Cicada (DayZ)

I spawned on the beach in the dark while it was raining, and sat there for a little while getting used to controls, when suddenly another player runs right over the top of me headed for the town nearby. Not having any weapons, I started following him thinking he might be able to clear some zombies so I could search for things easier, but I eventually realise he doesn’t have any weapons either. He turns around, sees me, and I say hi. Then out of nowhere, this other guy just runs up to him, and from where I am it looks like he starts jostling and punching him. The unarmed guy getting bashed retreats inside a small building, so I come up to the broken window to peek inside and see what’s going on. I see blood flying everywhere and I realise this poor guy is getting bashed to death with a crowbar. The crowbar guy sees me watching, so I just bolt for it, out of the town and into the bushes, and I eventually stop to turn to see if he’s following, and I can just make out his silhouette against the sky, only a few paces behind furiously swinging his crowbar at me. Almost shat my pants. Kept running til I got to some more bushes and threw myself on the ground under them, and I lost him. I’m too scared to play again at night without a friend, lol.

Thanks for the welcome c: I don't think panicked whimpering counts as a scary noise. I'd only be brave enough to taunt him if I could actually fight back, lol. I'm in Aus, and sadly that means there's only about 10 servers with decent ping and they're always full, so I was forced into a night time one. To make it worse I couldn't figure out how to turn my torch on...but I was scared if I managed to turn it on, then I wouldn't be able to figure out how to turn it off, and I'd attract a crapload of zombies anyway (am I right in assuming torchlight does attract zombies?). Oh, that's useful! I'll have to remember that. I don't think the server I was on allowed third-person mode.
