Adrenaline Gaming Community: Tough on Hackers, Strong on Principle
startrekern posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
US264 Dallas 1 | Public Hive Server | www.adrenaline-gaming.net Adrenaline Gaming exists to fill a gap in the realistic gaming community, and provide a relaxed place where everyone has the opportunity to play free from fear. We were the 15th DayZ Server to ever exist - we pride ourselves on our experienced administration team, and our values. We are, bar none, the toughest server on hackers that exists. Sportsmanship is Paramount. Freedom is protected. Administration is fair. Enjoyment is our goal. Community first - self second. Adrenaline Gaming is a community made up of various clans and in-house squads; we provide teamspeak, forum, webhosting and servers to our members, member clans and the public at large. We are a mature, but non-exclusive community; elitism is frowned upon. Our member clans completely retain their sovereignty and most have intricate inner workings; community administrators take a hands-off approach and merely stand back and settle disputes when they arise. "The Price of Evil - Always Vigilant." Our server has been outfitted with advanced tools that we use to combat hacking and unauthorized scripting. Our server, due to these measures, is virtually hack-free. We feel that this is the most effective way to combat hackers in the current DayZ climate. US264 (Dallas 1) was the 15th DayZ server to exist and we pride ourselves on being as hacker-free as possible. We have developed these scripts and tools that allow our administrators to go the extra mile, and this has increased our rate of finds from 1-2 per day to sometimes over twenty that would have gone unnoticed. If anyone has any questions about our community, our policies, in-house squads or the server itself, they can feel free to contact me or post in this thread with further question. Hack Free Hive Server US264
startrekern replied to [email protected]'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I've advertised our server as difficult to hack in the past. It's true - the way we administrate the server and the tactically proficient staff make it a real pain in the ass to hack; thusly, hackers steer clear. Most of our issue lately with population drops have been due to an IP change, but we're recovering swiftly from that. We were once the #3-#5 DayZ server for a month or three - and we were one of the first to ever exist (and the first to reintegrate side chat, and antihacking tools, etc..) -

Sir, The log on our forums related to this incident reads the following. Admin Taking Action: Mushy Time of Action (EST): 5:10:04 PM Player(s) Affected: BOOMHEADSHOT User's GUID: c2af4c406346cdeae8d076645951eeaa User's IP: <CENSORED> Action Taken: PermaBan Brief Description: Teleporting and Spawning in gear. Side Note: He tried joining in the server with a different name (solidsnakeod), he's new to hacking. Our server technicians utilize tools that allow them to monitor the activities of players on the server in a more advanced way than standard observation of logs. Being caught by a technician indicates that these tools were used, and having personally witnessed your action, it was in their judgement that you were engaged in the offenses listed above. If you feel that this ban was in error, you may further appeal your ban at www.adrenaline-gaming.net Semper Vigilans, - [AG] Star Adrenaline Gaming Head Administrator

