Here's my story. My group of friends and I purchased Arma II just because of the way DayZ sounded. Even if it's only an Alpha, an idea in it's infancy, it sounded fantastic and it has delivered thus far. We've played for well over a week now and our group ranging anywhere from 4-6 has created many memories we will not forget. Desperate city raids for badly needed medical supplies, an encounter with a much smaller group of other players which turned out in our favor, and that time we chased a rabbit for fifteen minutes. Good times. However, I can't help but feel like we've "beaten the game". We raided both NE/NW airfields and collected moderately good loot, although no GPS/NV. The only endgame option I can see is finding other players and killing them for sport. Why not? We're a heavily armed group and what we lack in organization and tactical shooter experience we make up for in numbers. But then what after we've killed and been killed numerous times? The mod is fantastic. I love this game. Shit, I even would go as far as saying this is my dream game. I've always wanted an open world, co op zombie survival experience and this is exactly what I got. However the first worry that comes to my mind as a newer addition to this mod is the question of replay value. I've been browsing these forums for a few days now but, unless I'm mistaken, most of the discussion seems to be centered on the PvP and whether it's "forcing" a playstyle on us or not. I'd like to instead talk about the things to come, the additions that will make this more than just a mod for Arma and it's own unique, even deeper experience. The first thing I'll bring is up the map. When we all first started, we were floored. 120+ miles? Holy shit!? But as more time has passed I've begun to feel like the only really unique towns on the map are the major cities and the airstrips. Obviously this is because DayZ is a mod run on Arma and uses it's map, but this is something I feel should be addressed in the future somehow. How, I don't know. Anyway, discuss.
