Oh is THIS why I ran into some total noobs at the military base south of NWAF today?? Pro tip for the bambis new to the north, don't run around in a military base wearing a headlamp that you have turned on. You made it very easy for me to get into a position where I knew you would run past me for an easy kill. I'm not a KOSer except at loot locations that have weapons. If you're in a military base, I shoot. The entire north is a wealth of loot and food. All you have to do is stop getting seen.

Hey guys I used the search function instead of making a new thread!!! I am in some woods near windy mountain. There is a full moon out. Here is the game with default brightness/gamma Here is the game with brightness/gamma cranked up Now here is the game with brightness/gamma cranked up and clouds turned off ***EDIT*** These screenshots are actually DARKER than what it looks like in my game for some reason. With no clouds I can see anything moving to the fog line provided there is no intervening terrain. Pretty much black and white daytime. I can see all the things and I can and do shoot all the things that run around and based on the fact that I have been shot while remaining perfectly still in a tree from 500+ meters away at night shows that many people do this. I think limiting how high the brightness/gamma settings can go and either fixing the cloud thing or disabling the ability to turn them off is needed. Flashlights have no purpose, even the one on my gun is basically just a sign that says "Insert bullet here". To anyone with hardware issues that need to turn clouds off. Sorry, no mercy. Get a better rig or go back to console gaming.

Please no. Keep peasant ideas and peasant MM away from my precious master race PC gaming. I play on the same server every day and it just so happens that when I'm online it is night and there are few people on. Is it my fault that that's the condition of the server that happened to have the best ping for me and continues to prove stable day after day? No it's not. If I wanted to be stuck in a 40 person daytime server every single day I would just cut off one of my arms and go play CoD. This is PC gaming and this is ARMA. What do you have against me playing MY sandbox MY way anyway?

I am seeing far fewer M4s which is awesome but still found 3 in total at NWAF. Still that's better than the 7 or 8 I would have found.

Way too fucking long didn't read past the first couple of sentences. They SHOULDN'T complain about bugs. They should report them, get over it, and move on to finding other bugs. It's an alpha and I don't know why "IT'S AN ALPHA" needed its own entire thread when there are plenty of people that point that fact out in every other thread. And I finally managed to find a magazine for the FNX45! I was looting the northern military base and the server reset and that's when I found it. Explains why I never find them, server hoppers. Since the server had just reset and it was night out I said screw it and ran north to NEAF. To my surprise NOTHING had been looted. I got to every single stinking building first. All I wanted was a PSU scope for my mosin but I ended up finding a worn ACOG scope, and a pristine foregrip for the M4. As I had finished with all of the buildings in the airfield I went and looted the tents. That's when I found a pristine silencer. I was like SHIT. I sadly decided to ditch my Mosin in favor of this silenced CQB death and ran back to the nearest building with a jail cell in it because I knew every one of them had an M4 in them. Ran upstairs and was looting it when I heard this click click chack click behind me. Instantly I knew that was the sound of someone logging in. I'd already had my pistol out and I spun around and sure enough standing there straight as an arrow was some piece of shit server hopper that was still loading in. I immediately smashed my left mouse button. 11 rounds later he was on the ground and my heart was racing. Unfortunately he logged off/respawned before I could loot him but he looked fully geared and was probably just looking for an attachment for his rifle. I think I might just start camping those buildings from now on. Piss on all of you server hoppers.

I can tell you're new. I haven't been to Cherno or Elektro since the second day I played the mod over a year ago lol. As soon as I spawn I check the nearest small town for food or water and immediately head north. I know where some ponds and streams are at that I can drink from so at the beginning it's just a matter of getting that first can of tuna and avoiding players which so far I'm fairly good at. Been alive for a few days meow.

By the time he logged in probably half an hour had passed. If you understood what I wrote, the server was restarted while I was at the military base south of the airfield. So after the server came back up, I looted the entire base, ran to the airfield, looted the south eastern buildings, ran across, looted all of the hangars, looted firehouses and ATC on the way, then went and looted all of the tents, decided I wanted the M4, ran back to the nearest firehouse and that's when he spawned in. Soooo I'm thinking all of that took 15-30 minutes before he spawned conveniently behind me on the 2nd floor of a the firehouse. Server hopper or extremely stupid place to conveniently log off. Either way he got what he deserved.

If anything loot should be better the further north you go. People need a reason to not just sit on their asses at the coast murdering each other all day. But w/e. I've yet to see anyone at NEAF except for a server hopper that I promptly dispatched and then teabagged.

I'm actually really liking this whole attachment system (one of the best parts of ARMA 3 imo). But something that bothers me is that you people seem to be confusing what DMR and M14s are. The M14 IS a DMR depending on how it is used. DMR stands for designated marksman rifle. By that same token, if you put a bipod, proper stock, and proper scope onto an M4 it could be operated in a DMR capacity although rifles built for that purpose would make more sense such as an SR25 or something. Anyway my point is GIVE US MORE MAGPUL STUFF lol. I really want the angled foregrip so I can build up my in game rifle to look like the one I have in real life. Being able to custom build the weapons in game is nice because it gives us one more thing to go and look for. Gawd this game is great.

Yeah. Only found 1 FNX45 mag so far. Have found easily over 50 M4s. I thought I read some patch notes somewhere that they're adding the revolver and reducing M4 spawn right by 50% in next patch. Can't remember where I saw it though and don't know if it was true.

It's like that on every forum because every game is better than CoD.

I think you guys would have more fun and get more kill streaks if you went back to Call of Duty.

Just turn gamma and brightness all the way up. If the moon is out the game looks like black and white day. I'd much rather they locked those settings so that I can't do this but it gives such a massive advantage and I know other people are using it too. Only downside is on cloudy or moonless nights it's still too hard to see loot in buildings which requires the light or constant tabbing for items in vicinity.