Sir, I can find no record of your ban in our logs. All of our administrators keep detailed logs of all punishments. Can you please go to www.adrenaline-gaming.net and file a ban appeal by clicking the 'Appeal a Ban' button on the top of the website? Within, please include your in-game name and GUID if possible as well as any other information requested by the form, and our Morale Officer will review your case. Sir, The corresponding log to this incident on our forums reads: Nefto (Lobby) 2f7bf462cf1c15d9c26527fccee89548 3:37 PM EST 4/6/13 Using as50 and esp from cherno rooftop This means that the administrator in question (Duke, or as you saw him 'No Mercy') was utilizing our administration tools to monitor your activities due to suspicion of hacking on your part. The fact that you could see him, and your friend could not, despite his invisibility indicates you were using a common hack known as ESP. Users of ESP are able to bypass the tools our administration team uses to maintain their separation from the gameplay while monitoring the server. As a result, you were permanently banned from US264 Dallas 1. If you feel this was in error, you may further appeal your ban at www.adrenaline-gaming.net Below, I will reference a previous post explaining the details of our administration's actions for anyone interested. -------------- A select few of our administrators have been permitted to use admin tools under strict regulation, and with very stringent logging and vetting procedures. When our administrators use such tools, they completely remove themselves from the gameplay for that session so as to maintain their integrity and ensure that there is enough transparency that they cannot be accused of abusing their powers. All of the admins currently on this select team are of the highest integrity and are among the most respected members of our community, as such. While incidents of abuse have happened rarely in the past, they were dealt with swiftly by the total, permanent removal of the administrators in question. We feel that this is the most effective way to combat hackers in the current DayZ climate. US264 (Dallas 1) was the 15th DayZ server to exist and we pride ourselves on being as hacker-free as possible. US264 Dallas 1 Admin Using God Mode.
startrekern replied to Samaska's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
A select few of our administrators have been permitted to use admin tools under strict regulation, and with very stringent logging and vetting procedures. I spoke with Jason, and he informs me that a hacker had been reported in the area and he was checking certain individuals that were suspect. It was likely that you were simply in the area at the time. I don't believe he located a hacker, so it could have been a false report or the individual in question had disconnected. Squad looking for home - uk/eu. recommendations please!
startrekern replied to Rifle Eyez's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
While we're not a European server, Adrenaline Gaming is a community specifically oriented towards hosting squads and small clans. We'd love to pick up a decent group of folks from the European side of things. AG groups and Regular members have a strong say in how the community is run, and we're looking to encourage more member participation in decisions. We currently are one of the more popular DayZ servers - we were the 16th to ever exist - and will be connecting a new incarnation of our server to the SurviveDayZ Private Hive Network in the near future. Have a look. http://www.adrenaline-gaming.net/ -
The following is Adrenaline Gaming's server charter for US264/Dallas 1, copied from our information board. In order to change the way things in the community are run, our regular members (individuals who have taken the time to apply on the forums for community membership and read over the guidelines in-depth) can suggest changes, post public polls, and use their combined voice to influence the decisions of the administration. They can also create in-house squads, smaller versions of the clans we accommodate, in order to create a proper sense of identity for smaller groups of people and allow them a chance to compete. One of the most interesting dynamics on Dallas 1 is the diversity of our playerbase. The fact that most of our server's players utilize the same Teamspeak, even non-community members, leads to things such as sometimes-spontaneous gang wars, more advanced trading, and an actual community culture. The world feels smaller, there's more interaction, and less shoot-on-sight type of gameplay. We are one of the toughest servers on both hackers, and our own administrators. Admin abuse is not tolerated, and accusations of it will always be either dealt with or defeated with hard evidence. I am a firm believer in truth, but also in fairness; there is no double standard in my book. Should you wish to have some fun in an environment that's unique and welcoming to new players, you can join us on teamspeak at ts.adrenaline-gaming.net, or check out our website at http://www.adrenaline-gaming.net/ Contact an Administrator Here Send a Problem Report Create an in-house squad/Join as a group Become a Regular Member

Adrenaline Gaming: Dallas 1/US264

Immediately after our overhaul, we experienced a DDOS attack that blocked our services for several days. We identified the attacker with the help of our hosting company, and submitted a report that will be forwarded to the FBI field office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, including the identity of the attacker and details of the attack. The attacker was a former disgruntled community administrator at AG, but out of respect to the DayZ community he has joined and with regard to their reputation, we will not disclose his identity. We have since taken a more aggressive stance with our defenses against DDOS, and after working with our hosting company to implement those changes, we feel confident our services will continue unabated. In the near future, upon receiving a reply from the DayZ devs, we will obtain a new instance ID which will reset our server to the aforementioned "fresh" state. Stay tuned for further announcements to that regard! Semper Vigilans, - [AG] Star -

We will be undergoing a major server overhaul and upgrade to a new, higher-performing box over the next three days. With this overhaul, we have decided to request a new instance ID such that the server will be "fresh" (all vehicles, tents, wires, sandbags, etc. will be removed/reset to original positions) Stay tuned for more announcements! -
Hacker Infested Server and Players

