I found a possible fix and I haven't had the long loading screen once yet. I use the Steam verison. Simply open Library in Steam, click ARMA II and click Launch. At the prompt, select re-install Battleye. PAUSE YOUR ANTI-VIRUS. Let it finish (takes about 20 seconds) and then re-enable anti-virus. I haven't had a loading delay since. Also, you can make the game launch from closed faster by including "-world=empty" in the launch options.

No you don't. My characters live for about 2 weeks at a time. Why should he get used to it? My third character is now 13 days old. -

It's not update related. You using 95417? I get the loading error sometimes too. It only happens to me when I've loaded, disconnect and reload, mostly when I'm looking for a decent server. I have to ALT-TAB and force-quit DayZ and restart it. It's common enough. Sometimes I've left it on loading and it does load eventually but it took aaaaaaaaaaaaages.

Move the whole ARMA folder out of Documents and restart (the game, not the computer). If that doesn't solve it, test it in a new user account.

Anyone who takes it seriously will use Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere. I use Final Cut Studio because I'm a son of a bitch and it's awesome at making commercials & game vids. (Link is for Final Cut Pro X because Apple stopped making Final Cut Studio.)

What fixes it for me every time is to change Video memory from Default to Very High, restart the game and set it back to Default and re-connect to server. Nah. -
