusk, around 8:00 in game. It was about 12:21 Central Time in real life. ^^Dallas 7 ^^Version 1.5.7 ^^About the in game location, I didn't know where exactly I was. But the military base had 2 large hangars, and it was close enough to the city that I first looted so that you could see it clearly with view distance all the way up. I was also close to the coast. A few days before that, I was in Balota. I open an outhouse and grabbed the loot that inside (albeit, it took me a very long time to get past the door collisions), and tried to close it. Well, as I closed it, I guess my character got stuck. I broke one bone, and lost about 2000 blood. ^^Took place in the middle of the day in game. It was about 7:30 Central Time in real life. ^^Dallas 7 ^^Version 1.5.7 --I can run ArmA II perfectly, so specs aren't an issue.
  8. Sweet. Hopefully the servers will update quickly. I hate it when on some games (mainly Source games), if there's an update, the server owners have to shut down everything for about an hour to update the software. and some servers don't update at all, so they are incompatible.
  9. Currently, the Direct Communication function in ArmA II is malfunctioning. Most people don't realize that they are using the Side Channel, and they speak over it. Most people have a Vent open, and will invite new survivors that they find.
  10. dude lets see your gr8 pic then (if you are going to flame?) You're just asking for trouble.
  11. I'm in a rusg to leave somewhwre but I wanted to know how far the Direct Communication goes. I've tried talking to people before, but I don't know if they just ignore me, or if they cant hear me speak because Im not close enough. Thanks for thr help, I'll be back on to check this in about 5-6 hours.
  12. Thank's guys for the info. Hopefully all of the issues regarding comms is solved soon.:)
  13. This is why I love this mod. As for the friendly you met, good job. I've had the misfortune of meeting only one player, and he completely ignored my presense and continued crouch running down some railroad tracks.