Thanks for the report. Unfortunately, we do not often search the DayZ forums for such evidence. Next time such an event occurs, please report it on teamspeak, or on our forums at adrenaline-gaming.net, and we will promptly deal with the situation (teamspeak is the fastest route). We are well known and pride ourselves on our administrative integrity and keeping a tight lid on hackers. In that, I will forward your evidence to our ArmA team. - [AG] Star -
Banned from US264 Dallas 1, Teleporting?
startrekern replied to TBK434's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Sir, we don't keep track of these forums obsessively. We're not awake 24/7 to cruise the DayZ forums, looking for mentions of our server. Sorry. You posted your ban appeal in the proper place on our website less than 12 hours ago. Don't you think it would be wise to give us some time to react? Moreover, you have failed to provide us with any information (in-game name or GUID) that would allow us to locate your ban in our records. Calling us 'fucking stupid' and threatening to report our server to the developers is not, on most servers, the way to get unbanned. However, we don't take attitudes into account in unban requests, so if you will kindly comply with our request for information in your ban appeal on our site, we will handle the situation accordingly. I will post the results of the ban appeal in this thread, including any evidence, logs, and raw server data that is acquired (or, if there are none, the results) -
I got banned from US264 Dallas 1

You have my apologies for this ban, if it was illegitimate. We have recently taken on some new administrators that are not fully familiar with the ins and outs yet. Please provide your GUID and name on the Adrenaline Gaming forums (click the link in my signature) in a ban appeal, and we'll get this fixed up. -
When you make console versions, will that include WiiU
startrekern replied to NeoTechni's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Well, here's the problem: It would never be the same. It would be like taking BF2: Project Reality and putting it on consoles. By removing the community aspect of the game, you've removed 50% of it's appeal. Also, the scaling down that would be required (ArmA 2 can barely run on PCs, let alone consoles, and the DayZ standalone will be based on the ArmA 3 engine) would be massive and insane. It would require a completely new engine design. So you would get a vaguely "similar" game. But not the same one. -

Swift Gaming Private HIVE
startrekern replied to Swift Gaming's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I'll take my honor, my integrity, and my reputation as a reputable administrator over $70 any day. As for the funding, I do that when I don't have enough donations out of service to my friends and to the community that we have built. I do this without complaint. Somehow, I doubt Hunter would. I also don't know quite how you came by the idea that [AG] is doing poorly, or the assumption that you made up "most of our playerbase".. The way to build a solid community and a trust and rapport with the DayZ community at large - and therefore a fun, dependable server - is to defeat hackers without using hacks in order to do it (and expecting everyone to trust you with that...), to remain polite and respectful of players even when your own feelings get the best of you, to remain professional in the face of overwhelming immaturity or irrationality, and to make sure your administration staff is taught how to follow these same sorts of ideals. Communities should be open and transparent - yours is not; you cannot even access the website without logging in. Decisions should be explained to the community and meticulous records of your administrators' actions kept. Can you disprove any of these accusations in these threads with concrete evidence? No? Guess what - if they were to be made against AG, we could. Do you know why? This is because, primarily, we are honest, but more importantly, we keep (as you are well aware..) unmodified records of absolutely everything our administrators do, and can and will produce them on request. You might consider binding your administrators to a code like ours to ensure incidents like you have been accused of here don't happen. I do not see how you can be so arrogant as to think that you can do what you want and get away with it. If your motivations truly are noble, prove it. You're going to need some luck, and a solid plan, but it can be done in time. -
Swift Gaming Private HIVE
startrekern replied to Swift Gaming's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Mistakes and a (perceived) culture of dishonesty, immaturity, elitism, and poor behavior are two different things. I think your reputation has been ruined to the extent that you might want to actually try creating a new community, with a different name, transparent administration decisions, and without Hunter. -
Swift Gaming's private HIVE!
startrekern replied to hunter2123's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Running a private hive as they are, they aren't subject to DayZ's server administration rules because there's no way Rocket could enforce them. That said - Swift Gaming & Hunter: This does not give you an excuse to be assholes to people. This elitism is ridiculous. Somehow, I get the feeling that sort of rudeness carries over into your administration styles. But it doesn't matter that the DayZ devs will do nothing. I think the reputation that has been earned here is more than enough. Anyway - Hunter here was Adrenaline Gaming's DayZ Game Manager for several months. In that time, his attitude progressively worsened. While I was training at Fort Campbell (I am AG's head administrator) - he got into a petty fight with one of our other staff and his reaction was to delete the ArmA server and various other nasty things. Being a forgiving person, I chose to not ban him from our community. This was a mistake. He proceeded to return to our server under an alias with hacks. We banned him after this. He is immature, has no qualms using hacks and sets a terrible example. About his only saving grace is solid technical skills. Rather than putting these towards positive goals, he uses them to his advantage to the negative effect of other players. -
