He made a tv-series called Twin Peaks some time ago, 20 years or so. Every time you deliver as punchline I keep thinking of that show. The duality of noobiness/obvious you portray (or what I see) ;). Just be in the direct-channel at all times to avoid KOS (have not seen a server where that is not functional, more "realistic" anyway) And yes I am aware of the distance issue, so only a partial solution. Better than nothing I guess...

http://zombies.nu/community/threads/2286/ The "easy" way is to just play/activate/deactivate through OA, making sure that the normal DayZ is not involved. ie use the in-game modhandler. http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma2:_Startup_Parameters If u have a version other than steam, the make a separate shortcut on the desktop with the parametres relating to DayZero. Assuming u are using the right version of DayZero as well as the right version of the beta-patch as well, It could easily have to do with the server issues this weekend. DayZero servers are being attacked. Also any and all launchparametres should be kept in steam. If you followed the detailed instructions on installing and whitelisting, there is still the odd router which do not speak Arma, Try the BI forums for similar issues. Dwarden has written som posts on the issue. -

Lingor Island servers are runnign on a separate server/hive system. Ie your official chrater will not be linked to Lingor Island other than by name.

Tak for en fed aften drenge! Vi var Drysse, ZicoV, Mr_McCoy. Vi startede forskellige steder i Chernarus, men aftalte at mødes i Cherno. Jeg kom oppe fra NØ-Airfield, tog forbi factory for at finde en traktor. Traktoren og jeg kørte i landlige omgivelser forbi Stary Sobor for at loote lidt til de andre på vejen ned. Man vil jo ikke komme tomhændet :) Fandt dog kun to spader til sandsække. Da jeg kom til Cherno, kørte traktoren på dampe, og Drysse og Zicov var fuldt optaget af lave en bus samtidig med at en masse zombier var på nakken af dem. Var der nogen der sagde traktorræs? For at holde zombierne væk fra de andre, kørte jeg rundet på græsset og dyttede som en sindsyg, mens jeg prøvede at køre så mange zombier ned som muligt - good times ;) Vi måtte sande at det nok ikke gik med bussen, og vi valgte at tage til elektro for at countersnipe på sniper hill. På vejen tog vi forbi Pik Kozlova, for at se om der skulle være en ATV. Her rendte vi dog ind i en sniper som fik en af os. Ham to de andre sig hurtigt af. Vi fik dog ikke killconfirmed, da han faldt ud over kanten med blodet løbende fra alle de huller, skabt af krydsild fra de to Kozlova hævnere. Vi ventede på repawn og passede på vores gear til vores uheldige makker kunne få sit grej igen. Videre mod sniperhill. Det gik ikke værre eller bedre end at vi her fik kontakt til to banditter. Vi fulgte fra Kozlova, elkablerne mod Elektro, og da vi kom til gården lige nord for byen, hørte vi flere skud fra den bakke, der har udsigt mod øst ned over powerplant. Vi satte farten ned og med øjne på stilke, gik ikke længe før Drysse havde øje på en fyr med en CZ550. Drysse sikrede sig at det ikke var en af os andre, han havde i scope. Og efter lidt kispus fik Drysse dagens første killconfirmed. Vi trak op mod liget for at checke loot, og til vores store forskrækkelse var der en makker. Ham fik ZicoV øje på, og efter et par anspændte sekunder og en konstatering af det våben den nye fjende havde, ikke var et af vores, blev der lukket op for den varme hane og killconfirmed nummer to. Voted for the Zero option. My thoughts on the subject: Zero; The Z obviously has a reference to the zombies, but I think it relates to the first day of the world after the virus outbreak. As Rocket have been qouted several times for this being an experiment, I find it only natural that zero would be the answer. Relating also to the first day of his(and team) experiment. The implementation of humanitycounter further expands this, as the experiment also shows the extent of primitive actions taken in this "game". This is where the duality begins. As Dayz could be a synonym for daze - falling into a light sleep - letting the experimentors observe the reaction of the world population: Falling into the numbness of a "CodCraze" shooting on sight, or deliberatetly debating one's option as far as best survival possible (Maslov). As the basegame is a powerfull simulator, both options is possible. But the value "taken home" of chosen style in a gamesession is very different, imo atleast. Certain PVP styles will ofcourse also have a very high value. You can debate until the end of days how much your actions in a game reflect your personality, but I think it does. A game like A2/Dayz in particular, as there is no fast respawning with same gear in 5-15 seconds. The fact that you have to work for your gear, makes ingame consequences even more exciting. The shallow hulls duping/hacking etc will ofcourse never experience this wonderfull side of the "game". Food for thought: Which is better (if so) and why? The "beachblonde" killing new characters in spawnarea etc or; The players adopting a Rambo/forestsurvival style killing any intruders on sight... In the end it could also just be a title Rocket and team came up with as a working title: Day of The Zombie...
