A possible fix to the alt F4 problem
[email protected] replied to deathdragon1987 (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
People would just resort to tabbing out and right click close on the process in taskbar. -
There are multiple ways to reduce or negate the artifacting, available to any and all via the forum search function. I wonder how many posters in this thread have actually bothered looking though. I'm starting to get sick of this bizarre sense of entitlement that a lot of people seem to have, that because they bought a game specifically to play a mod for it, that the ALPHA mod makers must adhere specifically to their own set of ideas on how and when patches should be released. And the constant poking at Rocket for the fact that he is being interviewed and releasing articles to increase the awareness and interest in his project. Are you all fucking mad, or have you simply been living in your parents basement too long and the bright reality outdoors has simply become too much for you to comprehend? Welcome to DEVELOPMENT.

Possible hacker attacked, youtube video attached
[email protected] replied to Devilswish's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I guess it's possible that when u hit save it glitched out and rolled the chopper state back to when it was last saved, then the server later caught up with it and applied all the damage back to it while u were flying. Utter weirdness whatever happened. -
They're not dead, they are "infected", similar to 28 days later.

One thing I would like to see removed from the game: NVGs
[email protected] replied to Kashus's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's been admitted by Rocket that the night is in fact too dark to start with, all because it is designed by BI with nightvision in mind from the start. Makes great Arma 2 gameplay, not so great for DayZ. I imagine the standalone will have a modified night-time, with more eye-adjustment to darkness, and less walking around like a blind man. Will give a new dimension to night-time ambushes for the bandits out there, as you throw a flare or something at people to blind them temporarily (yes i know this already works with NVG's, but this has a much broader application). Suffice to say a lot of things that aren't currently possible in the mod will become possible in the standalone. -
Another patch whine thread? So the very first post you've contributed on here is complaining about development, well done. If it was possible to give beans laced with arsenic, then you sir would have my beans.

It's possible a hacker stole his GUID, its been known to happen.

Non-threatening clothing
[email protected] replied to bad_mojo (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
What about something like this if you want non-threatening? http://tiny.cc/jdlqiw -
You dont get banned for using hacked weapons, only for creating them. That said, battleye will "watch" you more if you are in possession of hacked gear.

A good way to hide a vehicle better
[email protected] replied to Tyler_Sharp's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It's camo netting, would be nice a nice addition for a lot of situations once the whole hacker situation is resolved. -
I think it was mentioned that Rocket was already considering some sort of discout, possibly similar to how minecraft was done.

Zombies aggro from 50+ meters
[email protected] replied to whiteneko's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
On the whole i agree with what you're saying, zombies should go to the place they heard the sound, and then start their "where'd he go?" search pattern. -
Quick question about zeroing.
[email protected] replied to Private Poptarts's topic in New Player Discussion
Some weapons let you set the zeroing with the page up and page down keys, otherwise you'll have to use mildots. Check the wiki for dot ranges per weapon. -
I thought zombies had to walk when indoors.
[email protected] replied to JamesR's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
They slow down a bit once you've made them take off their shoes so they dont trek mud all through the house. -
1.7.2.5 Anyone heard from devs?
[email protected] replied to Persason's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think Rocket went silent after the rabble turned his update thread into a pile of piss and vomit. Cant really say that I blame him, can you? Fear not though, he is still around and no doubt working on the next patch, which will hopefully have tons of fixes and improvements. -
Screen Resolution
[email protected] replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Check you .cfg file and see if it is read-only. -
Has been suggested before, repeatedly.

Good chance it crashed and exploded? Momentum may have carried it a fair bit.

Quick question about zeroing.
[email protected] replied to Private Poptarts's topic in New Player Discussion
Zeroing basically just angles your sight downwards, forcing the barrel slightly higher, so yeah the bullet would go over the target as you're now firing in a slight arc to get the bullet to go further. Also if youre gonna be static for a fair amount of time, make some quick notes on noteable object ranges in your firing lines, for quick and fast rangefinding. If you dont have a rangefinder, try placing a map marker (shift + left click on map) if your server has it enabled. -
1 - 2 second delay when trying to do anything
[email protected] replied to b4k4_d35u's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Looks like you've got onboard graphics for a start, which generally suck. And a low end cpu. Looks like you could do with a bit of an upgrade :( -
Vid looked nice to start with but i had to turn it off after 2 minutes because the music was starting to make my brain run out my ears. Aside from that looked good.

So can this not be played alone?
[email protected] replied to cindyanne1's topic in New Player Discussion
Stay away from cherno or elektro unless you want to play DayZ Deathmatch. The same pretty much goes for the sobors, and the airfields. Until the game has an actual reason to NOT shoot people on sight, you can expect to be KOS to 99% of the people you meet. -
If youre running the game through steam, run both arma 2 and arma 2:OA through steam individually first, then run DayZ afterwards.
-
Sounds like he was taking you for a ride. If you are adamant that you have to trade or give something away, let it always be on your terms only, and dont give them time to set something up. Give them a specific route to follow, across specific places or landmarks and then position yourself partway along that route, never near the "end" of it. That way you get to have a nice long look at them and whoever may be shadowing them. It may sound bad to act so paranoid, but in this game for every person like yourself who is genuinely trying to be nice and helpful, there will be a hundred more who will act nice while plotting your demise and laughing about it with their friends.

Are there vehicle location hacks? or admin abuse here?
[email protected] replied to lnfighter's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Well this opens up whole new avenues for admin abuse, it would be better on the whole if this kind of thing wasnt common knowledge.
