1. This is a terrible idea. It would never work properly within the scope of ArmA 2's netcode, and opens the door to playing on a totally empty server and never encountering anyone else. There needs to be *MORE* player interaction, not less, and that's what this would do. Taking away side chat was already bad enough.

dayzmod.com - Aug 2012 - Q&A with Rocket

Would it be possible to allow canteens to be placed on the belt (equipment slots), which is one of the express purposes of a web belt IRL anyway?

Admins : Start policing your shit.

We've generally managed to keep a tight lid on hackers on our server. It requires dedication, but it's possible. Hackers have gotten rarer and rarer because of the fact that we've kept on top of the situation. It's not *that* hard to protect your server from hackers if you have a few people around that know what they're doing.

Looking for a clan to join

You should try UDB or BFB. They're clans that are members of Adrenaline Gaming, and one or the other might be suited to your taste. You can reach them on ts.adrenaline-gaming.net, in the clan zones at the bottom of TS.
5. My bad. Failed to transition out of debate mode there. All I read was "sanctimonious bastards" followed by my name.
6. I was unilaterally banned from TacticalGamer's community several years ago, actually. I'm not a TG member, nor was I trying to vilify you, I was offering my opinion which is that server administrators in a normally solid and honorable community deserve the benefit of the doubt, and that to publicly accuse them of restarting the server to get their way and duping is ridiculous. Sure - your names are cleared. But what you have accused them of doing, and the impression you gave to others about their server, is permanent. This is the problem I have with these public debacles that just *can't* turn out in a positive light for community administrators, even if it's proven that they're in the right. There needs to be a system of handling these sorts of complaints that doesn't lead to the entire DayZ community reading half-truths or assumptions, and then never reading the proper rebuttal or resolution to the situation buried on page 5.
7. Well, that's true. I guess I looked at it from the perspective of not specifically knowing the name or PID of the person in question.
8. Yes. Yes, it does. It takes an immense amount of time, and an immense amount of effort. The server logs are confusing, extremely technical and detailed, and spammy as hell. Don't be ignorant.
9. As an ex-TacticalGamer member (2-3+ years ago), allow me to clear some things up: First, TacticalGamer's admins don't pay for the server - community supporting members do. They don't have a sense of entitlement because of this. Second: TacticalGamer, while I had witnessed some administrator problems in the past, it was usually just me disagreeing with how severely they punished people (or for what). I can't speak for the current DayZ administrators because I'm not sure who they are, but it's not usually in the MO of a TG Admin to blatantly abuse server controls and in-game powers to get their way. This sort of activity, were it to be proven, would be a scandal like none other inside their community, and unless things have seriously gone downhill since I left, hearing about this sort of incident is uncommon. It is within the culture of TG to be sporting in your play; duping doesn't sound like something that would be very accepted by the community at large. In fact, I imagine anyone that was caught doing something like that may very well be banned from their server. I would like to hear the say of a TG admin that was involved directly in issuing the ban before making any judgement calls.
10. The following is Adrenaline Gaming's server charter for US264/Dallas 1, copied from our information board. Adrenaline Gaming is a community made up of various clans and in-house squads; we provide teamspeak, forum, webhosting and servers to our members, member clans and the public at large. We are a mature, but non-exclusive community; elitism is frowned upon. Our member clans completely retain their sovereignty and most have intricate inner workings; community administrators take a hands-off approach and merely stand back and settle disputes when they arise. In order to change the way things in the community are run, our regular members (individuals who have taken the time to apply on the forums for community membership and read over the guidelines in-depth) can suggest changes, post public polls, and use their combined voice to influence the decisions of the administration. They can also create in-house squads, smaller versions of the clans we accommodate, in order to create a proper sense of identity for smaller groups of people and allow them a chance to compete. One of the most interesting dynamics on Dallas 1 is the diversity of our playerbase. The fact that most of our server's players utilize the same Teamspeak, even non-community members, leads to things such as sometimes-spontaneous gang wars, more advanced trading, and an actual community culture. The world feels smaller, there's more interaction, and less shoot-on-sight type of gameplay. We are one of the toughest servers on both hackers, and our own administrators. Admin abuse is not tolerated, and accusations of it will always be either dealt with or defeated with hard evidence. I am a firm believer in truth, but also in fairness; there is no double standard in my book. Should you wish to have some fun in an environment that's unique and welcoming to new players, you can join us on teamspeak at ts.adrenaline-gaming.net, or check out our website at http://www.adrenaline-gaming.net/ Contact an Administrator Here Send a Problem Report Create an in-house squad/Join as a group Become a Regular Member https://dl.dropbox.c.../agvertical.png

Banned While Defending Camp...

I can't help but wonder if this was motivated by a remnant grudge from the PR era if =HOG= was involved, after everything that happened on that end.. It wouldn't surprise me, sadly. You should come have a chat with me sometime. ts.adrenaline-gaming.net
12. Hi there! Adrenaline Gaming is a North American-focused gaming alliance, and also plays other various realism-based and strategy-based games. We allow small clans and groups to join the Alliance and utilize our servers (such as teamspeak, webspace, forums, et cetera) in the spirit of sharing resources. Joining [AG] as a group gives you the advantage of not having to hassle with server hosting and lets you focus on growing and playing with your group. On our Teamspeak, you can also have ample privacy while still having that large-community feel and meet other like-minded players. You also, as an individual and not a group, have the opportunity to apply to become an AG Regular. See this link to see what benefits this entails. (To apply for group membership, see this link) We promise we're not zombies. http://www.adrenaline-gaming.net/

Ping limit on DALLAS servers

Dallas 1 does not, and never will, have a ping limit. Enjoy. :)

Night Time light suggestion

What most people do not realize is that the Gamma/blah trick is completely useless without turning up your HDR Rendering. If you turn up HDR rendering, the moonlight will actually display properly. It's NOT that dark. Actually, it's perfect.

Adrenaline Gaming Server

[AG] has grown in leaps and bounds lately, brought on by our unique brand of community-based gameplay mixed with our flair for tactics and strategy - but we still have plenty of room to accommodate everyone. In response to the constant question about the size of our server - 35 players - our policy for now is that we will increase the size of the server relative to the size of the community and active players. If, for example, twenty-five or more active community members are playing on the server at once, we would increase it to accommodate additional members of the public. We also are looking in to implementing reserve slots for supporters.

The Infamous 'Bird Simulator'

This is what's known as FADE - it is an ArmA 2 copy-protection system. It essentially turns the game into a kind of demo, allowing normal play at first but eventually degrading the game to an unplayable state (you become a bird). Amazing photography and writing. Thank you, sir.

Introduce yourselves

I'm [AG] Star, the head administrator of AG. We run Dallas 1. Usually in game, I either hunt bandits, operate a trading post, try and maintain peace in Chernogorsk, or run tactical squad-like operations
18. This thread is modeled off of Project Reality's ASS thread. Ask yourself the following questions: 1. Is it worth it? The mod team has limited means and can only set out for so many ends. While adding ninja zombies would be cool, it wouldn't really benefit the mod. 2. Has it already been suggested? This should be a given - unless you have something new to add to the idea or discussion, you shouldn't make a new thread. (Just see the section below to check if your suggestion has already been suggested) 3. Is it already in-game? Sometimes completely new members who have yet to play the game will suggest something which has obviously already been done. Other times a less apparent feature will be requested. Unofficial DayZ Teamspeak Server

Thanks for taking the initiative to put this up - it's a good idea. I've placed my TS information under Dallas 1's channel, and I'll always be in that Teamspeak if people require support or to speak to me. I'd recommend other server owners/admins do the same.
